Work out your salvation with fear and trembling? Explained through grace. Phil 2:12,13
Philippians 2:12,13 "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." This is a ...
Ryan Rufus, So you are saying it is Ok burying your talents??? Ryan, it
seems you did not understand Matthew 25:
24-30 The Parable of the Talents
Matthew 25: 24 But he that had received the one talent, (aka Ryan) came and
said: Lord, I know that thou art a hard man; thou reapest where thou hast
not sown, and gatherest where thou hast not strewed. 25 And being afraid I
went and hid thy talent in the earth: behold here thou hast that which is
thine.
26 And his lord answering, said to him: (aka Ryan Rufus) Wicked and
slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sow not, and gather
where I have not strewed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have committed my money to the bankers, and
at my coming I should have received my own with usury.
28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, (aka Ryan Rufus) and give it
to him that hath ten talents.
29 For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall abound: but from
him that hath not, that also which he seemeth to have shall be taken away.
30 And the unprofitable servant (aka Ryan Rufus) cast ye out into the
exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Ryan Rufus, I am not Judging you, Scripture / Jesus Christ, is. Mathew 25:
24-30 speaks well about YOU, Ryan Rufus and many Protestants, who believe
that they can bury their TALENTS and by preaching there is no need to do
anything for your Justification / Salvation.
Ryan Rufus, YES, You are burying your talents and again what does Jesus
Christ say to those Like you who bury their talents???
Ryan Rufus, you know of this now, you are no longer IGNORANT, of this
TURTH, thus WHEN you come into the presence of the Lord regarding your
Talent that you buried, YOU can no longer tell Jesus Christ you did not
KNOW. Amen
+Martin Sandoval I really feel for you, please take the time to break away from the church and listen to Jesus ,read his word. Jesus said you are a new creation if you are saved! He said what he started he will finish. He also said that if you are his he has you in his hand and he will never let you go! The word of God also says he is faithful to the unfaithful. God love you through Jesus ,if you truly believe in Christ you are in Gods family!Would you kill your son, daughter or brothers because they are disobedient or stubborn? So you even though you are wicked how much more do you think the father loves his children.IF YOU ARE RELIYING ON CHURCH ,PREISTS AND WORKS FOR SALVATION ,I CHALLENGE YOU TO MEET THE REAL GOD!!FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE !!BEEN SAVED!! THROUGH FAITH AND THIS IS NOT FROM YOURSELF,IT IS THE !!GIFT FROM GOD!! YAHWEH bless you, it is time you rested in the finished work of Jesus!!
+Martin Sandoval ...How come you entrust your salvation in parable whereas you have never understood the simple phrase "not of works" in the clear and explicit salvation passage of Ephesians 2: 8,9 ?
Ryan Rufus, apparently you have not read (Rev 3: 15,16) re: WORKS, WORKS,
WORKS!!!
Revelations 3: 15,16 I know thy WORKS that thou art neither cold, nor hot.
I would thou wert cold, or hot. 16But because thou art lukewarm, and
neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.
Rev. 3: 15,16 above Jesus Christ talks about Our "WORKS"!!! Therefore
WORKS is VERY IMPORTANT for Our Salvation!!!
Ryan Rufus, So, if you are LUKEWARM, re: You're WORKS, Jesus Christ will
..."VOMIT THEE OUT OF HIS MOUTH".
Ryan Rufus, you are WRONG!!! St. Paul, truly meant that We Should "... WORK
OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING, for it is God who works in
you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
Ryan Rufus, Please do not put your definition on St. Paul's words.
+Martin Sandoval You will never learn the truth of God because He has darkened your mind already . You will never see the truth of God because Satan has " blinded you eyes" already . Proof ; Until now you have not understood the very simple phrase , NOT OF WORK in Ephesians 2:9 . Pity yourself but I doubt you can even do it .
