I think a lot of Filipinos had this car before. And I believe up until now, there's still heaps of them on the road. Just shows how reliable hondas are. Especially the Civics.
This old car: Installing engine into 2002 Civic
Well, that's the way of the road boys.... Job done. Not too bad. Will monitor the running 'issues'. Any thoughts? 2002 Honda Civic LX.
Nice video, Nowell. Not many professional mechanics come home and work on
cars in their spare time, even taking the time to record effort.
I sure like your emphasis on your recognition of a 'near miss' error. I'll
guess that the cam sprocket was slightly tipped, creating the impression of
adequate torque. Then when it turned over the sprocket walked off a little.
Say, where did you get the engine? Rebuilt? Do you mind if I ask how much
it cost?
+spelunkerd I got the engine from South Island Imports here in Nanaimo. Used, with they say 109,000km on it. Cost me $600 taxes and delivery incl. Not rebuilt, but in 'running condition'. We just put about 15km on it today, no issues, apart from a VERY slight misfire/uneven idle...
+mrlpn2 I'm proud to say yes, she certainly is. I'm unsure of how proud she is to say the same though... j/kThanks for watching eh!

K20 Engine Swap EM2 Civic 02
//erniedesigns.com/ This an old engine swap K20a3 I did it to my 2002 Honda Civic that originally had a D17. It has a lot of engine goodies. Even though it is ...
hell yes, i just got an 02 sedan with a d17 and i want an N/A k20a2. have
you had any wiring issues, and do you know if the 5 speed as opposed to the
6 speed makes a better 1/4 mile time? and i live in canada so i'm not sure
if even asking total conversion cost would be helpful in this case
+Ernie Hernandez hey thanks, ernie i appreciate the advice.i own 2 custom yamaha v-twins and they give me all the drag racing fun i need, i just want my little grocery getter to have a little more fire in the shorts...but who knows one thing always leads to another every set of wheels is a new adventure!!!cheers from western canada
+Pan tera - congrats on your ride. I didn't have wiring issues, i used a plug and play harness. A2's normally come in 6 speed I believe... I used to have a smaller 5 speed tranny on the d17 and it was ok... but the 6 speed is really fun, I a toda chromolly flywheel and it revs really quick. If you go turbo i would do 5 speed. if you supper charge or NA do the 6 speed. even if you do the 5 speed swap in a chromolly flywheel it really makes the car fun to drive even if you don't race it.
+El Compa Cuatro Seis U used the K20 6 speed transmission off the type-s, but you can use the manual transmission 5 speed. Same bolt pattern. The only update would have to be in your fuel map with the k-pro. Im currently not tuned and the computer thinks I still have the 5 speed. The car runs fine, but it could be better by tuning it.
