The Market Gardener with Jean-Martin Fortier, Part 3 Bio-Intensive Farming
Innovative organic farmer Jean-Martin Fortier, author of "The Market Gardener" shares his profitable methods for achieving success growing vegetables on a ...
I learned wide row gardening from reading Dick Raymond's book, "The Joy of
Gardening". I believe it was from the 80's. It really worked for me in a
small garden to plant in these rows and was able to put in more veggies in
a smaller space. Looks like you have a lot going on there, great job, Kim
So when you have the Canopy, does using a sprinkler watering system still
work? Does the water trickle down through the canopy and have even
coverage?
Great video and sound quality is excellent, which is not the norm,
unfortunately.

Would you please share - in written form (or link to a site that has
similar) what your growing medium is composed of? Won't cry of you don't
but would like to know:).
No actually what you shared with me is exactly what I wanted to know; especially the 4- way mix, believe it or not: I had wondered how you had obtained it- either by buying it as you said, or by digging it from your surrounding environment. Thank you very much!
+hoofstep I filled the beds about 3/4 of the way with straw and hay that had been used for animal bedding. It was full of manure from the chickens, turkeys, ducks, and rabbits. And I put in all the compost I had. The other 1/4 of the bed was filled with a 4 way garden blend purchased by the cubic yard. I don't remember the exact make up anymore. I know it is 1/4 compost. If you live in NW WA I can send you the name of the place I bought it in a PM. Won't do you much good if you don't live in the area, though.
