hey man i really appreciate your help, but i got a question: i do what you say, the whole process, but at the end my cydia icon appears all blank. the thing is, that it works, or at least it can be open properly. the only difference is when i installed/did the process and opened for the first time the cydia i didnt get the "who are you" question. does that matter? well i hope you could a have an idea of what im doing wrong, if so, tell me. please. its an iphone 3gs & it also says invalid sim.

Help me please! I got stuck at the last session of jailbreaking my iPhone. I see that white Cydia icon, then I open redsnow again, find the firmware and start " Just boot tethered right now ". Then comes " Waiting for reboot ", and that's where I got stuck, so please help me.

I am normal jailbraker and some what of a programmer but i cant seem to fix this issue... My iphone 4 jailbreaks fine but once i do this and i start this up my cydia is white and crashes everytime i try to use it..

@oromisszane When you update that pretty much wipes the jailbreak. I recommend always restoring though, makes sure nothing is left from a previous jailbreak.

@Asgard2693 It's not always necessary but I recommend you do it anyway on the off chance that it helps and saves you a ton of trouble redoing the jailbreak.

Please note that do all the step exactly step by step..... & my suggestion is just jb with Redsn0w. nothing else...i tried sn0wbreese then on new bootrom had a lot of problems....redsn0w runs flawless..

please think about the ZERO in "88019", apparently it means 19th week of 2010, not 2009 so it's NOT an old bootrom.

I'm on 4.2.1 jail-broken. if I restore and update my ipod to 4.3.2. And then restore my apps from backup will I lose any app information? Or should i just update and then re-jailbreak the normal way. I'm worried about losing storage space.

I have an iPod touch 3G on iOS 4.2.1 and I plugged it into iTunes a couple days ago and it didn't show a firmware update. is it because I don't have iTunes version 10.2.1? I have iTunes 10.2.

@27isanum If they are App Store apps you won't lose your data either way. Just restore to 4.3.2 and let it sync from your backup.

@Doffingnik That's technically an iPod touch 2G, Apple isn't supporting it any more. 4.2.1 is the end of the line unfortunately.

@duncan33303 I most def thank you for the responce. But it seems my 3gs will not go into DFU mode........ its the most odd thing. Im guessing if my bootrom is new then if i try snowbreeze my phone will brick or become un jailbroken? Besides theres nothing that ios4 really gives me that im dying for lol. Ill stay at 3.1.3 for now. Thanks man. Keep the vids comin!

@DJBRICH990 for recovery just power off unplug it. hold the home button and replug it into your computer then run idector then it will tell you if you have new or old bootrom plus once its done detecting it reboot normally by holding the home and power button till it reboots just ignore itunes you dont need to update

@jonnyboywasheretoday Well i mos def dont want to try recovery. Simply bcuz Itunes will make me upgrade to IOS4. N i use my jailbroken apps everyday. I would try it but the risk right now would be more bad than good. Thanks tho lol

@DJBRICH990 To be honest I don't know what would happen if you tried to use sn0wbreeze with the new bootrom 3GS. Probably nothing good haha. Yeah if you can wait just a bit longer there will be an easier jailbreak coming.

Don't listen to this asshole, go to settings then general then about and see the model number. If it starts as MC, it's the new bootroom, if it doesn't it's the old bootroom. Hope this helped!!

How do you get your phone out of DFU mode after you test this? Bcuz if im right you have to plug it up to itunes to get it out. N my 3gs is on 3.1.3 with the spirit break. Any answers Duncan?

@DJBRICH990 Plug one end of the USB cable into your iPhone 3GS (don't connect it to your computer) then hold the home button for about a minute. That should get you back out of DFU mode.

@newsgod4life Just plug the USB cable into your iPod (not in the computer) and hold the home button for about a minute. Don't mess around with DFU mode though.
