Just the other day there was a small Honda parked in a shopping center's
lot here in California and it looked completely standard to me, but when I
walked around its front right corner of the car it was parked with its
tires turned at a slight angle but they overshot the car's contour
significantly enough for me to rap my knee against it while looking for my
keys and because of it being rubber out in the hot sun it grabbed the
fabric of my pants enough that it didn't just brush by, it hurt!
In this case, camber is done on purpose. In the Japanese car culture as
well as most of the world car culture now, that can be considered as
"classic" and cool. It's a thing of style, same way some people pay
attention to their clothing style, others look at their car styling.
Obviously not the most practical setup in the world but functional enough
to be used daily. Oh and he is running a static suspension kit from the
looks of it. Hope that answers your question.
Woah, calm down grammar nazi. You know nothing about cars or suspension
setups. Absolutely no Idea. 1st off, the tires are so much wider he has
more grip than he would have had otherwise with standard tires with zero
camber. He does have a bit too much camber to actually help him in
cornering, but the large width makes up for it so its not any worse than
stock.
i always have been interested in different countries terms or slang. for
instance in the the US we have french fries and over the pond in UK its
Chips, here in the states we have chips which you would call crisps. Things
get confusing and amusing at the same time. Also, my favorite has to be
"fanny packs" in America which i think you know why i find it funny.
Funny that you posted this today cuz just yesterday I saw these tires on a
car in San Diego. I thought it was ridiculous cuz they seemed to scrape
against the fenders when he hit bumps and his were slanted more at an angle
so the tires point of contact with the road was a narrow strip.I wouldn't
be surprised if he specially ordered them from Japan.
It looks like he put V8 Supercar tyres onto it except they have tread & it
probably turns better while doing road speeds (V8 supercars don't corner
very well at road speeds, Top Gear Australia found that one out). That is
an old Skyline, I like buying up old Japanese cars in Gran Turismo, I know
I have a couple Skylines from the 60s & 70s.
I know about tire wear. Camber doesnt cause much tire wear when its off
just a little bit. Toe causes tire wear by being off just a bit. However,
camber absolutely causes shoulder wear and deg pretty quick when camber
levels are extreme..as in the case of these cars.
Those look like wide tires made wider by special rims. As you can see, the
sidewall doesn't curl in like it does on a normal wheel, rather it flares
out. I suspect that there is a tube in that tire, since those sidewalls and
the bead aren't sealing very well.
Ooh! So much better than that nasty looking Hachiōji-style tuning you see
around here sometimes. These cars are always a good reason to slow down and
have a good look at them. Japanese classics are best classics, especially
with fitting mods.
yeah you'll eat through tires with that camber you'll have a strip of tire
that's fine but that's the part of the tire that you don't ride on he needs
a bigger tire to stretch and that's far from the most aggressive camber ive
seen on a car
Dude, You're exaggerating it big time. Sure he does have quite a bit of
camber but it wont eat through it that fast, as long as he doesn't have any
toe. And the tire isn't on the sidewall, its on the tread. The stretch
isn't that extreme.
whenever I see this I always wonder, does he need a camber correction kit?
maybe pillow-ball mount? is it a hydraulics setup? or is he doing that on
purpose? I'm not judging, some people like it that way and it's totally up
to them.
Sick! Esp a older skyline like that. That's what I miss about being in
Japan, rare wheels are so common and easy to find. Run down to super
autobacs or up garage and pick some good sized wheels up for uber cheap.
Aqui na Europa também e´ilegal esse tipo de rodas --- poder andar ate
podem mas se for parado pela policia ter de pagar multa... eu falo
precisamente de Portugal.
like forever for channel (~_^))
I'm not a fan of the style, myself. But, it is very common with the
"old-school" cars here. Wow, the close-up revealed a bit of rust in the
rear. Again, very common with he older cars here.
They arent fat. Theyre just stretched. Its Stance and Fitment what its
called. Wide wheels and skinny tires stretched to allow the wheels to be
flush or poke with the fenders.
This is very common on both old cars and drift cars here. It's amazing what
people will drift here in Japan. For inspection the tyre is supposed to be
inside the wheel well.
lol. you are a fucking idiot. you can't get shakotan low without
camber....unless you wanna tub your car... He lowered the damn thing just
fine...it is you who has no clue.
YES! More of these types of cars please! would like to see all sorts of
Stance cars ( cars with wheel set up similar to this car). Also would like
to see some VIP sedans
Also to people not in the know, the tires stretched like this does
absolutely nothing for performance (hurts it, actually) and is done for
aesthetic purposes only.
Been a long time since I have seen them here in California. I had a
co-worker who had a Nissan truck that was lowered with those tires, it was
cool riding in it.
Great catch Dude, I think a lot of us petrol heads all dream of driving a
C110 Skyline one day. That camber is pretty silly but there are even
sillier examples.
Yep, stretching tires like that in Japan is called "hapari" and also, that
was a Nissan Skyline C110 "kenmari," the rarest Skyline of them all. Good
find.
Maybe not worse than stock, but the camber has negated the bonus he has got
from widening the tyres. You don't want camber on the rear, only the front.

Hey guys. Superb movie. My buddy was once flabby. He transformed himself
from 279 lbs of pure fat into 219 lbs of full-strength muscle mass. We
think it is astounding! I just signed up myself coz I'm trying to get
heftier muscle mass. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible (Google it)...
This is a stupid question but I did this exact exercise and my knees hurt
afterward. Perhaps it was due to bad form but do the knees hurt with good
form as well?
I like the workout this gives and I want to continue but not at the expense
of my knees.
