@malehousecat I can see your angle. We are just eyeing different tiers. Not
enough companies are engineering sports cars (two door, rear-wheel,
6-speed, 300+bhp, and the looks to boot). As much as I like the performance
behind the EVO, STI, RX8, I simply don't like the design. The first two are
rally cars which I don't consider a sports car. The RX8 is like a girl that
got out of the shower and can't figure out what she wants to wear for the
day. The RX8 was a Ford crisis aversion to churn sales
@iKnollex dude i didn't mean they have the same performance, because i
don't know. i meant that it is the same base car, because, yeah they worked
together on these cars. but it is released with a scion badge only for
america. the japanese version is released with a toyota badge. i don't know
if the us version is any different. it may have softer suspensions and
such. the brz looks more badass with the aero kit and it may be faster, but
that doesn't mean it's gonna have worse quality
@NinjaRider777R One thing i clearly said is that the car is meant to be
driven RWD, and sure warranty will broken. Sadly i don´t have the money to
buy this car, and even if i would i probably wouldn't´t mod it. but this
car will be modified as hell by any other custom garage and other tuning
enthusiast. So yeah i have to agree on that. But i´m surprised how many
people comment that this car should have 4wd
shush with all this nonsense about awd and turbo systems, u all dont see
the beauty in this car. This car is supposed to be about driving
experience, and weight, as the origianl AE86. If u put turbo systems, 4wd,
all that stuff, it will get heavy and will be like a 2 door STi. How many
cars nowadays look like that, weight under 2600 IBS, Are under 25k, and are
N/A.
@aimirscatologic I personally believe the Subaru BRZ looks way cleaner and
less 'ricey' if you will. But yeah they kind of are the same car, but I'm
just sayin' I'm gonna go with Subaru just because they seem more reliable
and the better choice overall. Scion is for teenagers who want a flashy
car. Subaru has a lot of history behind it in rally sports and whatnot.
@woahITZscyan They are not the same car. Subaru and Toyota worked together
on these cars. They aren't 'copying' each other. At any rate, I'm going to
go with the STI Subaru is going to offer. It will be much better than
anything Scion releases...
@MisterPeetBull um the design team was a collaboration, and it's running a
boxer-4 engine hardly a "toyota design" But I don't care cause I like all 3
versions and will probably try to pick one up once they start coming off
lease.
this car has parts from like 5 different sports car lol has kinda of a 370
body with BMW like tail lights and LFA looks and somewhat aston martin or
something like that fenders. oh and a Subaru emblem :)
ummm I might wait after for a couple of generations to go by.... so the
manufacturers can add some 10-50hp to it through its lifespan. sorry 200hp
is a toyota camry/ honda civic level....
hate the from black out, why not paint same color? black out is only
beautiful when the front is rectangular make it more aggressive ... not
when the front is round or smiley......
from a Toyota prototype f86 to a scion prototype now its a Subaru hmm well
Subaru would be the best company for the car as long as it dont start at
over 25k in price i'll be happy
@DlRTYBiRDz yeah it's naturally aspirated plus they put a smiling mazda
front grill on it wtf! its a miata in disguise! I have no idea why you
would buy this versus the WRX / STI
i love how no one bitches about cars like the rsx type s when it got 200
hp. 8k rpms and 200 hp in a lightweight rwd package sounds like a blast to
me. fuck the trollin haters
they put a huge spoiler on a car that'll have at most 180 hp lol, well i
cant wait to see what else is coming out if they're willing to make a
miata/camry look this good!
Frankfurt Auto Show Day 2: Mercedes F125 concept, Subaru BRZ, JF Live from Germany
Mercedes is looking 30 years into the future with their newest concept car, some news on the Subaru BRZ concept, and JF reports live from the show floor.
I need to stop spending my life researching everything there is to know
about new cars, because every time I watch an FLD playlist... I've seen
EVERY video! Hey FLD, you wouldn't happen to need an audio engineer would
you? I already spend all my time researching the automotive industry, and I
know a ton about audio production for music/tv/film/advertising. I have
attended a private college and have a diploma for audio engineering. I'll
gladly move to NYC! I'll send a resume! I Love FLD!!!!!!!!!!
@thomisonnnnn Well, there are other way to generate electricity, (nuclear,
turbines, etc.), they just aren't being used enough. Nuclear is "taboo"
now, and even if you used the others, there wouldn't be enough to go
around. However you slice it, I agree: all-electric vehicles just don't
make much sense at the moment. I personally don't like hybrids either, but
I'll sooner drive a Tahoe or Escape hybrid before some over-priced battery
or hydrogen powered toy that defeats the purpose of itself.
@JAYFROMHARLEM As silly as it seems, branding is a big deal. For instance
(unless you're an old person and live outside the US), Toyota doesn't
appeal to you. You've got nothing exciting coming from them and Scion is a
brand that honestly has no appeal to driving enthusiasts. On the other
hand, Subaru constintly churns out something worth having (as you may have
already experianced). So it comes down basically to this: Which brand would
you be willing to part from your cash with?
Mercedes F125 is going in the right direction because hybrid engine still
uses gasoline in oreder for it to work. Electric engine cars are not the
answer. How do you get electricity? You burn fossil fuels to heat water
into steam to spin turbines in generators. Therefore you are left with
hydrogen cars. But in order to make hydrogen, you need electricity as the
process is called electrolysis. So we are left in a dead end. What's gonna
happen to the world of cars? :/
merc is lying their incompetent asses of. double D, you should know better
than to 'buy' a fuel cell concept from a car maker. there wont be fuel cell
cars. oil companies support fuel cell cars. that should tell you a lot.
they hate battery electric cars because they fear that will actually work.
and it will.
hi FLDCrew Kudos for a great show - love it. I have been following the
Franfurt AutoShow and must say I am disappointed - there are only 3 cars
that are interesting: Jag CX-16 VW Up (imagine this with the 1.8 turbo
motor!) BM i Cars The rest are just too whacky or too the same! What you
guys think?
mercedes F125 concept-ugly stick thin chicks-really gross subaru-fallin
apart(drift it) Lotus rally car-wanna see in action Jaguar cx16-pretty
clean and sleek, good come back MUSICALS.....COME ON keep it G Derek D,(my
lady says awesomeness)
@SubaruG27 i agree i think it is cool what they are doing but if they are
going to make the same car as toyota and scion, it should be AWD. no matter
how good that new car is, id always take the STi over it
Hey FLD crew, I've been watching your guy's show since early June! I'm a
huge fan and love the show! I am really curious as to what's the FLD crew
members favorite cars, keep up all the good work :) -Blake
That glass body will really be plastic that will yellow in a couple years.
Why not just call the production version Subaru Alcyon? The likelihood of
that is as likely as the car actually coming out!
Subaru better add a turbo and AWD in order for this thing to sell (Why have
two cars that are the same with different names, sold under different
brands?) Makes no sense to me 0_o WRX Owner
technically FastLaneDaily crew, JF is not live because this is not a live
show, it was live when you shot it, but since we were not watching you
shoot it, it is not live.
I figured JF would be calling in from Frankfurt and starting the
conversation with, "Well Derek I'm balls deep in the new Audi R8 GT with
the quattro! Blabbin! Hmmm hey!"
Cool its going to have a boxer motor. So now when i throw a turbo on it and
get 400hp my motor will blow up...GAY and now its rwd. Awd is what made
subarus fast...
@MinaBassilious Even though this is nicknamed the Subieyota because its
based off the FT86 platform, its got 100 more bhp (300bhp) then the FT86
(200bhp).
