Another way you could wire it is to tap into your curtsy light system(dome
light that turns on when you unlock your car or have door open) while also
running a secondary switch that turns them on on command. It would just
help the functionality of it.

+5150 Failure Agreed...we talked about that and many other ways, but in the end, went with a basic setup. We even talked about wiring them to the blinker with a sequential relay for a really crazy effect. We will likely integrate your idea into a future video along with some of the others we discussed. Hello. I took the power from the footwell lights and used a relais. I used a plus signal which gets activated when turning the ignition in position 1. I used the normally closed contacts on the relais. This way, the puddle lights only get activated when unlocking the doors. Installed some aditional LED on my Focus ST. Bought them on ebay for $7 and just wired them into the mirror puddle light.
