actually i guess i should have been more specific...i was agreeing with
your comment on wasting money, going in debt and then not being able to
find a job...i have 2 college degrees. they helped me somewhat but i went
in debt for them and it was a big mistake but that's all behind me and no
more debt. btw...thanks for your review. it helped me decide not to
purchase this tablet/pc as it is not capable of handling the applications
that i use my computer for. looks like that will be a while
Good review! I use it with an external drive, large screen, mouse and
keyboard at my desk and still have a light, compact laptop to travel with
or use around the house. It is relatively easy to switch between functions.
I wish the display would fold all the way over to make a klutzy note pad.
Still trying to get comfortable with Win 8 metro interface, I prefer the
desktop interface.
Okay first, let me say you're hilarious! Second, I own this Laptop and I
really like it, the only issue I'm having is the headphone/microphone port.
When you plug something into it something will pop onto the screen asking
if you want to use it as a mic or a pair of headphones. The issue is,
sometimes that thing doesn't show up. I'm a student, so I need to use a
microphone.
Hey, this is one of the laptops I'm considering for a very portable
solution, and I just want to say thank you for sharing your impressions.
There are plenty of tech sites to cover the in depth reviews, & I for one
think that your personal "real user impressions" have been helpful.
Why are you putting down people who want to go to school? You don't hear
them making fun of you because of your weight. At least they will have a
degree and nobody can ever take that away from them & it's only money bro.
Knowledge is priceless IMO
I've heard that some people like you thought that reaching for the screen
would be a pain, but apparently after trying it out it's actually fairly
natural, especially on Windows 8. Not exactly scientific, but just so you
know.
I'm pretty lazy and reaching across a distance to touch a screen seems like
work. I could do the same thing with a mouse without lifting a hand, no? I
agree it's a great slave app. Great review. Screen looks good.
While you may have missed just a couple things like battery life and screen
reflectivity I Just wanted that you did a really good review. I've bee
working with computers for about 30 years now (since before even desktops
hit the market). I've done written reviews, live demonstrations and had to
do sales pitches at meetings for executives. Just wanted to say again that
this was a well done review. You thought it out well and came across as
knowing the product well as you presented it. Well done
Brandon: Please do a video for your subs downloading League Of Legends,
then play like a game of LoL and that's it! So can you do it for your
subscribers please? Atleast for me! I'm thinking of buying it but I don't
know if it can handle League of Legends without lagging and without
crashing! I hope you can consider this idea and help me! HOPE YOU DO THIS
FOR ME AND YOUR SUBS! GL, you're doing great on your vids! -GioPvP
if you go to the windows store, you can download apps i.e. facebook,
twitter, etc. I've seen two for instagram. instagram now and instagram
explorer+ I don't know how great they work because I myself haven't
downloaded them but they have decent reviews for the most part. good luck
I have had one for a year and -- warning -- the keyboard can be finicky.
My backspace button dysfunctions every few weeks. I have to open the back
and push the keyboard connector back into place. It's easy and there are
how-to's here on YT, but it's a pain.
do they have a free version of this? and is it on the windows 8 store or do
you have to download it from the internet? 1 more question, on a scale of
1-10 with 10 being the best, what would you rate the editor? -Josh
How do you change the battery for this laptop? I see tat the replacement is
not easy at all. I have a similar laptop and I'm wondering how can I
replace the battery when it stops working?
Hi, thanks for the review. I wanted to ask would you recommend it for
university. So for using daily, for homework, projects and essays. Also
does it have Bluetooth? Thanks
This is a wonderful review...like for the age you sound, I really enjoyed
it...except maybe for the constant focusing of the camera...but no big
deal....great job!
Looks great! I'm getting one for Christmas that my dad got for $300. Thanks
for the video. Also, just wondering, where are you from? Your accent is
interesting.
I knew it was the South. I'm from Georgia, but you definitely have the
thicker accent. Anyway, keep up the good reviews. I need these vids... so
helpful!
its not a roof its a little shed that is waist high and the natural light
makes the video look alot better when showing the ports
Asus VivoBook Q200 and X202 Review
Lisa Gade reviews the Asus VivoBook Q200 and the X202 Windows 8 touch screen 11.6" laptops. Both have the same casing and features except the Q200 is ...
