For full show notes visit the blog at; //goo.gl/ANruF5 Wiper blades are one of the most important things on a vehicle. Sadly they are also very often ...
Bosch direct fit wiper blades run me about five bucks a piece. I change
every 6 months. They perform well. I don't think many wiper blades are very
effective after 6 months anyway. I've used almost all of them, and I'm
really suprised how poorly many of the expensive ones performed
Have you done any tests or comparisons with the Trico Onyx blades? I have
been using these for the past couple years and the Raineaters are the only
set that has me even thinking of switching.
Based on the picture of the fitment, it seems like once you're at highway
speeds and the wind is pushing the blade on to the windshield it could
possibly hit/scratch the plastic area around the windshield. Do you think
this is possible?
I am also big on replacing wipers frequently, and I too have yet to find an
aftermarket blade that is worth anything. I live in upstate NY with every
kind of weather imaginable so my wipers get a lot of use. I drive a Ford
and use the Motorcraft blades which I'm pretty happy with, but I think I'm
going to give these RainEaters a shot next time I need to replace them. I
once tried a set of pretty expensive Anco blades and they were awful. One
issue I've found on my car is every parts catalog has the wrong size for my
car (2012 Fiesta) and I think the Anco's being too small was part of the
problem. I also think that due to the size of the windshield they should
have made the wipers the kind that go from the center (like the Focus)
instead of to one side.
+ryansauto93 I find it hard to believe that bosch doesn't have blades for such a popular car like a fiesta. As for performance, they are extremely quiet, they wipe the windscreen crystal clear, and even under the harsh greek summer sun, they last a long time, about 1,5 years with excellent results. After that mark, they start to leave some marks, but that is expected
+dimos k Haven't tried those but I know Bosch blades to be very high quality. Last I checked they didn't have any Bosch blades for my car, they may have them now. I actually just put a set of Rain Eaters on and I'm very happy with them.
Even though I don't own a vw. I still love your videos about car part
failures. You seem like a genuinely nice and friendly guy. I'm glad I've
found your channel. Ontopic, I've not replaced my wiper blades in over a
year, from chicago so we get lots of snow and rain but yet my wiper blades
work very well for such a long time....crazy.
+Wukash13 Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate that. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago so I totally know where you are coming from. It is probably why I am so OCD about wipers.

Windshield Wiper Replacement (Bosch Icon Wiper Blades) FCP Euro
//www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/ ▻ FCP's Zach Miller is here to walk you through how to replace your old stone-age wipers with new Bosch Icon single blade ...
This is quite helpful. Thanks. The directions that come with the wipers are
useless. There are just pictures and no directions. The
"directions/pictures" are also hidden in the inside back of the packaging
which you will never see if you open the package from the end and slid the
wiper out. What is confusing is that to remove the wipers on a Honda Fit
you pop up a tab in the middle and pivot the arm out. For the Bosch there
is a similar tab that pops out in the middle which looks like and seems to
be the entry point of the arm depicted in the "directions", and it isn't.
There is another one accessed on the side which is necessary to pop out.
Also if the middle piece does come out (which can happen easily and it did
with me) it can go in in either direction, only one will work. Bosch should
invest $.05 for an installation pamphlet with actual words. The wipers seem
nice but the installation leaves a bad taste in your mouth. This is quite
frustration for me as I have changed engines, transmissions, brakes and
most other parts of a vehicle and having difficulty with this makes me
angry. I also spent 25 years in Quality Assurance and I would never have
allowed this to ship as it is. Accurate documentation is a key for end-user
satisfaction.
