Just an update on my reptile room, got a new cabinet to store all my herp supplies, so now I have all my tank tops cleared. An update on my Bosc Monitors, they ...
you only molested me with a tonne of your retarded brainsweat last night,
so try again lonely sad inbred sponger farting at a table, its a family
tradition after all, isn't it? how i know you are ignorant? everything you
ve written is based on nothing. my letting my sav have a bite of sausage or
walk with noisy dog scare the shit out of you. Guess what, he ate sausage
and figs and other stuff maybe once in his 6 yrs. But he's never been a
museum exhibit locked up in a viv, with natural dirt.
Also the fact that you have removed my comments from your channel just
shows how ignorant some Germans really are, I see you live here sponging
but hate us, .. (I'm lowering myself down to your level, with the whole
inbred... illiterate anglo-saxon stuff, but whatever). All that comes out
of your mouth is rubbish, If I can't voice my opinion on your channel
nicely without having you remove my comments then there is no point in
continuing this. Your sav has MBD btw, take him to a vet fast.
Interaction, sitting in the bathroom and letting them crawl me and gaining
trust... I then took them outside, at first they were really nervous..
gradually they have become more chilled out. I have been writing a book for
the last 6 months that will incorporate all of this, including growth
charts, proper diet, temps etc and taming sections... I have about 40-50
pages so far, gotta find a publisher and all that good stuff though. If it
doesn't end up as a book I will make a website.
I'm done with this, I have regrettably blocked you, because you seem too
arrogant and set in your ways, I gave you a bit of friendly advice, which
you took the wrong way, I even stated I wasn't having a go... Then you
insult me and my country, it's sad and pathetic and i'm not arguing
anymore. If you hate us "Anglo Saxons" so much, please move back to your
own country and moan about us there... As for me being the annoying
harrassing type, I will not bother you further, goodbye.
Ok, you will need to purchase a reptile humidifier, like the one I am using
in this setup. You will also need to pour cups of water into the substrate
to keep the bottom layers permanently damp, these are African animals, they
like it hot and humid (they are not present in the dry regions of Africa).
Buy yourself two humidity dials (A few bux each, not expensive) and put one
on the hot end, and one on the cool end. I also have a full care sheet
video up, go to my videos to find it.
Enough to get the gauge to read 60 + on the cool side, my hot side dips
from 50-30 every couple of days, keeping under the basking area damp is
next to impossible, unless you are giving over a foot of substrate... just
pour a few cups of water on that side every couple of days... this will
facilate air humidity. I'm using coir and a soil mixture here, the best
mixture is 70-80 percent soil with 20 percent sand (ordinary play sand will
do) this will allow them to dig properly.
@bigboy3293 Thanks Bigboy, yeah and he is growing huge too.. his head is
not as long as Ozzy Jr's but it is wider... funny how they heads are all
diff. He grew 2" in the space of last week (or the week before that, I got
the date written down) and is now 22" the late Ozzy Jr was 23-23.5" I
believe it was the silkworms that did it, as my other one grew twice the
normal amount too.. I have been writing down what I feed weekly too. Never
seen a sav grow 2"
As adults you will need to do what I am doing, a 7.5-8 x 3 foot cage,
situated on the floor, with 20 minutes to an hour+ of free roam every day.
Otherwise you will have to dedicate them a whole room to them. Make sure
you buy a calcium and multivitamin supplement to dust your food with, I
would totally reccommend getting a UVB bulb for them, which will cost you
around £15 (28-35 bux in the US). Good luck with them, look after them
right.
An item of worn clothing in the tank is also a good way to get them used to
your scent. An association with food is always a good thing, probably best
to feed with tongs though until you are sure they wont bite... My larger
sav will sometimes bite my fingers but he doesn't put any pressure on it, I
have a hand feeding vid up, but I will need to show this again to be
believed. Sorry about the double post, posted from my friends account.
What makes you think I lock my savs up, they are allowed to free roam every
day at least 2-3 times for an hour or more. You told me that it was
unnatural to feed boiled eggs, yet you will happily feed cooked meat to
your lizard, see your contradiction? Everything I have written is based on
knowlege from other keepers, as well as mistakes I have learned from. I'm
not lonely, quite the opposite I have good friends and live with my gf.
