Best built cars? Anyone who's ever been to the tracks w/ road legal cars
knows the Corvette is one of the most solid built cars that can take a
beating and then drive home, those tiny forced induction engines are far
more likely to break. And You don't see any Corvettes busting into flames
or requiring a tune-up every few thousand miles. Now as far as sales go the
Corvette also "sells over and over again" Yes price is a correlation b/c
only the ultra expensive cars north of 500k will out do it
-Coupled with the aggressive, hostile attitude towards any foreign
influence. Regardless of topic. When you look at the facts... Such as the
holy ZR1 which is probably the most overhyped product in all of mankind,
sold only 3000 cars in its entire production. Outsold by every single car
up to and including Lamborghini Aventador at over 400 000 dollars. Viper
sold 28500 cars since 1990, Meanwhile Ferrari sold over 40 000 in america
alone. So all this insane hype... Isnt working so well for you.
- Corvette 3-1 in the US market and they sell 120 000 cars a year
worldwide. Where Corvette sells none at all. Im not saying Porsches are
instantly comparable to Corvettes but what does the entire US car industry
produce that CAN be compared. In a country so focused on getting rich and
living large, why not build quality. Its as if america decided if you want
quality, you should buy European. Even Ferrari outsold Viper in USA. At
3-4-5 times the price. Bang for the buck isnt working for you.
As an icon for american patriotism and war-heroes... Im sure it works well
and serves a purpose. But why is that never enough for certain people. Why
does it HAVE to be best in the wooorld on top of it. When they run media
stunts and lap misleading lap times, they are as "stock" as Lance
Armstrong. And why are we so shocked when the american hero image turns out
to be just a bit fake. I mean. When was it ever real. Whats the point in
spending more money? Are you aware that Porsche outsells -
Wrong. Mercedes build the big V12 (I think 7. something litre) the goes
into Pagani and owners have done 100k+ miles without problems ( Alot of
miles for a hypercar). Even smaller engines that goes into the like of
Porsche and Ferrari don't really have much that goes wrong with them.
Ferrari will even pay for seven years worth servicing when buying new
Ferrari because they know they don't loose much doing it. Price is NOT a
correlation, nobody spends 500k+ to go fast! It's more than that.
And I am so glad that it can be bought by everyone who loves them. I mean
what's the purpose of slapping 200,000 dollar price tag on it? LOL and
since I am a european car owner an AMG and a Corvette owner, I can tell you
this much not to many BMW, Mercedes and Audi owners pound on there chest
when A corvette is around them. I have seen many of the european car owners
put to shame. So thank you chevy for making an affordable sports car that
many North American people can afford to own.
CONTINUED You can find any car bursting into flames the Corvette is no
exception! The fact is it's old now, cars bursting into flames doesn't
happen anymore, this isn't the 1970/60s anymore. European cars are just as
solid as American or Japanese cars, if they wasn't they would have gone
bust, nobody would buy their cars! Corvette doesn't sell over and over
again! As Janusha pointed out ONLY 3000 ZR1 have been sold since its debut!

Actually a supercharger exacts power directly from the crank. So the 5.8L
engine had to have very significant power to start. But the S/C makes a LOT
more power then it costs to use it. However, they need to switch over to
more efficient centrifugal S/Cs rather than the "Roots"/Twin-screw type.
The reasons to use S/Cs is the response directly to the engine instead of
needing to spool up, responding only at or above certain RPMs, or falling
off badly when the engine slows down.

who is now closed down after damn near 100 years. The phonograph is just
one of many inventions claimed by americans since the brits did not have
patent licences that covered america. And to claim the internet as all
american is idiotic. But its all these WILD, unsubstantiated claims sparked
by the all american NEED to be best, even when they arent, that makes all
these ridiculous arguements everywhere. -
What the hell are talking about. Where have you been? Eastern Europe?
Behing a wall somewhere? The Corvette Basic 1SD $70,000.. the Grand sport
1SD $78,000 the Z06 Fixed roof $92,000 and of course the ZR-1? 1SE Package
$130,000. And obviously you have no Idea why this car was built in the
first place, so the Soldiers who returned home from War can have a great
inexpensive sports car to enjoy driving., I own both corvette and M.B. and
Corvette is all around a much better
CONTINUED. Price-to-performance ratio is about as useful as the
HP-Displacement ratio. There are so many variable factors that go into
making these cars that price goes way beyond it's performance. Japanese
Tuners have been building 1000hp 200mph+ cars for ages now, it's nothing
new. Fast cars in this age is not an achievement, it's a decision. The
simplicity of the debate is laughable. Expensive cars are expensive because
they are expensive, not because they are fast!
"I guarantee you'll eat crow AGAIN once the C7 Z06 & beats every modern
euro car worth less than $500,000 USD" Price and performance hold minor
correlation. You can spend $500k building a Rolls Royce or $500k building a
full blown LMGT racing car. It's up to you! Europeans get the best of both
worlds, the best performance and the best built cars and your end product
is a Porsche, they are well worth their price because they simply sell over
and over again.
Trolling? I'm here because i like the new C7, i think it's really is trying
to develop and move forwards, i like that it doesn't look as visually
boring as the C6 and has massive evolved in over-all design. It's got cool
exterior styling and a really contemporary interior, i especially like the
configurable gauge cluster. If only this is what the Corvette looked like
2006, imagine the standard they would be at now! Shame but better late than
never.
Not a ridiculous idea, just the laws of physics. The Corvette Z06 & ZR1 had
superior power/weight ratios to their respective Ferrari counter-parts and
you saw what happened when TG tested a 2006 Corvette Z06 vs a 2006 Ferrari
575 not even close. Or the Corvette ZR1 beating every Ferrari short of the
Enzo until the brand new 458 came out. I guarantee you'll eat crow AGAIN
once the C7 Z06 & beats every modern euro car worth less than $500,000 USD
Name any track on any continent where we find Ferraris over the Vettes The
C6 Corvette Z06 & ZR1 with ease demolished their respective Ferrari
counter-parts of their generation e/g 599 GTB and F430 Scuderia. Now you
boast that The brand new 458 and F12 can beat C6 generation Vettes so what?
Form another infamous Janusha straw man argument after the C7 Z06 & ZR1
leave their Italian, German and British rivals in the dust AGAIN
