@Arjun Singh.....Actually there r 2 models of z500 59-370611(mine and later
model) and 59-341235(previous model)....Mine has GT635m and i5-3230-2.6Ghz
and previous model has GT645m with i5-3210-2.5Ghz. Prize is 52000
INR(59-370611)
i have this laptop. 3rd gen i7 ,1 tb hard 5400rpm hard drive, 2gb vram gt
740m. Though the battery life is not that good, nonetheless, awesome
laptop! price is around Php 43k
Got one........NO backlid keyboard.........Graphics is 2GB Nvidia GT635m
instead of Nvidia GT645m (Big difference in performance)...........Feeling
like cheated........
In this new video I am taking a quick look at the Lenovo Ideapad Z500. The Lenovo Z500 is a mid range media/gaming laptop with an Intel i7 quad core CPU ...
Wow thank you for you fast and prompt response! You saved me alot of
thinking time. I am actually quiet shocked to see the score is quiet low! I
want to buy dell xps12 convertible. However I am a pro video editor and
also do a lot of image processing. Thought to buy that for quick edits when
Im moving around and then transfer it to my desktop till I see this Lenovo!
Now lenovo is a proper laptop, dedicated graphics and also alot more ram
compare to xps12 which is a limited ultrabook!
After a quick look about the net, that score is awful. I bet with removing
some of the crap that comes pre loaded it should improve. The laptops is my
step son's and he is away for the next week and a bit, but when he comes
back I will have another play and see if I can better that score. What will
help the Dell is the SSD HDD as the HDD in the Lenovo is a 5400RPM. If I
can get my hands on a SSD I could try again.
I am interested in Z500 core i7 but considering reviews it has an
overheating problem, now I'd like to know whether this problem has been
anticipated by IBM (so, this is just unpleasant to the user and won't
affect the machine's performance) or it's the result of a poor cooling
system design...
Hi I was wondering what laptop I should buy, I have a £500 budget and would
quite like it to be able to do tasks for school like word etc and I would
also like it to be able to play Rome Total War 2 at a decent spec. Thanks a
lot, help would be appreciated. Love the videos by the way :)
i have this pc but i have see that the battery can't be removed, i usually
past 5 to 6 hours per day in front of the laptop for work so i was
wondering how can i preserve my battery to damage what i want is actually
to plug the pc without charging the battery to prevent it to damage
If I am looking at the correct Asus Laptop then I would be careful that it
does not have a dedicated GPU for gaming. If you not into your games then
the spec does look good on paper. If you into your games I would choose one
with a dedicated GPU like the z500
My stepson using this all day for gaming. It replaced his desktop. He plays
COD, Guild Wars 2 AVP with no problems what so every. He has another 19"
screen plugged in as his main monitor and then uses the laptop screen as a
2nd screen.
I installed the Windows 8.1 update, and I was astonished to see that it
installed the Intel HD 4000 driver and tools, and now I have two display
adapters in the Device Manager. Could the laptop be having two display
cards?
Can you share your z500's temperature results. My z500 is running at 55-60
degre at desktop when I am playing crysis temperature is rissing about 86
degres is it normal ?
Hi, i trying to decide wich laptop should i buy, can you help me?? i have
to choose between the lenovo z500 or Asus VivoBook S400CA-CA181H.....what
do you suggest??
lol just realised you mentioned the benches at the end of the video! Ace.
cant wait to see them
Lenovo Ideapad Z500 hands on: 15 inch notebook with ultrabook profile
We're taking a quick look at the Lenovo IdeaPad Z500. One of the things that right now manufacturers are pushing are 15 inch ultrabooks. Most don't meet the ...
Thank you. Yes, I don't think it's replaceable. The reason I was asking is
because the Lenovo Y500's optical drive can be replaced with a DVD drive,
Blu-Ray drive, second graphics card or an additional fan. But on the Z500
it's just a fixed DVD drive. Yes, it's a shame that this is only 720p
whereas the Y500 is 1080p, but the reason I'm considering the Z500 is
because it has a touchscreen. Thanks again for the help.
No i did'nt answer his question. Why would anyone want to play PC games
with the option to take their games mobile with them. Absurd. What are
alienware thinking accommodating to that market!! So pointless. And why
would anyone want the option to play games on a low spec laptop, you just
don't do it because everyone that plays PC games plays on ultra. Derrrr.
I was wondering if you could help me, is the optical drive (the DVD drive)
removable like it is in the Y500? I want to know if it's possible to
replace the DVD drive with a second graphics card. Thanks! Sorry I don't
know anything about your problem
It will run but not at 1920x1080, I'd recommend the lenovo y500, it's a
little bit thicker and heavier but it is superiour for performance and you
have the option of SLI gt650m, the single 650m goes for about the same
amount as this one
there are 2 i5's and none have touchscreen(only i3 has it) i5 3210 has 2
graphics cards, intel hd4000 and nvidia gt645 and the laptop switches
between them when necessary, 6gb ram i5 3230 - only intel hd4000 and 4gb ram
Is almost the same design with asus s56cm. Yes you can play ultra settings
on battlefield 3 but do make sure not to play for so long because its a
ultrabook.
Thanks my friend. This is my lappy and i used this more anything and it
helps me great things. But 1 thing i noticed when i watch a 1080p film in
VLC and adjust the video to a more shaper detail(in the VLC player) which
is insanely cool as if im watching an original Blue Ray,it always lagged.
In this case, unchecking of sharp-box is necessary. My question is:
Retaining the sharp-box checked on the VLC is possible without lagging of
picture quality? Please advice. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.