+Martin Sandoval and yes bible interprets bible. Number one principle to understanding the word, else you have everyone coming up with their own interpretation. That's why we have so many denominations today. Because people failed to read the word in context and let it interpret itself. For every point I made, I gave you bible verses, but you haven't done so sufficiently.
+Martin Sandoval from Matthew 6 we pray for forgiveness from our Father in heaven. NOT MAN! Jesus died for my sins not man. The blood of Jesus covers my sins not man's. I'm sorry what you've said doesn't corrolate with the finished works of Christ.
Nuhu, Can an apostle a mere man forgive and retain sins??? Let see what Jesus ChrIst has to say about it in John 20: 22,23 belowJohn 20: 22When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23WHOSE SINS YOU SHALL FORGIVE, THEY ARE FORGIVEN THEM; AND WHOSE SINS YOU SHALL RETAIN, THEY ARE RETAINED.Nuhu, Jesus Christ, breathed upon the Apostles the Holy Spirit so that they can forgive or retain sins. Nuhu, if you have offended God, yesterday, today, you have to ask for forgiveness to one of the successors of the Apostles, they in turn will with forgive you your sins or have you sins retained. Nuhu, re: 1 John2:12- Nuhu, once your sins are forgiven the are forgiven, but if you commit the sin again you need to go and have your sins forgiven.Bible can not interpret Bible, it is the church founded on Rock that can interpret the Bible. Jesus, did not leave the bible, Jesus Christ left His Church. Jesus did not say on this Rock I will build my bible, but my Church.do not be caught dead with the sins you are committing now, you need to ask for forgiveness, every time you sin.
+Martin Sandoval I'm sorry but having to ask for forgiveness everytime one sins is contrary to the finished works and perfect sacrifice of Christ which declares us righteous once and for all- forever. Once you accept Christ ALL your sins are FORGIVEN, and there remains no more sacrifice or offering for sin. Hebrews10:10;13 -"And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all". 1 John2:12- I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been FORGIVEN on account of his name. 1John1:9 also declares us cleansed from ALL unrighteousness once we ask Christ.Ephesians1:7- We have been redeemed from sin through His blood. So if sin will cause Him to leave us, we haven't been truly redeemed, neither have we been perfectly forgiven. Also we righteous by faith not works. No works of the flesh made us righteous, therefore none can make us unrighteous before the sight of God. 2Corinthians5:21- Christ who knew no sin became sin for us, so that we who knew sin could become righteousness. We are basically slaves to righteousness in Christ and nothing can take that away.I'm sorry I do not agree with your interpretation of John20:21-23. Simply because I need bible to interpret bible. I do not have an interpretation for it either. We can't make a doctrine of a couple of verses. We need it to mentioned and interpreted in other verses. That's the best way to study the word of God. Bible interprets Bible.
It is good to rebuke your Brother if he is in sin, for we are our brothers keeper. Nuhu, What does it mean to remain in Him, is just that, REAMIN. Jesus Christ is telling us Christians to NEVER LEAVE HIM. Nuhu, how can a Christian leave Him??? I will tell you, the only way a Christian can leave Him, is by SINNING and dying in SIN.Nuhu, if we commit a sin or sins we have to ask Jesus To forgive us. Yes, it is always good to go straight to Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness, BUT that is not How Jesus Christ wants us to have our forgiveness of our sin, Jesus Christ wants us to go to His Church that he established over 2000 years ago to have our sin forgiven, and it is the Catholic ChurchNuhu, I am sure you have read John 20: 21-23 below.John 20: 21He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. 22When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.Nuhu, John 20:21-23 is how we have our sin forgiven or retained by the Apostles and their successors the Catholic Church.Note: "...As the Father hath sent me, I also send you". NUHU, to do what??? FORGIVE OR RETAIN OUR SIN, is what Jesus Christ is referring to. Amen
+Martin Sandoval now you don't sound angry. And I'm asking you, what does it mean to remain in HIm? Oh yeah my bad if I contradicted myself. Let me make my point clear. Unbelief is the sin that will one into the fire. And no He isn't angry. He just has compassion for them like a shepherp to his lost sheep. "To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again." - Isaish 54:9
+blessed nuhu Angry! lol I am not angry in the inside nor on the outside! Well, do you want to find it out the Hard way??? I say this because you stated that if you do not remain in Him and denounce Him as Lord THEN you loose your salvation, BUT then you say: "But sin cannot cause you to lose your salvation". Nuhu, you are contradicting yourself. BECAUSE, if you do not REMAIN IN HIM, that my brother in Christ, is a SIN and will lead you into the fire, this is what our Lord said, not me, perhaps JESUS IS ANGRY with those who do not REMAIN IN HIM.AND BY ME USING CAPS, GET OVER IT, YOU HAVE GREATER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT.
