help for nasal spray addiction or rebound congestion
There is help and I will explain how a plan was set up for me by a specialist. it worked and it wasn't hard. I would say good luck but if you do as advised it will ...
Hey Bill, I've been using an Oxymetazoline based 12 hour solution off and
on for 4-5 years. The longest I've been without using it was probably 6
months. But when allergy season strikes up again, I'm right back on it.
Went to the doc today and was put on steroids and antibiotics for a sinus
infection (which I never used to get) and was told I absolutely had to stop
with the sprays. But, because I also use a CPAP machine, having a stuffy
nose makes it difficult if not impossible to use which also disrupts my
sleep. The steroid pack I got today will last me a week and should allow me
to get a good jump start on getting off of the sprays. I bought some Simply
Saline nasal mist today to help. If this doesn't work, I'll be trying your
method for sure! Thanks for posting!
That saline mist only gummed things up in my nose for me....just listen to what I have to say in the video and do it just like it says...it will work and it is awesome when it does.....
Hey Bill, thank you for making this video. I have never been addicted to
afrin but I have heard of people becoming addicted. I am on day four of
using it every night and morning and tonight I decided to search for videos
to see if afrin addiction was even a real thing. I'm going to try to break
this habit before it starts. Thanks for the heads up.
Bill, Thanks for the post. I started trying the method you describe today.
I really, really hope it works. As you stated, this is a nasty "addiction"
to have.
Yeah I use afrin servere congestion I watched your video and it's working I
bought a new bottle used half filled it back up halfway and it's still
working right now it's just mostly water finally some relief my dad has
been on nose spray for 20 years and swears he can't stop but I'm going to
prove it to him thanks bill!
Thank you so much for the comfirmation that it does work. I just saw a
specialist a few days ago, he said im addicted also...He gave me the same
instructions and ive made my mix, but Ive been so skeptical. I will
definitely start today... what do I have to lose..
I had to always have a bottle in my pocket for years. Finally quit it by
using otrivin first then flonase AND then the next week only using otrivin
in the worst nostril, then tapering ove a couple of days. My nasal passages
are by no means perfect but ive been off otrivin for years now, just saline
irrigations now during cold season. Thanks for the video, I hope it helps
sufferers.
Bill, thank you so much for sharing! A few months ago I got a sinus
infection and got hooked on afrin and zicam nasal spray, same active
ingredient. I've used these products for years on and off and never had
any rebound congestion. Well this time was different. I am now a typical
nasal spray addict! I have a bottle in the kitchen cabinet, the bathroom,
one beside the bed, and of course one in my purse. It's terrible! I will be
heading to the drug store later to get some Flonase and I will be starting
this routine tomorrow morning! I can't wait to be off this crap! Thanks
again for sharing your experience with us :) ~Dani~
+David and Dani Edrich ....thanks for writing, i can feel your pain...if you have any questions just ask, i check this almost every day...it WILL work, and surprisingly, it is NOT hard...to this day when i look back it was nothing short of a miracle...
Thank you for the video! I have had at least 3 bottles in use for years.
The pump spray ones last me about 2-3 days, and I have failed at every
attempt to quit using Afrin! Quitting smoking was easier! I'm starting your
protocol today! I am so grateful for finding your video!
Nasal sprays are a nightmare! it's a true addiction! I know this because I
went through hell trying to stop using them and all of them are guilty
including Afrin. take my advice and don't ever be tempted to use them more
than a couple of days if not at all otherwise the rebound effect will make
your condition far worse and addicts you to using these drugs or even
permanently damage your sinuses
Im addicted to afrin. I cant breath without it. Has anyone have this
problem like me? and if you did, how did you get off this stupid ass shit.
Anyone who never used it, DONT. It works great but use it to long while
your sick and never agin will you ever be able to breath with out it. DONT
USE AFRIN!!!!!!!
Afrin gave me permanent turbinate hypertrophy and obstructive sleep apnea.
Not that the bottle actually lets you know that this stuff can break your
nose for life, but hey, the grubbers gotta get that cold hard $$$, and I
guess if they can cause lifelong suffering in the process, all the better.
HOLY CRAP! This commercial used to scare the shit out of me when I was a
kid! Thanks for helping me re-live those memories! Seeing it now I wonder
why I was so afraid of it...
I don't think I have ever used a better nasal spray in my life. I have had
the worst congestion imaginable, and afrin takes it away within 3 minutes.
This stuff is AMAZING!
WARNING: Never use this spray for more than 3 days. I repeat, never use
this spray for more than 3 days. It can do more harm than good to your
turbinates (sinus tissues).

If I knew what nasal sprays do I would have never used them... it's a very
addicttive drug and it should not be available over the counter .. and
perhaps banned completely. if you are on these drugs the thing to do is to
stop using them and if you find it too difficult I heard that you can spray
only one nostril until the other nostril recovers and then stop using the
spray. Also important to talk to your doctor and explain your condition to
him/her. good luck
Afrin addiction is horrible. It should not be sold OTC. And doctor's don't
take it serious or just tell you you "need to quit" like it's so easy. The
best way for me to get off is to take a bottle of saline, dump 1/2-1/3 out,
and fill the rest with afrin. You slowly add more saline, and less
afrin...basically a gradual wean.
over 15 years of using nose sprays. started with the Vick's inhaler the
graduated to Arin Now Afrin doesn't work I use Nu Way nasal spray . If use
any other brand i get infections . If i knew what i knew now I would have
just suffered through it .
you can use this for 3 days. . how many days do you have to wait before
using it again? my cold is lasting like a week and a halfffffffff im not
addicted.. haha!
