Thanks for showing this to us. One thing, "Though it looks similar to a two-manual harpsichord or organ, the function is very different: a two keyboard harpsichord allows a variation in tone by playing on two different set of strings. A harpsichord coupler couples the same keys on both keyboards." The harpsichord can have a 2nd or 3rd set of strings that are one octave higher, so the when these are on, one can couple the manuals and get two strings at pitch and one an octave higher (4' pitch)

A wonderful recording and a nice compilation of images. However, it is Steinway & Sons that made the one piano (that is featured in the NYTimes video). Grotrian Steinweg is a different company and did not produce Moor pianos. Bechstein produced 12 short grands, 4 concert grands, and possibly one upright. The fourth pedal is only on the Steinway piano. The other makers used the three pedal lyre and converted the middle pedal into a coupler.

One of these instruments (a Bechstein) was offered on ebay a few years ago. Starting bid (or perhaps BuyItNow price was US $10,000. It was located in Moscow, however, and i was unclear how one could have had the instrument inspected before buying, or shipped to the US (because of restrictions on ivory importation, there would almost certainly have been additional problems).

Very interesting, but an instrument useful for only a certain spectrum of the repertory, unless more music is composed or arranged for it. I can only suppose the touch must be very like a tracker pipe organ: rather heavy when the keyboards are coupled. I'd suspect it's rather tricky to do subtle dynamic changes without a great deal of practice.

Hello if you watch the NYT video, Christopher Taylor explains that the upper keyboard is harder, but then he plays the Goldbergs quite facile. I would guess if you use the upper manual just to double organ points that's fine. Also, I would guess like any coupler, if it is disengaged, the lower keyboard works freely, Cheers,

@SFChristo Yes, you are right, but this piano has an octave transmission on one set of strings, meaning it hits the note and the octave below. Haven't seen that on a harpsi. Multiplexing organs can of course do that, and I once played a harmonium, where two of the registers were octave transmissions.

+bobbybuttmunch Sorry! So while filming I let others know I was putting a GoPro on a stick and in the sand were we will be. Same day someone asked why my camera was not in the sand? I told them I had it and it worked great. They saw another one? So next time down I seen it and grabbed it. After looking at footage of divers putting this on a tiger. It swam off away from them and fell off 10 min later. I found it 24 hrs later. There was a film company in the area the Captain said they should not be doing that and congrats you have a new GoPro!

I record the SCREEN (while playing) and my voice with aTube Catcher and the ingame sound with Mirillis Action. Yes, I use to software for it, it's the only solution I found.

I see your game is running perfectly on your cumputer and the question is that what operating system are u using cuz' i am using windows 7 x64 and my cursor is vibrating the colours are bad and sometime have little laggs :S My computer:Pentium Dual-Core E6500 2,93 GHz, 4GB Ram and Nvidia GT 220 (1gb dedicated memory). Esta bien que te interese todo esto, me parece perfecto que haya gente que le importe nuestros derechos y te super apoyo, pero yo no voy esos lugares para apoyar a nada ni a nadie simplemente fui ahí porque estaba marcado en el pack de viajes que hacia el crucero, que sinceramente fue una maravilla la próxima vez voy a ir al caribe hispano por supuesto me encantaría conocer todos esos lugares , este mundo esta lleno de lugares naturales hermosos (mas allá de toda la política de su mismo país )

En noviembre estuve por ahí! y en Ocho Rios, y en Bahamas... etc... pero yo iba por Costa. Es una pasada, espero que los disfrutes mucho! En Jamaica había una camiseta que estaba super bien, que decía: "que parte de no, no entiendes: no trencitas, no guía, no taxi" jaja.. es tal cual!. Y las cascadas de Ocho Ríos una pasada, cuando lo ví dije: eso yo no lo subo, y al final si! lo subí todo como una campeona!! Lo dicho, que lo pases ganial! Un beso!

jajajajajaja sos un capo Marce igual creo que hay QuickTime pro para ver videos .MOV en maquinas Windows que es el file que utiliza el ipod touch pero creo que se pueden ver en la windows pero he oído que tiene problemitas a la hora de editar con esos tipos de videos, me acuerdo porque cuando yo estaba en UruVlogs yo había creado esos intros y muchos tenían problemas con ese archivo, muchas gracias por comentar te quiero capoooo !!!

Si Joel es algo muy raro irse del calor extremo del Caribe a la nieve del norte de Canada sobretodo el primer dia que estuve me senti muy mariado y mi cuerpo tenia un poquito de fiebre, quizás mi organismo estaba muy confundido y no sabia que pasaba con clima jajajajajajaja muchas gracias por comentar y un abrazo fuerte!