+Martin Sandoval why do you sound so angry inside? This isn't an argument about who's right or wrong. It's searching the word for truth. I have no business with the lake of fire. None of us who believe in Christ do. What do you mean by remaining in Him?
Hey Nuhu, FYI If you do not REMAIN IN HIM, then that is a Sin, a BIG SIN, and that Big Sin will lead you to HellsO YEAH!!! A sin of this nature, a sin that leads to death, will cause you to loose your salvation. Noah, The question is, do you want to find out the HARD LAKE OF FIRE, WAY???
+Martin Sandoval Alright man. I'm sorry if it came off that way. If you do not remain in Him and denounce Him as Lord then you loose your salvation. But sin cannot cause you to lose your salvation.
Nuhu, the Lords prayer has nothing to do with me calling you "silly nilly" you answer was silly and out of context.Oh by the way you did not answer my question to you, here it is again.Q. what happens to YOU, if you do not remain in HIM???
+Martin Sandoval And what part of the Lord's prayer permits you to call me a silly rabbit. I see how well you apply the word to your life oh religious one. I made the statement about reading out of context in general sense not with a malign intention. Jesus always spoke in perfect context that's why when the rich young ruler came to Him in pride of fulfilling the laws, Jesus showed Him something he lacked, but to the gentile sinners He showed love and grace. He never gave the adulteress laws to fulfill. He said "Neither do I condemn you; go your way. From now on sin no more." With the gift of no condemnation He empowered her. My point was simply this: Jesus spoke to them by the laws they knew. Under the law you had to forgive to be forgiven, it was an eye for an eye but under grace we are FORGIVEN perfectly on account of His name! If you say a sin cannot be forgiven you have made it superior over the blood of Jesus Christ, and nothing can stand against His blood. God bless man!
+blessed nuhu Nuhu you silly rabbit. I am not taking nothing out of context. Nuhu, what part of the Lords Prayer is meaningless as you say???Matthew 6: 9 Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. 12. AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE ALSO FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS. 13 And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. 14 For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences. 15 but if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your offences. The above is the lords prayer, Jesus Defines the Lords prayer as if you do not forgive of DEBTORS neither will God forgive YOU. So the above you say i am taking it out of contexts and it is meaningless, then you are saying that Jesus Christ is also taking it out of context, hmmm i am in good company.NUHU, Tell me what will happen to you if you do not remain in HIM???
+Martin Sandoval whatever you take out of context would be meaningless. Matthew 6: 14,15 was before the finished work of Jesus so He addressed the people based on the laws they knew. 1 John 2:12-" I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name". This was after the death of Jesus which gave us an eternal righteousness and forgiveness. Here you see 'forgiven' in the perfect tense which means once and for all (Hebrews 10:10 accounts for this fact also). Ephesian2:9- we are not saved by works and if we are then Jesus Christ died in vain (Galatians2:21). Hope you get it man! God bless you!
Nunhu, you say you can not loose your salvation. Hmmm so, Nunhu, what if you do not forgive your brother, what will happen to YOU??? Lets see what Matthew 6: 14,15 says about a christian , who does NOT FORGIVE HIS BROTHER.Matthew 6: 14For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences. 15But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your offences.Hunhu, Matthew 6: 15 says God will not forgive your offenses, and if God does not forgive your offenses, then off to hell with you. So yeah, YOU CAN LOOSE YOUR SALVATION.
