I've only watched 2 minutes of this video and i already like everything
about it, i've been waiting for something like this for a LONG time! Thank
you. Just hope I'm not disappointed with the rest of it lol
+Andrew McErlain Hey! Glad you liked the video, always nice to hear people like them. Out of interest how did you come across it and have you shared it yet :POk in regards to the BCM, if you have access to VCDS / VAG-COM then a quick scan of the vehicle and that sent to us can confirm if you have the correct one or not. If you don't this can be upgraded (Just need both your keys to recode). We're gonna start doing more and more videos for the T5 so don't worry...
+Andrew McErlain Just one question, how can i find out the BCM of my current vehicle to confirm ill be able to retrofit a MFSW?Great video BTW! Please post more T5 videos!!!
2012 Volkswagen Golf R Test Drive & Car Video Review
//www.autobytel.com/volkswagen/golf-r/2012/?id=32972 If you are looking for a fun-to-drive compact car that features AWD and over 250 horsepower, the ...
Because, the conclusion everyone keeps making is that you can get a WRX for
way less money or spend the same amount for an STI and get more performance
in either case. Therefore the WRX/STI win by default and the VW is totally
overpriced? It's not about all-out performance numbers per dollar. And an
ECU reflash will yield 305hp, but it still won't perform like an STI and
it's not supposed to. I'm a big VW, Subaru, and Mazda fan, and I wouldn't
buy a Golf R for the same reasons as the others.
Call me crazy, but I see the Golf R as an affordable alternative to an Audi
TT, A3, A4, or BMW 1-series, or 3-series, and other cars like that. Such
comparisons have been drawn before such as on Top Gear, the MKV R32 vs the
135i hatch, the R32 won. To me its just as luxurious as most of those and
the performance is often better.
You are correct about the emisssions. I don't think it's that hard to turn
off the stability control. pull a fuse and that should be it. The US model
is just so dull. No BI xenon headlights? no LED tail lights? No colour
coded wing mirrors? it's missing alot that comes as standard in europe
Late reply but I've got a mk6 GTI and have test driven the mk7 and it
really is a step up from the mk6. Although I do think the mk6 looks overall
better than the mk7 but that's just personal preference I think the mk7
looks hideous from behind but the front headlights are a plus.
If you are thinking ONLY of the money, then you might be right. But as a
car owner and fan, I consider a lot of other factors as well. Comfort,
versatility, reliability, etc. For everyday practicality, the VW R 2.0 is
the better car, in my opinion.
How do you Figure? Who's the competition then.....of course its the other
cars in the segment with turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, AWD, ect. Who
cares what VW says...the rest of the world will always compare these 3 cars
plus the Mazdaspeed3
The stability control can't be turned off and its the price of a wrx with a
couple of nice upgrades, still really nice but will have to be a rare
custumer. Would be a better daily driver than a wrx because of the interior
but thats about it.
You crazy....the Golf R has Bi-Xenon headlights, LED Taillights, and all
that. The mirrors are not color matched...but who cares! As long as the car
has 256 HP and 4-Motion AWD thats all I care about. Check out the US specs
at vw website
the thing i like about this guy is he always recomends getting the base
version of performance cars, i mean if im buying a drivers car im buying
for the way it drives not for how well the nav system works or how warm the
seats get
Yup the STi and EVO are main comp. The Golf R you do get a bunch of
goodies. I have driven one and I do like! But think with a quick reflash
you could make up that 50 HP difference. Still I will gladly take any of
the 3
Base WRX equipment not as compartable, more like Limited or Premium trims,
$27-30k. But the cars aren't really competitors in VW's eyes, so I don't
know why everyone, including the reviewer keeps bringing it up.
It depends on what you want. If you want a fun daily driver with a quality
interior, go with the VW. If you could care less about the interior quality
and just want performance, go with the subaru.
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the GTI. That and the driving
was pretty fantastic. I was so impressed with it as an overall package,
that I bought one a few days ago.
