Corbin Maxey, aka The Reptile Guy, brought a few of his rescued animals to the CBSNews.com newsroom to visit with Cali Carlin and talk about why they ...
Im 13 , i have a 2 year old green iguana . I take care of him , i clean him
, i feed him a healthy diet of vegetables, fruits and green's I've taught
him to come when i call him , he is the nicest lizard I've ever seen . He
has a 6x9 ft enclosure, he has a fountaine for fresh water a humidifier,
this guy saying that iguana's make a horrible pet makes me so made!
+Dominic Desjardins 6*9 ft enclosure, I think that answers your own criticism. That amount of space is key and it's the thing people don't realise. You also probably realise the shit ton of vegetables and fruits you have to buy which costs a lot. Iguanas also tend to be cheap to buy, which also leads to problems.
Well, before you go out and buy a pet, please do some research on them.
Just because they are small and cute, doesn't mean it will be that way
forever. I have seen/heard that many owners have failed because they didn't
understand the facts.
This goes for pretty much any pet/living thing.I hate how greedy corporate fucks just put them out in the market like they are garbage, most companies don't even offer proper information in their pamphlets. Its embarrassing really.
+caroline royer Sure! There's lots of websites dedicated solely to reptile care. My personal favorite is BallPythons.net, but that's mainly just because I have more snakes than any other reptile.
+caroline royer Ohh I love Cresties! I only have one atm, my ex boyfriend ended up keeping my first one. But I'd love to get more geckos in the future. If you have questions I recommend joining a reptile forum :)
+Cessna Kitty right. this video will not help any new pet owner at all. I watched it in hopes of learning somthing more about my new crestie. but it didn't help. at all. I've owned Leos before. but not cresties. and this video didn't help with the crestie part.. ugh.
+caroline royer Absolutely! Its kinda like having one video for all species of dogs and only showing a poodle. Hopefully any people who get geckos after watching this do a little more species-specific research
+Cessna Kitty right. Most of their faces were about Leos. They shouldn't have done a mix video when they all need different care and feeding and different info about their tails.
lmaoanyway,They carry salmonella and it's not good for pregnant women to risk getting sick since it can affect the long-term health of the child. And I think the immune system gets compromised a bit when you're pregnant as well? so there'd be a higher risk of getting salmonella poisoning? but don't quote me on that.
@madhoshi7 ya my husband was a little slow on the video when she crawled up
my leg i couldnt stop laughing it was so funny i luv her so much. she
crackes me up!!
Which pet lizard is better for you? Bearded Dragon or Leopard Gecko
Okay so there are lots of comments that are saying that they got their beardie or leo for much cheaper than what I mentioned in the video. And that's fine. But this ...
thats bull shit i am paying $70 dollers for my bearded dragon and it

I own tons of exotics and i just want to say if its legal where you live to own it you can walk it I walk my water monitor (which is a pain considering he is seven feet) and for a Iguana of that species its expensive they aren't as rare as typical iguanas but as you can see well worth it if you have the room and the time to take care of them they are friendly if raised right. But yea you can walk them.
+bobi966I got dumped? Lmfao, what are you on man? At least I didn't call this lizard a ''Komodo Dragon'' lmfao, you think anyone can even own one of those?!
Come on, why do have to say that. Most lizards are not dangerous, and Buddy is not a komodo dragon. Even if he was they can be trained just like Buddy. A horse is 100 times more dangerous then this little lizards and most of the lizards in the world. But hey thanks for watching
You can tell this guy really loves his lizard - just by the small cues the
lizard gives him that he picks up on. "What are you doing with apricot on
your face? You nut!" and then he picked it off, very nice act of love he
did for the lizard.
