I would like to win because I only have a laptop that doesn't play games at all and my Xbox is broken, I used to love playing games but it is broken and so is my gaming PC. It would be great to finally be able to fulfil my gaming needs and I would love to win. I am also going into comprehensive school so I have been under a lot of stress and this would help a ton, and finally - and most importantly... I need to do all of my school work on it so I would REALLY appreciate this. Thank you! :)

first of all thanks for your generosity! i'd like to win this laptop because my laptop cannot be used because it always overheats. when i turn it on, its fan starts to spin very fast and 5 mins later the heat is just unbearable then it dies. i have not used it for a year already. i just go to internet shops to use facebook twitter and youtube. hope i win and thanks again! :D

Dude, this is flipping sick! I'm currently posting this on my family's computer, an older one running on Windows XP. It's a bit hard to play games on it when everyone needs to do work ahaha. I'm a fellow gamer, like you, but the gamer part is a bit hard to fulfill at this point. Getting this would mean the world to me. Thanks and good luck to everyone that enters!

I'm using a outdated laptop, Never had a laptop in my life,my family cant afford new things. I've never had my own laptop and i like gaming and in the future would like to try and do commentating later in life for fun. Such as Minecraft,TF,TF2,Steam,Ect. :)

+checknforu1 It depends, if you want USB 3.0 then go for the T430, but if that's not a necessity then go for the T420 because they'll have similar performance and the T420's keyboard is better in my opinion.

+CuteBeare The standard 3 cell is about 2-3 hours, you can get a 6 cell or a 9 cell battery as well which gives you up to about 12 hours of battery use...I think Lenovo is the only company that offers a battery option like this. Many other manufacturers you are stuck with whatever battery they put in the machine, unless you purchase extra batteries. The only thing with the 6 and 9 cell batteries is they stick out under and behind the machine so you have to be careful not to accidentally hit the battery pack and damage the connectors and locking mechanism.

I have a thinkpad W530 for work and I just recently purchased a T420 for my personal use. It hasn't arrived yet. But I did this because: 1) It's an upgrade from my Dell Vostro 3500 - which has served me well for 5 years 2) It's compatible with the lenovo docking station that my work gave me for my W530 - this allows me to easily reconfigure my home office for remote login to work or personal use. 3) I like the ultrabay feature for a 2nd HDD that isn't available on my dell. I was able to extend the life of my Dell by replacing the hard drive with an SSD 2 years ago. How much more life do you think I could get out of the T420 if I replaced the disk with an SSD?

Hey, I'm a college student and I'm looking for a laptop that's not overpriced, but not cheap either, so that's what drew me to the HP dv6 series because they have a good price, for a very good functioning laptop and a nice style factor also, but I was wondering which laptop is better (I basically do all my note-taking and school functions through my computer) Should I get the HP dv6z or the HP dv6t? which one is better?

This laptop is awesome for its price especially when you get a huge coupon to reduce price at checkout. I got the i5-2430m +6770m +8gb of ram +750gb of memory all for $750 incl tax. Plays eve online and hon like a desktop and also deadspace and GRID. The only downside is the display driver that crashes a lot but that may only be relevant to my own pc.

@Mrawsomeman22 It can run most modern games at high since it has a great GPU. Only problem is with OpenGL applications (Professional editing programs and some indie games like Minecraft) where the dedicated GPU won't kick in so you will run it on integrated graphics. They aren't bad, but sucks since you rather use the 6770m.

The unit you're reviewing here, is NOT a DV6Tse, you dip$#!T. Also, you called the keyboard a Macbook pro "grab." Apple swiped this idea from Sony, actually. Lastly, you recommend skipping the touchscreen "for now"...this is absurd. Overall, this is a world-class unit.There is NOTHING like it on the market today.

Mine had a free upgrade to 8GB Ram, 750GB hard drive, I went with the 7200 RPM. Also upgraded from 2.4 to 2.5GhZ. I also upgraded to the 1GB Radeon HD 7270. For any casual gamers out there this works great, I only play wow but it can handle ultra at 35 FPS. Its a great machine ;)

this review is misleading on the features of the computer. the raised back is due to the oversized battery (which is optional) and the keyboard does not have the same layout as it does in the video. i even checked with the company on that. the review should have shown this.

What about the non-select edition (Just Dv6t) It has an i3, 4GB DDR3, and 500GB HDD, for under $600. I already have a beast quad core gaming machine, so would this be a good substitue for general use / sometimes more intensive applications while I'm on the go?

@alfa999er i7 quad with 8gb yes. if u want to upgrade ur graphics get the 2gb radeon though of course these will push the price tag just a bit over 1k. well worth it if u want the cool imagery

Don't get this. Go with a toshiba satellite p750 model. Backlit keyboard, Harmon/kardon speakers (better than beats). Less junkware. Fingerprint proof texture.