UPDATE -- FEB 12, 2015** -- While I originally gave this laptop a good review and thought it was a good budget laptop, in good faith, based on my recent ...
Sorry for not recommending this laptop for many reasons but I will only
mention a couple of them:
- Short battery life
- Can't upgrade memory (for example from a model that came with 2 GB to
4GB)because it is soldered into the motherboard
- I would downgrade to Windows 7 or use another OS, like Ubuntu for better
performance
Please note that I worked on several ASUS products such as Laptops,
Desktops, Routers and motherboards
I highly recommend but just remember, your satisfaction would depend on
how much you are wilingl to spend and what are you going to use it for!
The time where computers came with Office suites (from various vendors)
were sweet but are long time gone! So you won't get any office suites with
this laptop especial MS Office (maybe a trial but I did not see that for
many moons ago).
I hope this review helps anyone looking to purchase this model even though
ASUS is a good brand to go after!
That's a big difference just in the fact that you're talking about two
completely different operating systems, unless you use Boot Camp to put
Windows on the Mac. What will you primarily be doing? Also, with an older
laptop you need to worry about the conditioned with the battery, as it can
lose a good chunk of its charging ability. It looks like a MacBook Pro that
old is still selling for more than this one new, around $600-700. For that
price, I would get a more recent ultrabook instead.
Haven't used it personally, but from what I see there are a few
differences. I see the battery is a bit bigger in the Acer, as it is a
3-cell battery vs. the Asus' 2-cell. The Acer is made out of cheap plastic,
where the Asus is made from surprisingly higher quality materials (soft
touch bottom, brushed metal on lid and surrounding keyboard area), given
the price of the laptop. On most versions of the Asus you get an Intel Core
i3 vs the AMD chip in the Acer. I personally like the Asus.
What brightness you set your display at is a large determination of battery
life. That being said, if you keep the brightness rather low and are just
using a program like Microsoft Word, you may get 5 hours out of it. The
battery on this laptop is definitely one of the weaker points.
Comparatively, many laptops costing twice as much or more will give you a
few more hours. Also, new laptops with Haswell processors will increase
battery life around 25-30% or so depending on the situation.
Processors are almost always not upgradeable on laptops since they are
usually soldered into the motherboard and can't be replaced. In any case,
if you were looking for an i5 laptop, it would just be worth it to get
another laptop at that point. This is really a budget laptop, and for the
price you can get it at now it's a very good deal considering at this price
point for the size of the laptop and the features, you usually can't even
get an Intel Core processor to begin with.
While this laptop has touch capability, it's doesn't have Wacom or other
stylus support, so you won't get pressure sensitivity when drawing, etc.
I'm not really familiar with gimp, but if it supports just a normal touch
screen, I would think you can use a generic stylus or your finger to draw
on the screen, but you're not going to get a pen-like experience with this,
and need a laptop or tablet that specifically supports a Wacom-like stylus,
like the Surface Pro, for example.
It really depends on what games you're talking about. In general though,
when I think of gaming, this isn't really a laptop that is made for that --
this is more of a cheaper student laptop that can handle web browsing,
watching videos, Microsoft Office, etc. very well. It can maybe play some
games that are not very demanding, but that would be about it.
asus s200e-ct198h with intel celeron 1.10ghz works well , . it depends on
purposes either you'll buy low specs of laptop or high specs. .for
files, documents, excel, powerpoint, saving docs, photo editing, i rather
choose intel celeron, it has low price, it saves money, a practical ideas,
practical budget as well.
this asus notebook pc works well.
What version of Age of Empires? I really wouldn't look at this laptop for
gaming at all, since it has HD 4000 integrated graphics, plus the fact that
it's only running a Core i3 processor. It's fine for using Microsoft Word,
browsing the internet, etc. etc., but that's all I would really recommend
running on this laptop.