+skinnskallenOi No man we aren't screwed. In Christ we have been given a new spirit, a spirit of righteousness as a gift. We have right standing as a result of this righteousness gift and not even sin can change that. We are saved in Him forever!
+Martin Sandoval Your confusing works with salvation. Proper context and considering the whole of scripture you should find that works come AFTER salvation, and is proof of a genuine salvation, not the other way around. We're saved by GRACE through FAITH. If then its by grace, it means it comes 'unmerited', that's what the word 'grace means. We could NEVER be good enough to earn salvation. Way too many scriptures to list but, here's a few really important ones: *******Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. *******Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. *******Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.*******Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Truth Behind "Work Out Your Own Salvation With Fear And Trembling"
I am Greek. I speak it and read it and know the way we Greeks use words and i am going to show you how the intent in the verse in Philippians 2 v 12 is not to ...
Thank you for posting. I'm debating with a guy who's running around telling
new Christians, or any Christians really, that believe in Christ, that if
they EVER sin, EVEN once, they are not really followers of Christ... I
think this is the worst thing a person can do, to tell people that if they
wander from the presence of God and sin, that they can never return...
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling means you have to
maintain the salvation you have received from God by living a obedient and
holy christian life and according to Word of God .
You need to read Luke 12:5
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath
killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
I enjoy your videos, thanks! Being you know greek and all... which bible do
you use and find most accurate? Do you believe in the trinity? Thanks
again.
Fight Your Sin with Fear and Trembling -- John Piper
Sermon Excerpt: Your Acting is His Acting (February 24th, 2011) Philippians 2:12-13 Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works ...
+Jeff Y. Amen brother. John is one of the very best teaches God put on earth. You can see the love John has for our Heavenly Father ea time he talks about God.
How do you know what John Piper's reasons are for believing? Have you asked him "what reason do you have to believe?" Or did you already come to the conclusion for him?
Good morning my daughter. You're welcome my husband and I were thinking and talking about you yesterday give us a call. I texted you yesterday to see how you're doing.

Work Out Your Own Salvation With Fear And Trembling Message By Creflo Dollar.
Born Again, are you sure? Depart from Me, I never knew you!
Born Again, are you sure? Why did Paul tell us to work out your salvation with fear and trembling? I can think of nothing worse than Jesus to say depart from Me, ...
Another good one! I don't want to be annoying, but every vid of yours that
I watch brings a flood of scriptural references and I have to pic a topic
out of many.
Regarding Charitable deeds vs the Law, and yes, I realize how
controversial this is:
1 John 2:3,4 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His
commandments. 4The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not
keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;…
The Torah includes charitable acts, couldn't find the one I was looking for
and I'm brain dead.. but here's an interesting find:
Leviticus 19:18
"'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people,
but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
Things changed after Peter's Dream of sharing the Lord with the Gentiles...
Anyway...
Roman 3: 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On
the contrary, we establish the Law.
Paul was a Torah keeper: 25:8 while Paul said in his own defense, "I have
committed no offense either against the Law of the Jews or against the
temple or against Caesar."
Was the Law nailed to the cross? Colossians 2:14 "...having canceled the
CHARGE OF OUR LEGAL INDEBTEDNESS, which stood against us and condemned us;
he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. The penalty was nailed to
the cross, not the Law.
And what changed from Christ's sacrifice?
Hebrew 8:10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my LAWS in their minds and
write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Also in OT: Jeremiah 31:33
"This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that
time," declares the LORD. "I will put my LAW in their minds and write it on
their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
I believe this change from the written laws to the law on our hearts is
accomplished by the Holy Spirit:
1 John 2:27The anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you
don't need anyone to teach you. Instead, His anointing teaches you about
all things and is true and is not a lie; just as He has taught you, remain
in Him.
