How to make Crochet Granny Circle to Square 3 Crochet Geek
Thank you for joining me on my crochet journey and for watching my videos. Now most of these crochet tutorials can use standard on the shelf crochet, knitting ...
Thank you for this super clear video. I made a blanket with nothing but
rows of double and half-double crochet, and for my second one I want to do
something a little more interesting. This pattern is perfect. My first
attempt came out one 'section' too short ( I think I miscounted when doing
the front posts, or counted the chain wrong or some such), but second one
is perfect. Every step is eminently clear. For other viewers, use the left
and right arrow keys to nudge the video back and forth a few seconds to
make things clear if you're crocheting in front of the computer like me.
@tjw1963 Hi Teresa, I was hoping to see the back too ... Do you have front
post double crochets in the back aswell? Or does it just look like a pretty
yellow circle? It would be easier to see the back, just to be sure that I
didn't make any mistakes. I'm good at that you know, making mistakes other
people never thought were possible :P thank you for all your tutorials,
they're awesome! I hope you never stop teaching me how to crochet. :) Big
hugs from Belgium!
Hi Teresa This is beautiful. I want to continue making this into a blanket.
Is it possible to just continue the square? Also, why do you cut instead of
joining new color. Is it easier? I am in the midst of crocheting a
multi-color baby blanket, and I am cutting yarn like you are doing, then
weave ends in. It really seems better than adding different yarns. Thanks
for the video
Wow another addition to my list..thank you for sharing your talent to us
and of course your precious time just to do this video alone. Very Happy I
found you here on YouTube as well as in fb. I'm sure that I still have a
long way to be great in crochet-ing, that's why as I go your videos are
here to help me.. Thank a lot! (^.^),
Thx for your videos and writen instructions. You are awesome. This square
is just what I need. I was looking for a granny square with the minimum of
holes for an experiment. I'm crocheting a handbag/tote bag recycling
plastic bags. I using bags of diferent colors that I think would look nice
using this g square motif.
@lkr5252 I am joining to the first double crochet. I find that the chain 1
with full double crochet creates a filled in, neater appearance than the
traditional chain 3. That is why I work the chain 1 DC combination instead
of the traditional chain 3.
Teresa do you recall what color this yarn that you used on this? I love it
and want to try this too :) Also last night at work I watched your story on
Forbes and found it so interesting!! Good for you Teresa!!! Thanks again,
Karl Gjoerloff
Not sure what you mean by static. If you look to the lower right of the
video, you will see a little gear. You can change the player setting to a
higher resolution if the one you have right now is not so good. #CrochetGeek
Hey Theresa, i've made about 10 of these squares since I learned how to do
this stitch[a couple of days ago]....I was wondering if you have a video
showing the best way to join the squares into a quilt. Thank you :)
I love your videos. I'm just learning to crochet and would like to think
that I'll be able to do things like this sometime soon. Beautiful! I love
listening to you as well - you have a very relaxing voice.
@terrwyns Working between each crochet stitch will work and the outcome for
the granny square will be the same. I find that working between the
stitches give a smoother look. It is a matter of preference.
@tjw1963 Cool thanks! I am going through all your granny square videos
right now making them. I am learning to do all of this since I am new to
crocheting and I love what you have! Thanks for doing these!

Is it possible to make a larger version of this ... meaning, a larger
circle before squaring off? I like making afghans that are just one granny
square forever growing in size. I would like to one with the circle in a
square, but don't want to have such a small circle at the center of a large
afghan. But in visualizing, expanding the circle by 2, 3, or more round
rows ... I don't think one could make a square out of it ... more like an
octagon or something! LOL
I'm sure you could! wouldn't you just need to count how many triple crochets you have done and divide it my 4 to see how long each side of the square will be?