Yes, both the S200E and X202E come with WiFi capabilities, but the S200E
does not have Bluetooh or WiDi support, where the X202 does have Bluetooth
and WiDi support. You can upgrade the wireless card in the S200E yourself
for about $30 though that will give you the Bluetooth and WiDi
functionality.
My keyboard has stopped working, is this a common issue? Such a shame as I
like this little laptop a lot. Is it like my HP laptop where I only need to
reconnect a cable, it's webcam didn't work. If someone could tell me what
part number I need or if I could fix this without buying a part.
Hi, This Asus S200E comes with different processors, can you let me know if
there is a performance difference between the icore3 and Intel® Pentium
B987 version? I would mainly be using the laptop for light Microsoft work
and predominantly internet browsing. Thanks in advance!
I always hear different estimates for battery life and different
circumstances under which it is calculated. I need a notebook simply for
word processing. If I were to be doing that and not surfing, how long do
you think a battery charge would last for the S200E or the X202E?
for 426$ what I brought my model X202E I love this it is strong enough to
run some download games without lag of course it depends on the game
persay, Normal browsing I do not have lag either. If you keep it updated
shouldn't have much problems at all.
The intel HD 4000 is actually a little better than the Geforce GT 610 in
some cases, but games which are a couple of years old would play perhaps on
medium to low settings just fine. Don't expect to play the very latest
games that well though.
I have the q200E asus intel corei3 and im so mad mine did not come with an
external hard drive after watching this video. I did get it on sale for 400
came out to be 420. what do u think about that?
Would this suit me for streaming a lot of online videos, like putlocker?
Occasional playing of Sims 3 or Minecraft, as well as casual use like
Microsoft office, Youtube, Skype and Facebook?

No. i3 and Celeron are completely different processors. You can still
return it I believe. Also, this is a lesson to you. Never EVER trust a Best
Buy representative on any spec related subjects, most of them know nothing
about computers. Always research at home, so you know what you want when
you walk in. The little info plates at Best Buy usually miss important
information. This is coming from someone who fell for the same thing 6
years ago.
Hi I just purchased the same notebook Q200E and when I spoke to the bestbuy
representative he told me it has an i3 possessor. When I got my notebook
home though I noticed all it said was intel inside as the branding next to
the track pad; when I checked under computer info it says Intel Celeron cpu
1007u @ 1.50 GHz. Is my notebook an i3 based of those specs?
How is its gaming performance with the HD 4000 GPU and the i3 mobile CPU?
I'm curious how it'll run low demanding games like Dota 2. Also, this is
the same laptop as the one sold as the Vivobook S200e in Europe, correct?
(Isn't it frustrating how some brands use non-descriptive names like these
laptops and change them depending on location?)
yeah i love it too! do you know how to play music or sound from videos
minimized in windows 8? I haven't been able to figure out how to play
pandora in the background while using ms word(or any other app). Not quite
use to windows 8 yet.
i think the major diff may be the processor and maybe bluetooth. but you
can buy a dongle for $2 on ebay , which i did :). I checked, and ram is a
no go. you can't upgrade ram, it's sealed and the ram chips are soldered
in. kinda sucks.
Check Out The Review here___--- //www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3lo1xW6Imw this thing is awesome it has an 11.6 inch screen that is full touchscreen tats ...
i have this same computer only i paid 636$ but i did get a year warranty on
it and some anti virus, but never mind that i also like how it has the
touch screen that is the only reason i got it and not a different computer.
But my favorite is how it is so thin compared to most laptops. it is faster
than the i pad thought. but loading games it is about the same so what do
you mean? but overall i love the computer, and great video you really know
your stuff.
It has integrated graphics. Most new games are laggy, one of the games that
play the best is Civ 5, with min lag. It can play CoD Black Ops II but
takes about an hour to load every mission.
Thanks for the review - I followed your first video but have struggled with
Bluetooth - I ended up using the AZIO dongle but I can't get any drivers to
work/last long - It looks liek you have a Bluetooth dongle on there - Can i
ask what Bluetooth driver are you using?
Great job man. I watched the first video as well and this is was a very
honest and well done set of reviews. Better than most "professional"
reviews I saw.
