adjust the gas key if that does work send it back for repair or upgraded improvement.

Tried all combinations of gas settings, ammo, and suppressed or unsuppressed with the same results.  I sent the rifle to Ruger, it is actually on its way back to me, temporarily being held hostage by FedEX as I type this.  I hope to see the rifle again Monday.  I'm excited!

I had the same issues with mine. Called Ruger they sent me a shipping ticket to send rifle back to them. Long story short They made me a new rifle (had to wait 4 weeks) have not had any issue with the new rifle. I've ran over 1500 rounds threw the new rifle with gas setting on 2 with Winchester SuperX and Hornady GMX ammo 150g. They have the best customer service around, just contact them.

+Matt Rutherford Good to here it operated flawlessly.......................Enjoy.

+uswg01 No big deal man!  You had one of the most significant videos on my decision on purchasing this weapon.  I took a chance and bought it anyway.  Just shot it Friday and it operates flawlessly!  I spoke to my stepdad about mechanical issues with the early serial number models and he said Ruger will take care of the rifle no doubt when sent in.  Hopefully it runs the way it did Friday for the remainder of my time owning it.  I appreciate your response and hope you get your situation squared away soon!  Cheers and have a good one!
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FWC_xqrPzGs/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAA4/VnPyuF1AMTo/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Matt Rutherford Oh shit sorry man!  I get distracted and am sometimes away from the computer for extended periods of time and forget to comment/reply.  My response would have been to buy the rifle anyway.  Sometimes lemons come out of the factory.  My serial is in the 113xx range, so might have been one of the last with issues.  I bought everything for my project before the rifle arrived, so I'm also thousands of dollars into this darn thing.  As soon as I have some free time I'll get with Ruger to get the rifle sorted, like I said, sometimes a POS gets released from the factory.  I have no doubt Ruger will do their part once I have a chance to send it to them.  It's unfair to Ruger for me to complain any more though, until I get the rifle to them for inspection, though none of the other (8) Rugers I own have given me any problems.  Have you been able to shoot yours?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Matt Rutherford You to on being safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

+Extreme hunter Excellent news!  My serial number is almost 14000.  I will shoot it tomorrow to sight in my new AR mod 1 Leupold fire dot scope.  I have also added a Geissele SSA trigger with the Magpul STR stock.  I've got about $3300 into this gun and expect flawless operation.  I appreciate your prompt response sir.  I messaged uswg01 a month ago but he doesn't seem to like me for some reason!  Anyway have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again for the input!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Matt Rutherford Bought it at the beginning of this year the serial number on that one was under 5000. When I talk to the Ruger tech he said they where going to re work my rifle...............I was nice about it, but I told him I paid almost 2000.00 for that rifle and to put his feet in my shoes, would you want a brand new re work rifle or a rifle out of the box that worked. He said "enough said" he would build me a new rifle but it would take 4 weeks I told him OK I'll wait 4 weeks. The serial number on this one is well over 13,000 if this helps. Like I said I have had no issue with the new rifle I really like this thing. I inspect it allot and after 1500 rounds, there no wear marks on the bolt or any part of the rifle, I do keep it clean & lube up after every time a shout. I have added a Timney trigger AR-10 SKELETONIZED-------BIG Difference over the stock trigger. Added a lasermax uni-max green dot, Magpul stock ACS-L, Magpul Grip, Atlas BT46_LW17 Bipod, Streamlight TLR-1 Light, Burris AR-536 optic , FastFire III red dot(angled at a 45 degree in front of the Burris AR-536.And I requested the PMAG 20rd Gen M3 instead of the steel stamp out mags that came with the first rifle. And they did!!!Like I said Ruger has the BEST customer service around they will listen to you.

Extreme hunter how long ago did you purchase your SR-762?  I'm hearing that the later serial numbers are being tweaked for these issues.....

Thanks for the comment!  I finally have some free time coming up and planned on contacting Ruger.  I have no doubt they'll make this thing run right!  I'll of course have more videos of this rifle uploaded when I get it (or another) back.

