+Debbie Grice Usually the term rocaille bead is used when referring to a seed bead that is round in shape. In my opinion they are closest in shape to Toho seed beads. I hope this helps.

How to Make a Knotted Waxed Linen Wrap Bracelet (Beads on the Outside)
//www.beadaholique.com/yt - In this Beadaholique video, Andrea shows us how to make a knotted waxed linen wrap bracelet with beads on the outside.
There are several things that would make this bracelet much easier:
Instead of cuttings two separate strands for the center cords, cut one
that's twice the length then fold it in half. Use the folded end for the
loop that closes the bracelet. Before doing any knotting, try the loop over
the button to make a good fit. Then start the knotting just below that
point.
Instead of cutting two separate strands for the outside (knotting) cords,
cut one that's twice the length then fold it in half. Put this center point
under the two center cords and tie a single knot around the center cords.
If you're following my suggestion above, do this right under the loop. Then
start the square knotting.
In the video, talking about S's and reverse S's was very confusing until I
realized it was just square knots, and I've been doing macrame for over 40
years! When I taught macrame, I was surprised at the number of people who
couldn't keep straight which part of the square knot to do next -- right
over left or left over right. But everyone's mind works differently. So I
would wrap a small piece of masking tape onto the end of only one of the
knotting cords. Then they had to remember only one thing every time -- Tape
on Top. So easy to remember and so easy to say. Many people never realize
that the top cord always stays on top and the bottom cord always stays on
the bottom for square knots.
Hope these ideas help. Happy beading!
Yes, your technique is so much easier, although you don't get the pretty macrame button loop. I also like to string all of the beads onto the outer cords and tie a stop bead before starting. I feel this creates a better flow when knotting, rather than stopping repeatedly to string on beads. All in all, this is a very pretty bracelet, and very easy for a beginner. Aside from navigating the silly Cobra instruction. It is just a traditional square knot.

Nice! Looking forward to another of your tutorials. The website I was on, is an Australian online beadshop, and they called them, King Beads. King being the biggest of them all.
+Mermaid Jaffa I think I know what your talking about I just never heard of calling them that. I actually just got something like that they are 35/0 czech seed beads. They are huge I got them from shipwreck beads they are striped I am planning on doing a necklace with them.
They're size 10 or 12 and most are sold as sewing needles, but stocked in jewelry stores and jewelry sections of stores. Although done are made as beading needles, either will work. Just make sure the end where the thread goes isn't wider than the rest of the needle, and you get size 10 or 12. I prefer size 10 in the brand pony, which are marketed as sewing needles. You can get 20 for like $2!
+Dawn Brosnan G'Day Dawn, I would have to agree with you as here in OZ(Australia) I have the same problem. I have never found Toho Treasures on my list of Aussie buyers and also this is the first time I am hearing about them. I also find that I have a limited choice of colours. The shipping cost and money exchange rates can also be difficult on my small budget. I t would indeed be great if we also had these magnificent bead stores Down Under. Thanks Aleshia also.
Aleshia, please make a test swatch of both Myuiki Delicas and Toho
Treasures to compare the sizes. I have found them not the same size
although they LOOK the same size. It sometimes causes problems with
sizing when you switch from one brand to another. The quality of the beads
is the same.
Hi Gianna:) I have over stock of 4mm bi-cones. Would you recommend 2-1-2 on
the seed bead count? or 3-1-3 with 4mm bi-cones? thnx ahead for any
response:)! I love these netted bracelets, hoping to burn up some
swarovski's on this..
+B4Pbakup Thanks again have worked it out to a 4 bi-cone, 2-1-2 seed bead set up. Started a necklace..1200 crystals in I actually ran out! Now just waiting for a new shipment to come in of the color bi-cone so can continue it. Thanks again for all you do and the tutorials!
I've tried to capture this style from other beaders video but couldn't but

