I swear they have the same guy who did the podracer scene as their announcer
Vintage Wild Camping (filmed using a parsnip zx2).
I just found this little beauty in the Haze outdoors archives from a good few years back. We spent a few nights hiking and wild camping along the coast. The film ...
Nice flounder! :) Nice lobsters. Great catch.
It is a Larsen trap. It is used to catch various Corvids (Crow family). A
captured Mapie will attract others etc. The trap is legal and the captive
bird must be checked upon by Law once every 24 hours but a responsible
person would do this more frequently. Freshly caught birds will be humanely
dispatched.
The trap will have been hidden where it was to avoid contact with people as
any who don't realise what it is and for usually get upset. It is however a
legitimate pest control device used by gamekeepers, shooting enthusiasts
and farmers.
Magpies especially have a huge negative impact on gamebirds and also song
birds. They are expert egg thieves and will work in coordination to raid a
nest of eggs of chicks. Magpies have learned to adapt to human presence and
this has artificially boosted their numbers far beyond natural levels
making their impact on prey species even more acute.
Magpies are even partially responsible for the decline in Cuckoos. Those
these birds parasitise nests of mainly warblers, the single cuckoo nestling
which evicts the eggs or nestlings of the host parents, are themselves
plundered by magpies.
Great vid.
Portrait mode does Joey.D's mop no favours, it deserves 1080p widescreen
and nothing less. As a loyal 'fan', I also noted your tipple of choice was
Whiskey instead of Ale and Vino, you be careful on the hard stuff,
especially if you do any nighttime spooning ;)
+GV-Reviews Joe's barnet is worthy of nothing less than IMAX theatres. We were hiking so couldn't take the extra bottles, pound for pound whisky is the only sensible option (other than not drinking but thats not going to happen). Thanks for the comment mate.
+James76 Its a nice idea mate but aparently that magpie was part of the 9/11 bombings and was put in that cage to teach it a lesson. They also kill song birds and other small birds so are culled to help protect them...... apparently. Thanks for watching mate.
+naly brock We didn't know what was going on and didn't want to jump to any conclusions (other than that it belonged to a serial killer that Joe affectionately named "the magpie man'). I'm now aware that the magpies are trapped to help with the conservation of other birds so I guess it's a necessary evil.
I think they trap magpies because they kill song birds & other small birds,
in parts of the world magpies have near enough wiped out other little
species of bird so I'm guessing that what they're for who knows lol loved
the vid as usual thanks lads ! Peace
I have a 97 ford escort lx. The car has around 325000 miles on it, its an
estimate because the odometer broke. Im almost 18, ive been driving the car
for a year now, and it was my fathers before. I beat the living crap out of
this car and the only problem ive had with it so far is bald tires from
burnouts and front brakes.(my rear brakes are currently not functioning)
All my friends say ive got a piece of ****, they get in and ask me to drive
it cause its just so much fun to drive.
funny, i had the same car and would say that that car was the most solid
car i ever owned as well and the only thing i ever replaced was the
alternator also. ... i had a 99 escort zx2 which was more fun but had some
issues, the biggest issue was the clutch, couldnt get the car out of
gear.... i blame the poorer quality on the zx2 on the fact it was built in
mexico and not idaho like the 4 door was.
thank you for the reply. I did this video after seeing how little this car
has cost us on repairs vs the mileage and how well it looks. My only other
Ford was a 1986 Ranger, very basic model, 2.0 L 5 speed. That old girl went
325,000 and also cost little for repairs. Still had original clutch and
used very little oil. Paint got a little faded but was tight with few
rattles. Take care
This was a nice little video. Although these Escorts are just basic economy
cars, they are very solidy built and seem to be a generally reliable car
from what I gather. The vast majority of cars made are riddled with major
design flaws. Few are good for 200k miles. But the Escort seems to be one
of them. I think it deserves this praise!
@maurader81 thanks, we are at 250,000km and I had to replace the ball
joints and rear struts this week. Still no rattles, no rust and oil use is
about 1/8 litre after 7000km using synthetic. Two coats of wax a year, the
paint still looks perfect. Ford did a great job in Eng it and the UAW did a
great job putting it together.
