I like to roast the beets at 350 degrees. As for cooking time, that will
vary depending on the size of your beets. It will usually take over an hour
unless you have baby beets. Just make sure that you can easily push a fork
or knife into them and you are ready! Thanks for watching!
Christie, Your presentation was wonderful. You have inspired me to pickle
more! Especially pickled beets. Thanks for the information. Hopefully you
will be inspired to do more demonstrations. Hi Steve, you make a wonderful
couple! Greetings from Nevada :)Mistress
I will try this on many different vegetables, carrote, beans, and try pea
pods. When you do a pot roast, put in some radishes, there great cooked.
For a taste boil some and cut the big ones after cooking them, and add
butter.. Thanks lee.?
@gerald2003r Christie is all american... I've been living in the USA
pushing close to 7 years now, been married for 2 years and very happy to be
in the USA. :) Not a U.S citizen yet but hopefully in time I will. Thank
you :)

Hi Jenny, I love beets I won a ribbon one year at the fair (cooked ones
though). I didn't measure but for example boil 3 cups water to hot, add 1
cup vinegar, add a tab. pickling spice or ginger, nutmeg, coriander (what u
like), then add your sliced beets to fill up that big bowl keeping the
liquid above the beets. Because its a raw recipe the beets won't cook but
soak so they will be crunchy soft not cooked like the cooked recipe where
you would boil it all normally but its good. Tasty.enjoy!
This is a wonderful recipe thanks so much for sharing : ) I think I am
going to jar/can this recipe...any suggestions?I've never canned a pickled
substance before. I would love to have a ready supply to go whenever I
would like and, that way I could do a bunch at once so I could have several
jars. I love pickled beets with greek food... it goes so well with the
greek spices : ) Did you know that beets are a superfood, they are
"nature's multivitamin." the beet contains a greater range of
Hi one more note the real soft-cooked beets are tender but raw fixed beets
like these are soft crunch (not cooked). My hubby didn't like them raw
because of that. I liked them fine. For raw & not cooking its good. Oh try
to use stevia extract or agave nectar to sweeten to taste. Will take a good
amount to sweeten that much liquid. I like the new Stevia extract from
sugar in the raw makers its natural & safer then some of the products out
their. If u like honey let it dissolve. Take care!
I loove your accent, I'm French so for me this accent is very funny :)) And
the ''revenge of the transformer'' was very funny. Anyways I would NOT put
vinegar or warm water in a plastic container... This would attack the
plastic and create residue in your recipe, so you'd have pickled beets with
seasoned petro-chemicals... Not sure you want that. A glass container is
way better. However I will try the recipe, thanks for posting!
range of nutrients ounce for ounce "than virtually any other fruit or
vegetable on the planet." The antioxidants that turn beets deep red also
fight off free radicals. Compounds in beets also have been shown to lower
blood pressure and cardiovascular disease risk, and to help cleanse the
body of harmful chemicals in processed foods, such as nitrates. "Beets are
surprisingly versatile."
I LOVE pickled beets TOO! But I'm a raw vegan and have been searching for a
recipe like yours. Could you please the quantities of the ingredients that
you used? Thanks so much! Also I heard you say that the beets get a little
soft. Thats good though isn't it?
Thanks so much for the added advice and recipe. I want to add some sweet
onions to it too like my mother used to make them. I like to put these on
top of my salad. Thanks again!
Im excited to try this. Im a raw vegan like someone else who commented on
here and was so excited to see your vid. I can not wait to try this. Hope
you have a wonderful day :)

Helpful Tip: Don't let your canning creation turn our bland! Flavors turn
out the best when fresh herbs and spices are used. Dried herbs should be
used up before 6 months, and spices should be used up in 12 months.
Anything older will lack flavor.
