Hi, April! I need your help! I am a 14 year old student and I live in the
UK. For my Design and Technology GCSEs (a national exam in the UK), I need
to choose a project to do, design it, and finally manufacture it. The whole
process takes 2 years.
I need your advice on which project that I should be taking as I do not
want it to be too simple but not too complicated. The product should be
simple but elegant. Please HELP! I need to decide by next week.
Looks great and super simple. It was great meeting you at the Memo meetup
April. i just realized why I had not seen recent videos from you...I
somehow unsubscribed but quickly corrected that glitch :) Keep up the great
work. So many excellent ideas!
hythe? hythe? did you say hythe? of the headboard.
I think you have been watching too many Canadian YouTube videos.
Height ... hite
I had to say something... this is one of my pet peeves
Next it will be "al ooh min eee um"
+Anon Ymousmie MY pet peeve is people who expect all to sound the same. People from different regions/background say things different. It makes us all unique. Just enjoy the video.
Total respect for your skills but why would anyone go from track saw to
table saw? BTW I'm a huge advocate of daylight balanced bulbs, they bring
out all the color.
I just found that the track saw makes a better cut. BTW I'm a pro photographer and my advice to all who are at your pro level of YouTube presentation is to fill every light source you have with daylight balanced tubes bulbs et et et. It really makes for better pictures overall.
I use a track saw to break down a sheet to a manageable size, then move to the table saw. Even though a track saw makes shop life easier, I don't think it beats the ease of a table saw. Just my preference though.
April, thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I want to tell you that in this nutsy and troubled world it is so refreshing to find a genuinely nice person who is following their path and also helping others along the way.
I just haven't built one yet. I have a list of things I want three pages long so I'm always having to balance between building things I want for the shop and for the home.
It would not have hurt to lay down a sheet of clean plastic, an old blanket, or something. Staples are grand until the fabric gets grubby and you'd like to wash it. I suppose you can go buy another curtain and staple it over the top of the dirty cloth cover, but all those nail heads would be covered too. I have an upholstered waterbed and after getting bored with the faux leather covering, I sewed slipcovers for the headboard, footboard, and sideboards from an irridescent turquoise/purple satin. I could remove it occasionally for a trip to the washing machine. I loved it but so did my cats and my new puppies. My bed now looks like a king-size chew toy with the stuffing falling out.
