Quick review of a controversial product called: The Gat Trigger Enhancement System. I am not trying to promote any like products for sales, I only want to ...
How to reduce the weight and length of your beretta nano's trigger. Be sure to check out part 2. If you have questions feel free to drop a comment. HERE IS THE ...
you said .003" that is the thickness of a piece of paper did you mean
.030"? and I wonder how the "shock off" has been effected by removing
material from the striker/firing pin
+burningcort You are correct Sir I did mean to say .03 not .003 thanks for catching that, as far as I can tell the "shock off" protection if what you are referring to is what I am calling the striker block. Which prevents an accidental discharge in the case of a drop, actually is unaffected. That system is connected to the trigger bar and is not modified at all, in my mind that makes this modification "safe" to do. Again use your own caution and I'm obviously not an engineer for Beretta or anything just interpreting what I can see. I will tell you this, the Nano in the video is still my EDC gun and has never misfired on me once since owning it or modifying it. Hope this helps =)
Thanks to your 2 videos, I was able to substantially improve the trigger
pull on my Beretta Nano. According to my Lyman trigger pull gauge, it
doesn't seem that the weight was reduced by very much (maybe a lb. or so),
but it is noticeably smoother and the trigger break is shorter and cleaner.
The whole process was definitely worth doing, IMO. I can probably improve
it a tad more by removing just a tiny bit more metal from the striker "tab"
followed by additional polishing.
Thanks again for the tips.
+molon labe Pretty hard to ruin something if all you are modifying is a replaceable part that costs about $20... I don't understand your logic. If anything Beretta ruined a perfect carry gun with a crappy 9lb gritty trigger that has a mile of travel and makes the gun inaccurate to shoot. Most would call this an improvement as you can see from all of the positive feedback.
This video is literally the only thread online for trigger work on the
Nano. That being said, I placed an order for a new striker and went to work
before it even shipped. I filed the striker to about the same point as on
this video and I can definitely tell a difference in the trigger break.
Heading to the range in the morning to give it a test run.
Has anybody filed there's down too low to the point that the primer won't
ignite?
Thanks for the great ingenuity.
Thanks a lot I'm glad I could help out. As far as I have heard from feedback nobody has reported that happening as of yet based on the design of the way the gun works I would guess that it would fire just fine even if filed too short I don't think the problem would ever be lite strikes on the primer but instead that the striker would not catch on the reset and would only stay in the fired position. I have considered out of curiosity filing one down until failure to see what could potentially happen but I have not yet done so. Best of luck
Anyone have any thoughts of why Beretta made the trigger with a split, how
does it benefit the operation of shooting, I just bought the Nano BU9 and
wonder about that issue, I would appreciate any answers, thanks.
+00nefstvetteThe "split" or the middle part of the trigger, is not connected to the striker block. It is part of the safety system that keeps the trigger from moving rearward unless it is depressed. There is a tab on the back of it that contacts the grip and keeps the trigger from firing. When it is depressed, the tab clears the grip and the trigger can then move rearward. It also helps to keep the gun from discharging if dropped. This system has been on Glocks forever.
Richard from what I can gather the split in the trigger is directly attached to the striker block. Which is a mechanism that prevents the striker/firing pin from coming forward when the gun is cocked. That split is to prevent the striker block from moving in the event that the gun were dropped or hit which could cause the striker to jump off the cam and make the gun go off. When you depress that small break it allows the cam to rotate and push the striker block up through the little hole in the slide and out of the way so the gun can fire. To put it short it protects against accidental discharge were the gun loaded cocked and dropped. Hope that helps.

The gritty/grinding feeling/sound is the trigger bar rubbing on the
triangular block that's right before the plunger in the slide, notice the
wear mark on the inside of the trigger bar. Mine has same issue.
I'm not for sure. I do know one of the things they changed with the SD40VE
is the trigger pull. I believe it went from 12 to 8 pounds but don't quote
me. I'd take apart your gun and look at her. See what it looks like. Ike
i did there not the same i know apex makes a spring kit for the sd40 but im
not to worried about it cuz ive been thinking about trading it in for a m&p

Hey buddy where can I pick up a few of those triggers I think they're on
the market now but where is the best place to pick them up and possibly
become a distributor for the company thank you for your post
Not yet, unfortunately, it is quite labor intensive to build by hand. I am hopeful that they will be in production in the not too distant future. Stay tuned !
I have a BATF approval letter, but am not ready to release that yet, specifically because it contains information regarding pending patents. When these are marketed, the approval letter will be available. Thanks for your interest.
