Gentlemen,
These two questions are in no way a critique, but rather honest questions
regarding "strategy".
1) Isn't it a bad idea to stand directly in front of a door before you make
entrance? It seems as though anyone on the other side with bad intentions
would first shoot directly at the door.
2) There was one point in the video, at about the 2:55 mark, where you're
standing back to back in opposing doorways. Is that the only way to do
that? I mean, I can't think of any way of attacking that which isn't
seriously scary.
Thanks.
+cockerrocker Essentially yes, it's a bad idea but done commonly. Breachers are taught never to cross or expose themselves in front of the door but you see it all the time, sometimes terrain dictates. This said stepping off and allowing space in front of the door allows you to engage immediate threats If you're going to push into it anyway, give yourself space outside the room where it's easier to 'rescue' you. Back-to-back is often not seen in hallways but sometimes it's a requirement with same-side entries.
Turning My PX4 Into The Perfect Carry Gun
Facebook //www.facebook.com/yankee.marshal Twitter https://twitter.com/YankeeMarshal Turning my Beretta PX4 Storm full sized into the perfect carry gun.
I'm not really sure why you couldn't just carry with the safety off to
begin with. That's exactly what I do. The safety is off at all times so
what exactly does changing it to a type G accomplish? Other then not having
to flip it back up?
+michael davis It flips back to double action, requiring no conscious action on your part. This is an excellent feature I value on several of my handguns. Have a HK OSP 40, a Beretta PX 4 40, a Sig 2022, .40S&W, and oddly my striker fired Taurus 24/7, 40 cal. All have a decocker that automatically returns to rock & roll!I think The Yankee Marshal stated the case for the type "G" very well. Mr Guns and Gear also has an excellent video on this mod.
I'm looking for my next handgun and would like your input since you have
reviewed so many guns and seem like we have the same mind set. I currently
have 1911 full size and ultra, M9, Sug 2022 & 938. I am considering a PX4,
M&P, XD or XDM, Glock 17 or 19, and the newest Ruger 9E. Any input is
greatly appreciated.
+Christopher Shockey Get the PX4. I have one in .40S&W. It's a very gentle shooter. I have a SIG 2022, .40S&W, and a CZ 75, however, if your budget can afford it, I recommend the H&K USP 40.
I love when I hear people say they hate safety's, yet they want everything
mil spec. Guess what ? All military weapons must have safety's. Safety's
save lives...:.idiots.
+john snow I think it's only Nato nations have that spec. And, I have no -problem with Mil Spec. Lotta great stuff out there that will sate your thirst for "goodies".Personally, I think adopting the Beretta was a foolish idea. The safety is in the wrong place, on the slide. Our service men have been trained on the 1911 ( a superb hang gun, though many had challenges with it.) and the differences between the two are considerable. I hope they look closely at H&K and Sig.And perhaps a new round. Our gubmint has a shit load of .40 SW hollow points ammo they bought a couple of years ago. Do they intend to use them to defend us against the Islamic tourists in route from Syria to our shores? I think not!God bless America,Long live the Republic
Hey there... I own the PX4 Subcompact (Type F) and am really interested in
the modifications you made to the original safety.
I saw you perform this procedure with what I consider to be unusual ease,
considering you didn't want to go tinkering in the first place.
How did you become so familiar with the mechanism? Thanks.. Brandt
+Hig z Hey there... The mod that I was considering early on was the conversion of the safety and slide levers to something a little less intrusive. Beretta offers a kit (E00348) that will give the gun a bit more of a streamlined profile, but it's rather pricey. Check it out. I haven't jumped yet, but it is out there.Personally, I think I might just go with what Hoss here is doing and test my "bench nerves."
I just wanted to explain the Px4 types for your viewers:
Model Variations
The Beretta Px4 is available in four variations:
Type F: Single and double-action, decocker, and manual safety.
Type C: Single-action only, spurless hammer, no decocker, and no safety.
Type D: Double-action only, spurless hammer, no decocker, and no safety.
Type G: Single and double-action, decocker, and no manual safety.
I received an E-Mail from someone at Beretta that said the Type G was only available to Police Departments but that the conversion kit was available through Beretta.
+roadmaster100 I am not sure...but you can buy after market ones.

Beretta PX4 Storm 40-Smoothest Recoil in .40 S&W
My take on the PX4 Storm in 40 S&W. Along side the the Steyr M40-A1, this is the smoothest recoiling 40 you can get on the market. Very reliable too. Thanks for ...