You are not above the rest of us, just because of your nationality, if you
are going to make a personal attack on as you put it "A typical illiterate
Anglo Saxon" then you are asking for it. These animals are not from dry
regions, you are an idiot for thinking ordinary room temperature and
humidity can sustain them, will you explain to me what's up with your
savannahs back legs, why does it walk that way.. you remind me of Kaffir2
120-140f, start with around 120 for babies, make sure they have enough
space to escape the heat, they should eat all the crickets in one sitting,
so leaving them in there wont matter. Babies can eat full size crickets,
start them on a 4 x 2 x 2 cage, with 6-8" of substrate and increase when
they both get to around 2.5 feet. Humidity levels must be maintained at
around 60 percent, this is essential for the overall health for them.
Lock up more animals in cages and call yourself reptile entusiast? kids
half your age have more sense than you. and i dont want to read your
personal bs, clearly its all made up. curl up in one of your vivs and stay
there, see how it feels. Ignorant and closed minded. Stuck in the past? You
are along with your cages. And how dare you to speak in this tone to a
european, or german in particular. I expect your apology.
Ok I have a problem with keeping the humidity above 10 percent on my 2 corn
snakes, since my house gets cold alot, how can I get the humidity up in the
monitors cage? My snakes are by an ac fan that blows down on the snakes
when the curtains are shot dropping the humidity and temperature to there
lowest percent but my albino i think likes the cold and thats the only time
ill see him out.
It's ok, boy thats a jump, just try to stay in the guidelines I have given
you and they will do fine. You will find that food is gonna cost you a fair
bit, if you are not used to it. Feed them mostly insects as juveniles, with
a couple of pinky mice a week. As adults you will need to raise the temps
and feed more mice and chicks, keeping the temps up high will help with
digestion.
@ApexSerpents Yeah the foggers are great, if you find the right place you
can get them cheap, you can even get in water bowl foggers, which are a bit
cheaper too. I was blocking off humidity but when I opened up the tank the
air smelled stagnant, so I unblocked the air panel and used the fogger
instead... I would say they need nice air flow too it is important.
@whiteyr44 No Not got any vidz atm,, but when i tame her down i will start
posting some up,, will do a update on my collection my boas , pythons my 1
T and lizard =)).. i have been watching alot of bigboys vidz lately and i
think he is amazing what he has done with his lizards.. hopefully my sav
can be like them 1 day,,
@boasandpythons92 Hey cool, got any videos of him/her? Yeah that will last
a while, you may have to upgrade sooner than you think though.. depending
if your sav gets to 4 foot.. a 3 foot sav should be housed like that no
problem providing you let it exercise, a minimum of 6 x 3 is recommended
for an adult though.
What does the temperature levels need to be for a savannah monitor? I'm
getting two soon also should I leave crickets in there cage about 4 and add
when they're out? What size crickets do babies eat? Please respond back
getting two baby savannah monitors Friday, will be setting up a cage before
i order him.
@WILDARMHORN Make sure you use a water purifier to make the hard water
safe, or buy bottled soft water... then yeah it's fine. You can mist the
tank with distilled water to get rid of hard water stains, but don't spray
the frog directly or offer distilled water for soaking. Only de-chlorinated
tap water.
@whiteyr44 Yeah will do,, Sorry to hear about your Sav Ozzy (RiP) hope u
have many happy years with your new 1 =),, Will handling my monitor
Frequently get her tame and used to me>? N sound like ur from UK where
bouts u from
@batsareamasing It's not recommended, but I will seperate them if that
happens... You can house two of them though in a nice sized enclosure and
they should be a male and female.
Get a plastic zip lock bag, mix a ratio of dust and a vitmin supplement
(you can buy certain brands that have both)... then chuck in a a couple
dozen crickets and shake.
lovley monitors bin thinking of getting a larger lizard in my collection so
if u ever breed let me know. what was the temp gun u were useing that
looked pritty cool x
Up the temps, give him some hideboxes to feel secure, offer different prey
items, do you have a video of him? Hard to guess exactly, and how long have
you had him??
Ignore that guy he's a typical German, arrogant and stuck up their own
arse. Other than that good vid and a nice looking pair of savs ! rule
Britannia !
