OWC SSD vs Standard Apple Hard Drive Speed Test - Data Doubler Install Part 3

SSD's really do make a huge difference even on older equipment to make
everything run super snappy - and with prices seeming to drop daily you can
pick up now 64gb and 128gb SSD's for relatively inexpensive prices. It's
worth mentioning I have discussed with Boblovestech, if you can get a big
enough SSD for your needs then a straight HDD swap out rather then loosing
the DVD drive can be done with the old HDD put in a USB enclosure to use
for data not needed all the time. Great video
so if you were to use your SSD solely as your boot drive then you would
want a bigger SSD so you have more memory for applications right? I mean in
that case your normal hard drive would work as storage for documents,
videos, pictures, etc, but not apps because those would have to be on your
SSD obviously right? Also, you would be able to save your documents ,
pictures, and things of that nature straight into your "older " drive even
when you are running your OS on your SSD correct?

When I do all the installations what is the first procedure to make the SSD
start up drive with having on it all the information from my HDD drive? How
not to lose all my files and installations and the same time to have them
on the SSD as a start up disk? Great videos! Thanks
Raza, I would love to do this. Put an SSD as my main drive and get a data
doubler also. If I do this can I have my main SSD Drive for my apps and
then have my Data doubler containing all of my files and information????
example: Music/Photoshop/Premier files? :)
Robert, I would suggest getting an external DVD drive enclosure instead.
You would probably use your HD more often than the CD drive, so having it
accessible in those rare times that you need it is better, than sacrificing
a dual SSD & HD setup IMHO :)