you, you are a darling

How to Make Green Seed Bead Braided Bracelet with White Pearl and Fuchsia Crystal Beads
In today's video, I want to show you a pearl and seed bead bracelet pattern. Do you like it? Go gather the materials on //www.pandahall.com/ Pearls: ...
+Amanda Harper Dear, please share your bracelet work on Facebook with us. Search PH-learningcenter on Facebook, or click: https://www.facebook.com/pages/PH-learningcenter/400863680020092. Do show us your photo please!
+Carla Kania Yes, similar. On our site, 2mm equals to 12/0. You can check our 2mm seed beads on: //www.pandahall.com/round-seed-beads/229-1-12-0_2118.html !
+Pandahall Beads I'm almost finished this design using smaller 8mm pearls. You only need 4 seed beads(cross on 5th) and it's strung onto size D fireline, it's working out fine, a little more dainty :)
yeah i did it, i will video it as soon as all my teenagers quit taking
them! i didn't crimp, i knoted a ring into the knot and put the lobster
clasp onto the ring. on the other side i looped the hemp through the ring.
also i tied a full knot between beads, after the bead i did one side, then
the other, then one side and the other, then another bead. video, probably
tomorrow....
I hate when people bust apart simple videos... it's just a money making
scheme. The more videos they make you watch the more advertising revenue
they get. It's pathetic to do for such short videos... sometimes it's
necessary but only for super long videos.
I usually look for the thinnest hemp since it makes more elegant bracelets
when you are adding on beads. I found walmart had pretty thin hemp but I
was hard pressed to find the black. For the most part the one I pick is
about the size of embroidery floss.
I made the hemp bracelet with embroidery string but it ended up all
spirally and I don't know why. I retried to do it about 3 times but it
still ended up spirally. Please answer because I love this pattern but I
can't make it right!
Yeah, you could. It will be a bit flat like a zipper pull but it would
work. Not sure if it will be good for making an adjustable closure since it
will not be round though. Your best bet will be clasps with crimp ends.
Have you ever thought of using Waxed Linen???? its just as strong as hemp
if not stronger....in my opinion. they come in different colors and
thicknesses so you wont have to worry about the "little hairs" of hemp.
I just made my first hemp bracelet with the clasp endings the other day. It
turned out pretty cute. I hope that once you get your new craft room
finished that you could start making more hemp bracelets videos! :)
Haha... yeah. You don't need to pull THAT tight but it is a bit harder to
pull since it has tons of those stray fibers all over the thread- since it
has so many and they are fairly rough it creates more friction.
Hurray! I looked for some other how to vids on youtube, but their teaching
style and format sucked. Found one that was like ten 2 minute videos for
one bracelet. I like where yours is just one longer video.
I'd say the easiest way would be to stagger the knots having extras on the
sides. I could try to work on a pattern I guess... I'm more of a "do it and
figure it out" person rather than doing it in my head.
Ah, that's definitely why. Square beads would definitely help keep FB
string from slipping around but with round beads it just insists on
slipping around to one side of the bead if it's a smooth surface.
I'm so confused. I went to Pat Catans and looked out for the match of your
glass-beads but I found nothing. What is it called and where the store I
can order or go to the store in public? Thank you.
I love watching your tutorials but you went way to fast on how you did the
knot. I'm trying it right now, with hemp and everything, and I must be
doing it wrong because my knot keeps coming undone :(
Thanks for the video. This was well done, got to the point, while still
explaining it well. Some videos people work so fast and don't speak it
throws me off. Thanks for a well put together tutorial.
You'll use crimp ends first to hold the strands together... then the barrel
clasp (or any clasp you prefer) can be attached. They can be found at any
craft store in the jewelry making section.
I'm not sure really. I guess you could try the friendship bracelet thread
if you use two instead of a single strand- maybe that would be enough to
hold the bead but I can't say for sure.
Sounds like you were making the same type of knot for either side causing
it to turn in to a Chinese staircase. I was using forward knots on the left
and backward knots on the right.
This is very pretty. I am looking for some fun crafts I can do with my kids
this summer. I think even my boys would like doing these they too like the
friendship bracelets.
I don't actually... I can try to get one posted eventually but you could
probably find one already posted. (YT SEARCH: Beaded Loom Bracelet Tutorial
or something like that)
I'm currently making one of these for my self injury recovery and I keep
pulling the hemp super tight, I'm afraid I'm going to break it, I'm not
used to such strong thread.
How do you create a loop to secure the bracelet instead of using hardware?
I like the bracelets with the loop at the end that you push the big knots
through! Super cute!
