Flashback: Wolf Blitzer Tells Atheist Tornado Survivor "Thank God"
Flashback: CNN's Wolf Blitzer tells an atheist tornado survivor 'you gotta thank the Lord' in an awkward television moment –On the Bonus Show: Optogenetics, ...
Come on guys, give the dude a break. In a nation where the VAST majority of
people are Christan and a VAST majority of their audience is Christian, and
the VAST majority of people who survive things like that are always like
"THANK JESUS" "THANK THE LORD IM STILL HERE" you can't blame the guy when
he's obviously still excitied and happy and what not for assuming this lady
had simialr belifes.
And its not like he pressuared her afterwards or anything he just said "Oh
alright" and they had a laugh and moved on. Heck even the lady HERSELF said
she didn't blame him or anyone else for believing whatever they believed!
Like my gawd, that man's not Jesus, everyone makes mistakes. I don't see
why you guys feel so inclined to focus so heaviliy on them.
+Ramon Zarat Why would you blame someone for making a fair assumption? And if not that why would you blame him for simply catering to his audiences ideals?
It's not really Wolf's fault: as a robot, he can only adhere to his rigid
programming, and when he doesn't receive the pre-programmed response, it's
only natural that he'd go off the rails like that.
I heard that bug will be patched in Wolf v2.0
+halofandude123Studio One, no statement that's preceded by lol can be taken seriously. Two, saying something is 'fucking stupid' without saying what you're referring to, and why it's 'fucking stupid', also cannot be taken seriously.Three, when it's being said by someone who's moniker is 'halofandude123Studio', you can NEVER take what they say seriously.
btw kudos to the woman for sticking to her roots! On Live TV....wow, great
job. I don't think i would have had the guts...i might had said "ya sure,
thank the lord" and move on cuz i would have been afraid of social
repercussion for being an atheist in a bible-belt state...
+Ramon Zarat lol i hope she's doing fine. While i'm sure that she isn't being burned or anything, what's more commonly faced by atheists in America is social isolation.Atheists living in Christian communities find themselves disinvited from their friends' social gathering. They are not welcome in social clubs, or various social events. No parties, no invites, no network, nothing. It's worse than burning, if u think about it...cuz on a technical level, these Christians are not breaking any law...but what they are doing is still despicable. They are using social peer pressure to shove their religion onto others.
+T Razz Not really. It 's more like thanking a thing that doesn't exist for your good fortunes. Something that doesn't exist can't possibly be a serial killer or a mob boss.
