+TheFrozenGargonYou know it's really difficult to pick up on sarcasm when there's no spoken words. It's all done via context......that's hard to pick up on sometimes. lol
Pretty rough but this is the first time it's been run. Car is a 2002 BMW 325i with a forged LQ4 based 370 with a PT7675 CEA. Has a 4l80E and the full rear ...
Awesome build. I am planning on doing a swap in my e46 coupe at some point
in the future. For the electronics, what did you do to communicate with the
cars factory can bus system? Does the factory ecu still let interior
electronics like ac function with no input from the engine?
No link to build? Not one shot of the X5 moving with the LS2 ? Or showing
the dash instruments? Nothing!!! I'm calling you out! This never eventuated
, otherwise you'd show it off- FAKER!!!!
+Blond Super There is nothing wrong with Selector Steve being a homosexual - it's his choice; move into the 21st century! That aside, I'd like to see more details of this LS2 swap build as well.
+ls swap guru's I don't know if it's your X5, but if this car actually even moves under the LS2's power, why not show some details? Otherwise it's just a motor in a body that might not even be connected....?
just curious, how was the clearance with the steering shaft? Im working on
a basic ls swap. Already have the electronics figured out, but im a bit
worried about the clearance between the headers and the steering shaft.
Would factory cast headers fit with some modification? The reason im asking
is because im in california, so the emissions system must be the same as in
the cart the motor came from, so i can only use ca legal headers if i want
it to pass a ref inspection.
+Dropping Beats I think I have somewhere near $40k into this project as it sits. Like TheMysticSpade said above, there are definitely cheaper ways of pulling this off. Keep in mind though, that I'm talking in canadian dollars and this isn't a stock LS1 with a T56 - My car has a forged 370 with aftermarket everything, a turbo a built 4l80E and 1000hp.
+Dropping Beats Vorshlag here in Plano does LS swaps all the time. For my E46 coupe they quoted me 25-30k but that's keeping everything in my BMW functional. I'm sure you could get it done for far cheaper if you literally just want the swap in your car and running without retaining the "BMW-ness" of your bimmer.
