why the fuck cant people change there oil now a days? oil changes are cheep engines ARE NOT CHEEP, i dont care what the company says. 5k MILES TOPS EVEN SYNTHETIC, yes the oil CAN go longer, but the detergents in the oil can NOT go longer. man is this ever frustrating as a tech

Ivan, the issue with this Forster and other Subaru models from 2009- 2015 is extreme engine oil consumption, there has been many complaints and class action law suits. tell your wife's co-worker to top off regularly.

Engines and transmissions share many of the same properties; their oils: lubricate, help transfer *excess* heat away, and actuate hydraulic mechanisms. Dirty, thinned-out oils will kill anything that relies on them for hydraulics. I would've added 1 quart of kerosene, changed filter, and idle 15-20 minutes *before* the regular service. Take both used filters home, label with marker, and cut open for video part 2, and advise the Customer to watch the video. Without a flush- I can almost guarantee the new filter is 1/4 plugged after 50 miles- because most synthetics really clean internals well.

+Willem Streutgers Actually- kerosene is good for power cleaning, with the attended vehicle, and only used for 15-20 then drained. In this case- I'd change the filter, add 1 quart of plain cheap ATF and let her drive it 2 days- then do the normal service. ATF is less aggressive. Don't forget- the "average" filter holds roughly 1 quart- so after changing the first filter, the 1 quart of ATF would not dangerously overfill the engine. That engine is worth the small cost now.

Actually i didn't break the driveshaft there... It happened to the guy who owned it before me. He dented 2 rims and the ballance... um... pole... flatiron... and some stuff. This car was a real wreck when i got it. But when i saw the engine and how in good condition it was in i took it in. And note this car does NOT break in a few holes in high speed. The impact wasn't as much as the camera shows, the camera is held with one strap on the sun screen.

This car is a factory made rally car... well unintentionally at first. But i saved it from a 17year old kid wrecking it for fun. I abseloutely love this car, it's the best i've ever drive. It's not american, you're not supposed to replace everything after 1000miles. This is probabaly the toughest production car i know of. Very underrated car for those who have never driven it. It's a shame i can't get aftermarket parts.

I own 3 of these cars. I currently drive an '89 2wd 5spd sedan and it's a very good running car that gets great gas mileage. I also have an '89 Turbo wagon with the 4 speed automatic AWD, they're both extremely tough. I've used the wagon for everything from pulling trucks out of ditches to hauling several hundred pounds of dirt. Oh yeah, and you gotta love the sound of that boxer engine.

I love that sound. My 93 GL Wagon does the same it is gr8 pleasure to drive them off road, over rocks, mud, water crossings as well as on the bitumen. Ok I have 215/60 on 14" Sunnies and only 2" lift thus she stick to the road even in sharp turns in FWD not to mention 4WD.

correction, i dont necessarily drove with a broken driveshaft as much as you BROKE your driveshaft! those early big pot holes really arent to be driven over with speed

@evanthejew12 The favorite cars on Iceland are the jeeps and "rally" cars like a EVO or a subaru. Porches and supercars are rare on Iceland.

Thank you for dropping by my basic channel, Larry-san. I am so sorry that I seldom reply to the comments. There are some reasons for it. But I am always grateful for all the comments. Teresa made great contributions to spread JP songs all over Asia in each language. It was a great achievement. This song “Subaru” is one of them. When I listen to the Teresa Teng rendition, performed so long ago, I weep. Thank you also for the English translation from original Japanese.
