Thanx so much! Had to look for this race after rrading anout this mare at Old Friends. What a fighter! Girls Rock big mare! She collapsed after this race, she gave so much!!!

I am in a wheelchair and have been for almost 18 years.I'm 36 so yes that's half of my life.word to those who want to really know how it is in a wheelchair.get a wheelchair and follow someone that is rather active their chair.And see how they do things and what ever they do you copy it.It's not as easy as we make it look nor is it as fun as we make it look either.

I'm trying to ask this in the best way but how in the world do you get everything ......should I say up & down? I'm new at wheelchairs (a few weeks....long story) and am trying to figure out a better way to do that. I'm having a heck of a time getting everything up & down and on straight again.

I had to post this in 2 comments..... A lot of us smile and laugh just so we don't cry.Because I for one want to smack the hell out of a person when I hear oh how can it be so bad you don't have to walk or stand so how can it be that bad.

Upper body exercises do help out a little but i think muscles help more with maintaining balance rather that giving me a strong lift or push off from things. With these videos, i try to watch which muscles are being used & consequently which muscles are flexing or contracting. It was good to find out my legs do help & capture a little video of our dog hiding underneath my wheelchair. There was quite a bit of thunder while filming this video, so he thought that was scary, Have a good weekend :)

Glad you appreciated the video Samir Vojdani :) When & at what height i put my feet when transferring is quite important. Can't feel my legs so i don't realize they help me a lot. Putting legs & feet at higher positions than normal, maintaining balance becomes harder & harder. That's why i put & grab not only onto sides of the table, but i lay my forearm flat on table, providing more surface area support. Got an RCA Small Wonder camcorder so that helps the videos look cleaner. All the best :)