I just watch the rest of your video and I seen your lower and you have the newer version so you're going to have to send that into Ruger see if they can fix it... but it's a common problem they have been having some pretty bad quality control over their lately from what I understand ..they have been moving into some new facilities and expanding, I'm assuming that's probably what's leading to the bad quality control but its not acceptable so definitely send it in
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Wg0VrvIejHk/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAEU/t8N6zdBbC4k/photo.jpg?sz=64
+uswg01 it is a good rifle when you get a good running one ...its main competition is the sig 716 and it has also had its problems .. They should make the process pretty easy but I agree it does suck to have to wait for the rifle to come back.. I used to know what the lead times were but I cannot remember anymore its been awhile since I did research on this subject.. I think I have narrowed it down to being a quality control problem since they have already fixed the lower and they are still having the problem and it's not the only gun that seems to be having problems ... I would just call them right away and see what you have to do to get it sent in so that way you will have a running rifle sooner instead of later.. two months would be too long to wait for me lol ...
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FWC_xqrPzGs/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAA4/VnPyuF1AMTo/photo.jpg?sz=64
I tinkered with the rifle today at the range and everything got worse.  The rifle wont even fire now.  Looks like the firing pin is completely stuck for some reason.  There is definitely an issue with this particular rifle.  Normally I'd give up here and sell the thing, move on to something better, but this is literally the best rifle for my needs.  It will be sent to Ruger when I have the time (schedule is thick for the next couple months).  I already can't wait to get it back, and it's right here in front of me haha!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RpzhVNakn0U/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABo/KP57k7-xzCU/photo.jpg?sz=64
Gas setting 1 = short stroke. Thats all that is. The bolt release is worrying. I would send that rifle back and get another.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RpzhVNakn0U/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABo/KP57k7-xzCU/photo.jpg?sz=64
Yea, now that you mention the chamber thing again. That might be it. send it back!
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FWC_xqrPzGs/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAA4/VnPyuF1AMTo/photo.jpg?sz=64
I have to say I don't think it is short stroking when I'm using the suppressor.  I tried the rifle with all gas settings and it definitely short strokes when unsuppressed on gas setting 1, and I've seen other rifles short-stroke as well (even one of mine).  When suppressed it malfunctions on setting 1 and 2, with no signs of short-stroke.  Almost like the bolt carrier was getting partial grip on the empty case but not fully grabbing it.  I still think the issue lies with the chamber being too tight when I try to manually eject/extract a spent case when I'm shooting with the gas cut off.  If I can't extract the round myself, then that stress is also being added to the semi automatic cycle and I think throwing it all out of sync. Setting 0 is for cut-off of the whole system making it a manually operated rifle, Setting 1 is for suppressed, setting 2 standard, setting 3 is extra gas for a crazy dirty rifle, and the final setting (arrow) is for take down/cleaning.  I have tried it suppressed and unsuppressed with all settings and still unfortunately get the same results (as in not ideal for the specific setting vs rifle setup).  I still believe the core issue is with the extra friction on the empty case in the chamber.None of what I just said matters now though since I'm pretty sure the firing pin is now refusing to move (yeah it's freaking stuck hardcore).  It is rare, but I seem to have gotten a lemon.  I have had nearly a dozen AR15 style rifles in the last 15 years.  I still don't consider myself an expert, but this one has me completely baffled.  It is definitely going back to Ruger for a checkup, I hope it doesn't have the Ebola!

