+Trevor Nicol Yes, I think when placing the extractor in you have to make sure that teeth are directly under the key cuts. It is very easy for the tool to turn 180 as you cannot see inside the lock properly. Glad you managed to get the key out in the end my friend.
Hi +waddac2 after a bit of fiddling about I managed to get key out. Still don't know exactly how I did it. I think I got the barb in along side rather than underneath the key. Thanks for tip on vaseline as I have one more broken key to remove.
Hi Trevor, I have used the key extractors a few times and not had any issues with them with hooking the key, now and again it can take longer to jiggle in and hook..... Bit like fishing really. Not sure if it may help but maybe try a bit of Vaseline to aid the extractor going in. Just a thought and worth a try as cannot harm.
Thanks for watching my friend. Yes the broken key extractors are a great piece of kit. You do get a key extractor hook in most pick sets but they are a waste of time, but these beauties are the best I have ever used.

Censoring how to snap a lock as if criminals use YouTube tutorials to
bypass locks :))
- pair of pliers side to side or up down
- if it's antisnap simply insert a key in or in the worst case force a
drywall screw inside and use a curved crowbar to pull everything out.
+Andrei Tudose I don't think it is to prevent actual criminals to enter your home. If they want to, they will do it anyways. It's more to prevent kids from getting bad ideas.

Hi Ian yes you will find that West Yorkshire police will reccommend the ABS
lock as it achieves Secure by demand status and currently is the only lock
with the highest Diamond security status. They basically say we recommend
that you choose a lock with the 3 star rating S.B.D and also the Diamond
Security rating. If you look on the ABS site : //www.abs-secure.co.uk/
you will see this clearly stated. Hope this helps regards Allan

Thanks Dolly. Our in house marketeer is not great with simple sums (or was
it me ?!! ) In fact here is what has happened. Some locks are measured from
the middle of the cam to end of the lock i.e. 40 to the middle, 45 the
other end (not a uniform lock BTW). However other lock manufacturers
measure their lock to the cam (the part that throws the bolt) and not the
center. The center cam being a standard 10mm wide. Therefore I believe my
colleague means he has included the cam. All the best
A nice clear video, but I am confused about the measurements of the
cylinder. It looks like you're measuring from one end, to the centre of the
screw hole (45mm) then from the other end to the centre of the screw hole
(40mm) so the total length should be 85mm. Or perhaps I'm mistaken about
where you're measuring to and from. Please clarify, I'm very inexperienced
at DIY.
my patio doors have a central pillar that seems to be fixed solidly to one
door and prevents me from accessing the machine screw to remove the
cylinder. I know this pillar is mechanically fixed to the door but there
are no fixings visible. Have you any idea how to remove it to access the
cylinder ?
thanks for that video. Much appreciated!!! You did make a little error on
the overall length of the cylinder as it should have been 85 not 95,
although this doesn't take away from the help that the video provides!
The same as Mothwillow. I have lost the key and the door is unlocked. I am
able to remove the machine screw but cant seem to get the euro lock out.
Any advice please. Thanks for the demonstration
Thanks so much, I can't believe how easy it is and I have been meaning to
change mine for 5 years! I hope you can order these throuh your website
because I'm going to look now...
