Male Massage Therapist - How To Be A Massage Therapist Masseuse
I am 22 and starting massage school in January. I'm excited to finally get
a career going. I see myself in this field and my cousin is a male
therapist. He said it's a good career.
I heard an advertisement on my local radio station encouraging this career.
Everywhere I look, I see negativity for men therapists. I even had someone
who is a masseuse, who is a female, telling me that I would not succeed in
this career because of my gender. I definitely would like to try to pursue
it. So I'm doing more research, and perhaps I will try to get into a local
college to become a male massage therapist.
+J.R. Bjornson Hi J.R. You can absolutely be successful in Massage Therapy as a male. Most of the top requested people where I work are male. Reach out to me on Facebook if you have any questions.
I don't think YouTube allows me to share my email here... what I'd do is ask if you can sit in on a class. Talk to the other students, talk to the instructor, get a feel for it.
It may be a bit harder, but not really. As long as you position yourself as being really knowledgable, and you aren't creepy, most people don't mind having a guy. And there are also people who prefer having a male therapist because they think they're stronger. Good luck!
