Can-Am G2 Outlander ATV - A look "under the hood"
How to remove the gauge support, console, and seat from a Can-Am G2 Outlander ATV and what's underneath - fuse holders, intake, vent tubes, air filter, battery ...
+vator exca05 i have a brand new one for my 2003 honda 350, i sold it and bought a 2014 outlander 500. Just wondering if it would work in it if i needed a battery
NOTE: There is a mistake in the video where I incorrectly identify the vent
hoses. The correct identification is as follows:
The cluster of 4 are:
1) Front differential.
2) Rear final drive (rear differential).
3) High / Low range gearbox.
4) Fuel tank.
And the single skinny one on the right side (which I erroneously called a
fuel vent) is actually the electric cooling fan vent hose.
+minecraftkilla235 thanks. I hate having to have the diamond plating on the fenders but after snorkels messed up i was not going to pay 500 dollars for new fenders.
I have an 07 crf250r. When on the stand when I start it up, usually once
every Saturday if not riding. I try to wick the throttle open while idiling
and the engine bogs. Could this help? Just got the carb cleaned and new
jets so I think that might be it too. :/
Yes that can affect the very first part of your throttle. If you haven't installed one of these quick adjust fuel mixture screws you can try to adjust your stock mixture screw and see if that cleans it up. Use your service manual and this video for the proper procedures and settings. This slight hesitation could also be caused by other jetting settings such as your leak jet. This controls the amount of fuel let back into the float bowl from the accelerator pump and therefore controls how much fuel the accelerator pump shoots into the intake as the throttle is wicked. Try adjusting your fuel mixture screw first and that will tell you if your pilot jet is correct or not and then go from there. If you run into any questions let us know!
2007 Polaris Outlaw 525 engine rattle
The air cleaner came apart and this knock was caused by foam stuck on top of the piston. No dirt was found in the motor, so I got lucky.
The 525 is noisy to begin with but they are notorious for the crank nut
coming loose. Take the clutch cover off and see if the crank nut backed
off. If its loose then it will make all kinds of noise and it will get
worse the more loose it gets. The first year or 2 525's were bad for this.
The new ones have been fixed. Sounds like your valves need adjusted also.
@DeanB44 That sucks. They say the KTM needs rebuilt every 100hrs or so
anyways. Once you do the rebuild put in a 12.5:1 piston in. Dont go stock
compression. You can still run pump on 12.5 compression and you will gain
some more torque. Junk the stock air filter. Get a K&N with outerwears or a
Uni dual stage filter.
I'm about to buy a 2009 525 S, what ended up being wrong with it? I'm
scouring cyberspace trying to find things I should look out for when I
inspect them before purchase! I owned a 2004 KTM 525 SX that I converted to
a 6 speed Supermoto and raced. Never had a problem with it and it was run
hard for years!
Sounds like my outlaw right before it ........Well dont know but it got
louder than than when i let off the gas it sounded like a train coming
apart.. it is in the shop now so i can let you know what they find...
@kjsmolik I just watched the video again and it apprears that the ticking
sound is not effected much by the clutch, but the deeper rattle sound is
reduced when the clutch lever is pulled in.
They never get very quiet. I rebuilt the top end and replaced the CCT with
a manual unit due to 'play'. Still sounds like a KTM. Quite exhaust equals
noisier engine as well.
@wranglerguy106 All the nick nacks were on the quad when I bought it.