Well, I for sure hated it from the start. After opening the case to replace
the 1gb wd disk with a 256 gb ssd (which is not for the weak hearted:
/watch?v=C86y21_j96c), I returned to windows 7. You probably should give up
thinking about features like the recoverybutton, but everything else seems
to work. Just make sure you copy the drivers map to a usb stick or so and
download te usb3 driver.
good to know that, but not sure if its coming only for the US or the Europe
too...I think the touch version isn`t necessary for this kind of laptop. I
haven`t spotted any flex. on the keyboard yet, only part which is not so
fixed is around the fan, there is some little flexibility. Anyway prices in
the US are much better and for 500bugs its gonna be a good deal.
I got this laptop gifted i didn't opened it. i need some advice PLEASE : i
have this laptop woth: i7 qm ram 4 500gb. I wan also play some good games
on it like bf3 etc etc. Should i return it? The ''giver'' said you can
change it if you want with all respect :) Should i get Hp dv6 7000?
you know, if you wanna play Crysis 3 on Ultra- you wont be able, it is not
such powerful as a desktop but its still great choice when you wanna sleek
and also powerful nb. The temperatures are absolutely fine! I have a
cooling pad but its not nessesary, no overheating when playing BF3 :)
No, you can`t lose your warranty. I have done exactly the same, im on w7
but there were some troubles with drivers because of very first model. I
have not tried to install both OS yet, but it should be ok. Anyway, if you
have some other questions write me a PM in Slovak language :D
How is the keyboard, does it flex when you press the keys or is it solid ?
I'm thinking about buying it but I've heard that there is some flex in the
keyboard when you press a button. If there is a flex, does it make
gaming/typing uncomfortable ?
Very nice, thanks for the outdated review. Mine has a i7 now and 8 gig ram.
Compared to my friend's Apple, it looks very similar, but with better
specs. Hopefully this one won't have to get aquainted with the concrete
wall, like my vaio :)
I would probably prefer i5 version, just because that feeling you have
strong gt645m inside and only i3 processor which could be limiting in
games. According to some opinions, i3 should be the same, only missing
TurboBoost feature...
it awesome i have the version with i7 quad core antiglare screen and
backlit keyboard, one thing i don't like is that the battery can't be
remove, i work on the pc for long times so i don't know if battery will
last for long time...
Does anyone know how difficult is to change Hard Disc or RAM in this model?
I am considering buying this notebook and I want to know whether is
posssibilty to clean it inside? Btw I should write this first, Very good
review ;D
here in germany the anti glare unit is now in stores. starts at 500 euro.
you cannot make any wrong for a price like this. yes there is some
flex.....but for 500 euro, its ok. its a budget laptop not a premium
zenbook :)
That`s a think i didn`t mentioned. In most laptops, all you have to do is
remove 1 or 2 screws, but in this case you have to open whole back cover,
no i haven`t tried it yet, cause I`m not sure of it`s warranty then.
Windows 8 is defenitly better for gaming, it's way better at preserving
memory and gpu capacity for games, if you don't like the metro UI you can
disable it with an app called "start is back"

My very first unboxing video- intro to the Lenovo z500 Touch laptop. Truly a sophisticated little entertainment machine from the IdeaPad PC line, perfect for all ...
It really depends on what you want to use it for. Both are powerful
machines. Definitely pay the extra to get the Nvidia graphics, not just the
Intel 4000 graphics. What kind of things do you want to do the most on it?
I love the z500, I do graphic art with no problem and play video games on
high settings. I think it could play it on ultra high, but I fear too much
heat generation,so if you must have ultra high graphic settings on games,
go with Y500/y510p. Also, y500 doesn't have touch screen.
For gaming, if you want hardcore Ultra High graphics, I'd recommend
stepping up to Lenovo's Y510p or something similar as they are bigger/allow
better venting (not to mention can be done SLI dual-gfx), that said, if
you're looking for a laptop capable of more versatile style, something that
has the form factor of a more professional or student look, paired with
touch screen, and the capabilities of running most games on High settings,
I love the z500 Touch (with Nvidia graphics, not intel) cont
I can't say that I've tried FarCry yet or the others you listed, but I'm
big into Lord of the Rings Online, and on high settings I can get between
80-130+ fps pretty consistently w good draw. Don't put it on high settings
without a good laptop cooler though, definitely needs that unless you want
to shorten the lifespan of the machine. If you want something less
clunky/more portable than a traditional gaming laptop but still capable of
handling games, I'd jump on the z500 tho. I'm loving it.
Thank you! I'm one of those rl gamer chics, pretty big geek but also
someone who lives a responsible adult life when I have to ;) I'm enjoying
taking care of my kiddo and lots of non-tech stuff, but also I'm definitely
not allergic to technology and hope to see more females enjoy it as well.
Thanks for the comment, and fwiw, I wore my socks for the video ;) haha!
Written review is on my blog (link is in the video description above since
YouTube won't allow me to post links in comments). A hands on video is in
the works, my apologies it's been a little too chaotic with school starting
to get that done recently. Will post it to my channel as soon as I finish
it!
Thanks Arunscript! I hope you found it helpful. I just finished my written
review of it and will be doing a follow up on video as well. You can check
out the review on my blog if you're interested (link will be added to video
description)!
Thanks! Am hoping tomorrow to do a quick video of the z500 in action.
Hopefully I'll get it posted in a few days. Feel free to chime in or ask
questions if you wish :)
FlutterBearMom, can you but this laptop in solid gaming category? Have you
tried to run BF3, FarCry3, DIRT3 on maxed out settings and see how the fps
goes? Thanks.

wow thanks for the fast reply. a few more questions. is the 1366 x 768
resolution good on the 15.6 screen? or should i go for a sony vaio fit 15
with 1920 x1080p. and i know this is subjective but do you think 2.2kg is
heavy or is it portable.
