really like ur videos, always put thumbs up ! ... but u seem to spend upto a
minute sometimes more, looking at pre decimal copper half pennies and
pennies, when millions get found every week all over the uk, hope u have
a good year detecting GL+HH ATB andrew
+andrew evans Thanks Andrew, it's probably because I love Georgian coins and love to see if there is any detail on them I guess. I have decided a while back not to show many of those.I appreciate your feedback, all the best, Rich.
well done on the silver bit of water and a tooth brush and it cleans up
nicely dog tag fooled me thought it was a nice silver. lovely bag seal not
seen that one before been collecting them for a while your friends military
badge is a cracker gl/hh
Thanks Mark. I cheat and use bicarb lol, but only on the coins I want to put in my collection, would never do that to a hammy or early milled stuff. All the best, Rich.
I like finding dog tags my best one was victorian and i sent it to my
friend in the us who collects them , address was rodney st liverpool . nice
coin spill , that was just like my first silver of the year :) best wishes
Rich
Thanks Jackie. Yeah was cool to see it emerge from the crud lol. All of those coins in the trees were covered in crud but cleaned up really well in the end it was like a protective film on them. I may ring the number on the dog tag. It's only 4 miles from my house. All the best, Rich.
Cheers Derek. Yeah was nice to get it on camera emerging from the crud like that. I really thought it was just a half penny at first lol. All the best, Rich.
Nice place to hunt Rich and the soil looked very different through parts of
your video so there was a right old variation there.
Great to see some genuine silver coming out too. It's been ages since I
found a coin spill and it's great when they pop up.
GL&HH
LOL. Cheers Eminem! Yeah the soil was weird man different all over the place. You always hope you have a bit of silver in a coin spill never mind a florin which is where the big silver starts as you say lol. Only the second silver florin I have found by the way! Found about 5 of the brown cupro nickel ones that never come out the ground bright silver, well unless it just dropped out your pocket lol

Fantastic to see present day Graphic Design students going back to some of
the fundamentals of typesetting and typography. Even more interesting is
that the Letterpress Workshop was located in what was the old hot metal
composing room. It is a tragedy that a previous generation of Graphic
Design lecturers and senior Art & Design management allowed a superb
facility to be dumped in the Chatterley Whitfield colliery.
@aeptypog Hi, thanks for your comments, we agree that's why we are trying
to build up our stock of type and equipment for the students to use. We
will be posting more video results next year, with more adventurous
results! Cheers, John
Hundreds of cases of metal type, composing frames, stones and proofing
presses where all disposed of – a tragedy of immense proportions to
Typography and Graphic Design education..