I don't think we can call the Torah Jewish because it was given at mount
Sinai when all tribes were present include the Egyptian followers.Jewish
=tribe of Judah (and Benjamin). Israel=all the faithful and all the tribes
including the lost ones that Jesus came for. Matthew 15:24 and Jeremiah
50:6 etc. etc.
Matthew 5:18-19:
For I assure you: UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, not the smallest letter
or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are
accomplished.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands AND TEACHES
PEOPLE TO DO SO WILL BE CALLED LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. But whoever
practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of
heaven.
I got more, but this is too long already. I think the applicable laws of
the torah are already being followed by most believers, except maybe the
sabbath the food. and a couple others..but since the temple does not exist
the laws concerning the priests and sacrifices are not applicable.
Hmmmm... I wonder if/ how we can spiritually apply the priest/temple laws
to this temple made NOT with human hands. Good night
I love what you just said. You're a rare gem and like you said, Iron sharpens iron and I say, "faithful are the wounds of a friend". I'd love your comments on my video offerings. Even though there are typos in the first one and a wrong scripture reference in the second. ;-/
+pillblooms you and me BOTH lol. I rewatched it, and my goodness you pay attention to detail. I notice what you are referring to now more clearly. I believe I may have even simply misspoke or even became slightly over-zealous for a moment. You help keep me in line either way, I even considered remaking the entire vid but when I watched it I saw the point I was making along with the scriptures was still all there. I may have to make a note of the error you noticed in the description box just for clarification. Again, you are not ever ANNOYING, we are a FAMILY in Christ right? Family is Family through thick and thin, Love and Strife, good times and bad times. You disagreeing with something I say, would never put me at odds with you. I can "fight" with my physical brother and argue with my physical sister, but we remain family and loving one another. That's what a family IS, the ability to get to that point and still push forward with an acceptance and appreciation of one another. I am not at all irritated with ANYTHING you have said, and I AM grateful that the point of the video was still able to be gotten across WHEW lol. Please, NEVER stop criticizing. You are helpful, Not the opposite.
ok then, :-) it's just that you mentioned, "not the law that you can't eat this or that...." The point your video was making was wonderful, I just think that I may have misunderstood the reason for your distinction.
OH! PFFT man come on pill! lol. I wasn't saying there were NO charitable deeds in the law, I was separating the specific deeds of the Law from the specific types of deeds James was referring to. But even James was not referring to JUST charitable deeds because he made REFERENCE in the Same discussion to Abraham who's WORK was simply an active OBEDIENCE rather than fitting into any specific category.
+pillblooms I have to say that the deeds vs law thing was more a matter of emphasis within the context I was referring to. I am glad to clarify that there are deeds In the Law as well in the description box if you like :).
+Andre RobinsonThis simple and short answer is:Yes and No. I've been lead to take the entirety of scriptures seriously and to challenge our pet doctrines about fulfillment and make sure what we believe isn't the product of Calvin worship or something. So, I just take issue with the statement that good deeds are separate works from the Law.
ok, I see. Hm ... well alright then! I have already reread this twice lol, going to give it a few more lookovers because it has some great information and reference in it. Very unbiased and well done my dear friend. Delicious, as Always! :)
Did you find any actual error within my words, or is this additional, further clarifying information? I only ask because when you give information it hits me like a truck and I'm like, "Sheesh", "Ooooh I see", and lots of "hms" follow lol. I know Paul was a torah keeper ... but I didn't learn that until a few months ago, after I made this video. I may have to rewatch it now if you found fault in it, and then I may have to remake it. Also, you are NEVER annoying. I have nice stack of about 15 books I am currently in the process of reading because I LOVE to read and learn from the experience and understanding of others. I am humbled by ANY correction done in love and especially offered with wisdom. I am a slave for Jesus, the Messiah, and a servant of man. I love truth, over ego, and so even if you debunked my Whole Video here somehow, I'd still be appreciative of your input.