Stupid question Incoming. Does the 9e fit all the kydex holster the sr9 fits.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eXtIW3Zz33g/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/QFy2oA0h6MU/photo.jpg?sz=64
Being that the 9e has the same slide and frame dimensions as the SR9, with the exception of slightly different sights, you would think that you could use an SR9 holster with it.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
I bought the 9E today... I love it. He forgot to mention that the sr9 comes with the mag bullet loader And the 9E does not.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eXtIW3Zz33g/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/QFy2oA0h6MU/photo.jpg?sz=64
I bought an ADCO Superthumb speed loader from my local gun store for about $8 so it was an inexpensive addition for my 9e but still you are correct about it not being included in the original Ruger 9e packaging.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-kE8I9DwO52k/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACU/W5ld1zkWex0/photo.jpg?sz=64
I feel like the extra $100 is worth it to get the sr9, when it comes with 2 mags, a case, adjustable sights, and better machining. otherwise id just look for a used p series 9mm at that price.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+redneckmini14 you can get a hard case with padded foam for $6.99 w/ free shipping on amazon. you can get mags from CTD for $30 each. mag loader, meh. once the spring is broken it what's the point really. ok if you want to buy one of those you can get them for cheap on amazonthe savings from going with the 9E gets you 500 rounds of 9mm reman from Freedom Munitions
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Brandon_ 7.62x39 No need to justify your reason for purchasing man. I feel you, im willing to spend the extra cash too. I feel this is a good gun for entry level shooters or first gun buyers who dont know what they want. When buying my first gun I wish I would of had the option of buying a slightly cheaper version as I didnt know what I wanted at the time. It took me shooting that gun ( a Springfield xd-m Sub) and other guns a lot to where I know what I like now and what works for me. I have since sold that gun and have had many others to replace it. Thats where I think this gun fits the bill for a lot of  new gun owners. You just dont know when you get into something new so its nice to have something quality at a lower price.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eXtIW3Zz33g/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/QFy2oA0h6MU/photo.jpg?sz=64
I bought a 2 magazine value pack (made by Ruger) from buds guns for $50 delivered about two week ago so now I have three total but yeah, nothing wrong with the SR9.  When I bought the 9E there wasn't much out there for good deals on new SR9's but I did see a few pop up around Black Friday and Christmas for $350 (not counting tax, FFL fees, etc.)  For someone that wants a solid pistol for under $350, the 9E is pretty hard to beat.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-H70X_kYyDpE/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABQ/tjLswOMvNGM/photo.jpg?sz=64
i have an sr9 and love it. i had to ajust my sights due to it shooting low so im glad it has adjustable sights. the mags are about $35 a piece if you are planning on getting extra. i like the better serrations and dont mind the chamber indicator. im glad i went with the more expensive gun. i feel that it is more worth it. also the magazine loader the sr9 comes with is a must for those last few rounds in a brand new mag.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-kE8I9DwO52k/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACU/W5ld1zkWex0/photo.jpg?sz=64
+travisp11 yeah anything ruger is good quality. I have a mark 2, 10/22, and mini 14 and all r excellent.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eXtIW3Zz33g/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/QFy2oA0h6MU/photo.jpg?sz=64
I wanted to purchase the SR9 instead of the 9e but I simply didn't have an extra $100 to spare at the time and for what I purchased this pistol for, a basic range fun gun, I can live with some of the 9e's limitations. I know and believe you can never have too much ammo but in a home defense situation, I would hope you could defend yourself and your family with the 17+1 capacity of the 9e.  I am very, very impressed with the fit and finish.  Since I've never owned another Ruger pistol before as a point of comparison, as compared to my Glock, Beretta, and S&W, the 9e is easily on par for the feeling of quality it gives me.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-kE8I9DwO52k/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACU/W5ld1zkWex0/photo.jpg?sz=64
I really like the track records and pricing of the p series. I just wish they still made them. I like the sr series as well. ruger is probably my all around favorite gun company.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+redneckmini14 I have a P94 .40 as well, but I never shoot it any more. For one, I like the better pricing of 9mm, but I really think the SR series, and that would include the 9E are just far superior to the P series. Much thinner, much lighter, higher capacity, and much better triggers...and while the P94 has been 100% reliable for longer, since I've had it for nearly 20 years, my SR's have been 100% too...so far.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-kE8I9DwO52k/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACU/W5ld1zkWex0/photo.jpg?sz=64
the only thing I like better about the 9e is that it has a window instead of a flag for a loaded chamber indicator. I might get a 9e, but if I do it will probably be a gun that's subject to sell or trade cuz I also walnt an sr9c and some p series 9mms. but we will c.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
It probably is, as I have both a SR9 and SR9c, but to some $100 is the difference between taking home a gun or not, or ending up with something like a Hi Point. There are also the type of people, not me, that think 1 magazine is enough as they don't even plan on shooting the thing. I don't agree with that, but my brother is such a person no matter how many times I tell him he should do otherwise. The extra machining isn't important to function, nor is the hard case that mine haven't been back in since purchasing them years ago. I actually much prefer not having the stupid load chamber flag as I had to remove mine and file them down to a much more reasonable height. Some might even prefer the new non-adjustable sights and I think I might be one of them, but I'll hold off judgment until I handle one in person. This gun is brand new, but considering the "list price", I would expect real world pricing about $300 after a short bit, and that's a steal in my opinion if it ends up as reliable as mine have been which is 100% since day one and I suspect it should.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MiIbMYH6o0M/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABo/Vs6btgrnerc/photo.jpg?sz=64
The magazines are the same for both gun?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Yes.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
I own the SR9c. Why would I want the 9E? Even if there was a 9Ec, having the SR9c, why would I want the 9E or 9Ec?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eXtIW3Zz33g/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/QFy2oA0h6MU/photo.jpg?sz=64
+MrMeMikeT It makes a nice competitor and viable option for someone considering an SD9VE.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+89grand I agree.  With first timers looking for a gun, the demand growing exponentially, a well know gun company producing an inexpensive gun would do well even with only 1 meg.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
I own a SR9 and SR9c myself, but I doubt we are the intended market. It's like saying you have a Hemi Charger so why would you want a cheaper 6 cylinder. You wouldn't, but many that don't have a Hemi Charger might.
