+Freddie Riley no they didn't but cool story. Meanwhile IU lost in Title game that yr anyways and has been irrelevant since. Duke won it all in 2010 and 2015.
+JZ2001JC I didn't hear a whistle when you say boozer got fouled, Moya got hit right before that and after that...Coverdale didn't move his feet....Hoosiers won it fair and square.
Boozer got fouled.....Duke had a clean steal on Moya when it was 72-70...and Coverdale moved his feet (which is illegal) when he in bounded the ball with score 72-70. Duke got hosed.
maryland fans wanted to beat duke in the final. unfortunately, duke saw
what was on the horizon and threw this game so maryland had to trounce
indiana instead.
Maryland Duke and Kansas were all worlds above everybody else. It just so happened that 2/3 got to the F4 while the other one choked away another huge lead in true Duke fashion. Then again, MD did the same thing against Dule the yr previous...
I'll give it to you though, Maryland did win the ACC that year and it was probably their best team but to say they were OBVIOUSLY the best team in the country would be like comparing them to Kentucky THIS season and that's clearly not the case. I also wouldn't call losing by 12 pts in a game that you led in the 2nd half with your 2 best players at 50% "getting trounced".
Really? Because I seem to remember everyone thinking Duke was the hot stuffing that year. Like always. Let's put it this way. Maryland lost to both Duke AND Oklahoma that year, Both teams that IU beat in the tournament. IU was hot that year. This is all beside the fact that I didn't say they would have won. I said there would have been no trouncing if not for the injuries to key guys.
