It depends on if you have a HDD or SSD, if it's a HDD and you want to
record at high FPS so that you can do a slow-mo and it not look funny later
than I'd suggest something that records in a compressed format like mp4 or
compressed avi, Fraps doesn't do this, playclaw does, I haven't used
QuickTime yet, but it probably records to mp4, but if you processor is
lacking power than get a SSD or a Raid0 HDD setup pure for recording.
You could be running out of hard drive space or you could just be using a
trial version (which only allows you to record 30 seconds of it). If you
use a torrent hoster like the pirate bay you should be able to get it for
free otherwise you have to now spend $40 dollars on a premium version of it.
i have a problam with fraps .. whenever i record long videos it takes alot
of space! like a 10 minutes videos is 7 GB .. it makes it hard to record
for along period of time before my computer runs out of space.. what
recorder doesnt take alot of space but still has a good quality?
Dude,I respect you doing this,But Quicktimeplayer SUCKS and the reason it
didnt record audio is because that arrow when you open it,Says audio when
you click on it,It will say built in mic,Or if you have a mic plugged in
then it will say the name of that mic.
Hippo, I have a Mac book air, I am playing Minecraft a lot on it and I want
to use something else besides QuickTime player. What do you think would be
the most easiest thing to use? I don't want to pay for anything.
you could just look up good webcam recorders because it would all come down
to how good the actual webcam is, and making sure you have the right
lighting etc. But I know you can record of movie maker and screenflow.
The one that would probably lag your computer the least would be
screenflow, because it doesn't take up much cpu, but if you have a decent
computer fraps should run without lag. And yes screenflow does cost money.
I am actually not too sure about that one, because i only ever use
screenflow and that costs money and sometimes quicktime player on mac. Your
best bet is to just search youtube for a free screen recorder for mac.
I have a question :/. When i use Fraps to record my game play, it stops
recording after a few seconds and i'm sure that i did not press the Hotkey
to stop the recording. Why is that? Please help D:.
if you want to know how pewdiepie does his vids he uses to different
applications on for his face and one for the game he uses them both at the
same time the edits them together.
OS X - Screen Recording - quicktime player (Record, pause, stop.)
Quicktime Screen Recording Test
MacBook Pro QuickTime Player Screen Capture Test
This is a simple test of the video quality achieved by QuickTime Player on my MacBook Pro. There is no audio. I am uploading this video from QuickTime Player ...
Hello, i have a question that i hope you can answer. I record minecraft and
have good enough FPS while recording. However, when i record in fullscreen,
and upload to youtube, there are bars on the top and bottom, and both
sides. Why, if i record fullscreen anyway does it not fit the whole screen?
I use iMovie to edit, but i dont think that matters.
I have the most powerful MacBook available on offer (Late 2012 model). I
did change a setting in Minecraft to increase frame rate. Also, for the
QuickTime Player settings, I set it to high quality. I have some
specifications on the computer at my channel.
I have a 3.0 GHz Processor and a solid state drive. This is vital for
writing high volumes very quickly. The QuickTime recording software is
actually extremely good at optimizing all that, so it shouldn't require so
much speed like it might on a PC.
How to: Quicktime X Screen Recording WITH Computer Audio
This tutorial shows you how to use Soundflower to add the ability of recording computer output audio along with your Quicktime Player screen recordings.
@bronsoncrabtree So I just upgraded, installed Soundflower (I did not have
it already installed before upgrading), and didn't seem to have any
problems with the installation. I also tested to make sure it records the
audio successfully. Not sure why yours isn't installing. Are you sure
you're looking for it in the right place? When you go to System
Preferences, click on "Sound," and then click on the "Output" button/tab to
view outputs. Soundflower should show a 2 ch. and 17ch. option there
Very Cool, Needed to install the 1.6.6b for my new iMac and then was asked
to reboot, I also needed to make changes to the sound inputs and outputs in
System Preferences and after that was golden... Thanks for this tip! I also
visited the company website as discovered a very cool company in the
process, cycling74 is very cool maybe I'll try the 30 day software trial to
see what its all about being an old fart musician..
@bronsoncrabtree That's expected. I briefly explain that in the video. That
gave me an idea, though. You could use Audio Hijack Pro to route your mic
input to the Soundflower 2ch, while also setting Soundflower 2ch as the
input for Quicktime Player while doing a screen record. Guess what, it
works. Not sure if that makes sense to you, but I may actually make a new
video at some point showing how to do that.
@bronsoncrabtree Keep in mind guys: System Requirements Soundflower 1.5.1
requires Mac OS 10.5. Soundflower 1.4.3 requires Mac OS 10.4. Soundflower
1.3.1 requires Mac OS 10.2.8 or later. Also, you may want to try using
Soundflowerbed. It's included in the installation, but there seems to be a
trick to using it. Search the Cycling '74 forums for "soundflowerbed."
@benthemiester Keep in mind that you have to select Soundflower as an
output in the System Preferences Sound preference pane, and then also
select it as an input in Quicktime Player before recording. This completes
the loop. Sorry for the late response.
This is awesome, only, is there any way to make it so I can hear the noise
through my speakers while i'm recording? It's would be strange to record a
skype conversation and not be able to hear the people I'm skypeing.
I tried this by recording a screen capture of a project in an audio program
called Studio One, but the audio still did not record, only the video. Ill
keep messing with it, maybe I missed something.
I tried this but when I went into system preferences the sound flower
didn't show up? I looked for it after I installed it and It says it wasn't
installed. I tried it again and it didn't work
@bronsoncrabtree It just so happens that I'm upgrading to Lion tonight. I
recorded this on Snow Leopard initially. I haven't tried it on Lion yet.
I'll give it a whirl and see what I find out.
I couldnt get the mic to work at the same time as the system audio so I
just gave up, if you do figure out how for free I will use it but if not I
can live without it
