Dr Popper, you put out lots of good info, and more Dr's need to follow suit. One issue however. Most Vit D experts would disagree with you, about 'Optimal' levels, and dosing frequency. Current experts seem to agree that 40-60ng is Optimal for this important hormone, based on average levels of people near the Equator, and most Americans fall way short of this optimal level. And, getting 100k IU monthly is not proper dosing. It isn't how our bodies are meant to get this hormone. The more frequent the better. Dr Reinhold Vieth, world expert on Vit D, explains this in better detail in papers he's published.

I expect most "experts" to disagree with me on most things, since medical and health professeionals refuse to follow the evidence.  This problem is not limited to tests, drugs and procedures; it plagues the advocates of more "natural" treatments as well.  I stand by my statements; humans were designed to produce vitamin D in response to sun exposure; vitamin D deficiency is over-diagnosed; low vitamin D levels are more likely the result of rather than the cause of disease; the amount of supplementation needed to raise levels even slightly is toxic and should only be used when absolutely necessary.
