For Sale at Urban Rider London. A 1982 Yamaha XS 650 Street Tracker. Road legal flat track syle, completely re-wired, poweder coated frame, wheels, forks.
@urbanrider51 Couldnt afford one??? Dude... I dont knowabout your country
but these are seriously saught after bikes only 10 are for sale in NSW in
australia I can find.... Ima buy one... 6-7 grand for a decent clean
one........ These are more expensive in comparrison to Harleys n I reckon
they sound as good if not better... and WAY more reliable!
@seafood360 Good question. The tank and seat unit were like that when I
bought it. 2 owners prior to me it was painted like that and I can only
assume he was a HD fan but couldn't afford one! The work I did was to
completely re-wire the bike, fabricate the headlight, powder coat the frame
and wheels and a few other small bits.
how did you hook up the back wheel?.... dont they come with a 16" wheel?
did you have to adapt a xs 750 or 1100 rear wheel with an adaptor for the
sprocket?? do tell
Yamaha XT, TT, and SR, 500cc, single cylinder, overhead cam, dry sump, oil in frame, pressure fed transmission, all ball bearing, engines. A great design, and ...
your viewers respectfully request a view of the old piston once ya get it
out. see if its scored or and detonation on top. are you goin over any in
cc on the new rings or piston? will you take the head to a hone shop or
will you redo the bore of the cylinder on your own drill press? thats the
thing about the older stuff vs. the newer stuff. planned obsolescence...
those old hondas n yamahas run forever. the new fuel injected 4 cylinder
yadda yaddas are a shop bill waitin to happen.
its just to funny, i had the exakt same problem when working in a xt500
some years ago (the problem turned out to be in the electronic ignition)
and even funnyer: just today (right now) actualy i am leafing to head to my
fathers house to change a cardan joint in a moto guzzi and i just (5
minutes ago) loadet ball end allnrenches in my car to get of the valve
cover to adjust the valves and its a pain in the but to get the cover down
without the little ballthings...
I bought a klr650 a couple years ago with a bad piston and cylinder. I
fixed it with no previous experience. The single cylinder is simple. They
don't have cam bearings though, just aluminum surfaces on the head. I think
that's their only weakness because if you need a new head its going to cost
you 4-600 dollars. Good work.
OKAY that's it!!! I want to see a logcabinlooms fail video. I want to see
you do something you aren't good at, like playing the fliddle or something
like that... =) It's like you are good at EVERYTHING! I want to see
something you aren't good at! Hee hee hee...
Thanks. I had a Honda 500 going to school. You are a man of many talents
Sir. I would like to keep taging along with you. I might learn a thing or
two. How are your dogs? Their names please. I don't think Mom has any
interest in this subject. Say Hi.
Very nice video. I love my SR 500 and it looked just like yours before i
made it into a yellow cafe racer. Lots of small mods on mine. Not
comfertable at all but very cool to ride and people seem too like the look.
Thanks for the video.I love the old Yamaha 500's also.I love that you have
left them bone stock. Now you need to get you a Hodaka Road Toad to go with
the Yamaha's.
Waaayyy back at Labor Day Weekend, had the pleasure of attending the annual Chief Blackhawk Vintage Motorcycle Rally and Swap Meet in Davenport, Iowa.
1978 XT TT500 White Brothers Supertrapp
My 1978 TT500. It is a cross of XT and TT parts. Exhaust is the White Brothers Supertrapp system and just a 36mm Mikuni carb. Running a bit rich though.
We have a bunch of XTs and TTs, parts are everywhere on Ebay, tons of them,
if you look real good you find the same parts for a lot of money or if you
keep lloking you will find them for much less, good luck!
hey do you know where you can get parts for this bike i just got one that
needs some work
1980 Yamaha TT500 pipe test.mov
We tested two Yamaha's TT500 1980 with a similar engine set up, one with a vintage SuperTrapp and the other with a reverse megaphone from Flow-exhaust ...
I just picked up a FLOW reverse megaphone today for my 77' TT500D I'm
restoring for CALVMX/AMR series here in SoCal. Can't wait to get it and
make some noise on the track!
