How to cook traditional Cassava Leaf Soup recipe in Monrovia, Liberia
Princess teaches step by step how to prepare her favorite traditional Liberian dish, Cassava Leaf Soup. She used ingredients grown in her garden or purchased ...
my parents had lots of Liberian friends. I grew up eating all these foods.
My 2 favorites are fufu and soup and palm butter with rice. The hotter the
better! I realize now, when I used to eat more african food I hardly ever
got sick(maybye all the pepper). I'm so tired of plain american food...this
video has inspired me to learn how to cook some of the dishes I used to eat
when I was younger. Thank you for posting!!!!!
It's hard to pick a favorite Liberian dish. I would have to say my favorite
if I had to pick one would be fufu and only because it goes with a variety
of the soups/gravies. My son's favorite is palm butter and my daughter can
eat fufu without any gravy. My favorite soup would have to be palava sauce
or bitterball soup. Peanut butter soup is good too.
(DROOLING) ALL MY GOOD GOOD GOOD LIBERICAN FOOD..My favorites are the FuFu
and Soup, Cassava leaf n rice, Orka n rice sometimes i eat it wit fufu,
palava sauce n rice also eat it wit fufu, tubughee wit lots of
seafood....dis video made me hungry... nw i am about to go downstair and
fix me a plate of potatoe greens and rice
I don't know what history you are referencing but I just came from Ghana
and they do not eat the same food we (Liberians) do. And if there are
overlaps (e.g. palm buter aka palm nut soup) it's cooked very differently
to the point where they can almost be considered different dishes. Stop the
hate and appreciate.
OMG...my ex-roommate was Liberian and used to make the most delicious foods
in creation. I was too lazy to get in there and learn from her, though she
was willing to show me...I regret it. I used to tell her to open up a
store...if more Liberians or Africans did that - you guys would make a
killing in the US.
Wow, this is the same as sierra leonian food. but then again, u guys are
neighbors so...great stuff anyday anytime. Im nigerian and when i was
offered cassava leaf for the first time i was kinda scared but when i tried
it, wow heaven! Now i'm hooked lol.
@ :23 sec...yep... That' what she cooked. I didn't like the whole mashed
potato looking thing. But that Palm Buttter and the Fufu dish? The Cassave
soup, too? Oh, yes... I used to beg her to cook it. Why is my mouth
watering? LOL
Most of these foods are not even Liberian. the settlers from the 1800th
century adopted most of the cuisines from the neighboring African
countries. most of the food on that list is from Ghana, Ivory coast, and
Nigeria.
how much for cooking lessons. I will pay you......seriously. i love afican
food so much, especially jollof, and having been trying to learn for so
long. if you interested in giving a lesson, write back. Thanks.
all those foods are nice. I have a lot of different cultural backgrounds.
and i tell you, they are all nice, and better than the pixzza i eat here.
Actually, our pizza is better; it has no sour taste
Thnx Baby .Dread. That's why I ask him if he's liberian, because I know for
sure he's Nigerian and most of them are ignorance they think they know the
history of liberia more than we do.
All of it looks good!!!!!! I am going to visit an African Restaurant in
Philly and just order some of everything, because I am so very tired of
eating the same foods. Thanks for the vid.
Liberian foods are an equivalent to all nigerian foods, their just with
different names. Except for the cassava dish which is unknown to me...But
I'm curious to have a taste lol.
Talk about bait and switch. The video starts out with good food, then moves
on to how missionaries are harming Liberia. I'm sure glad I didn't send
this video to my friends.
I have never tried any of these foods. The soup is so full of meat, I have
never seen such a meaty soup, but no veggies. Would have liked to see some
of the native fruits.
The mashed potato looking thing is the fufu, the palm butter is the gravy
on top of the fufu.
Quick Fried Okro Sauce Liberian Way
In Ghana we have different way of cooking Okra Sauce/ Soup. But this a quick version of Liberians... they always it with rice and it's very nice. You can chose to ...
