What is so man like about a truck that is known to break down? My Tacoma will only have to exceed it's towing capacity by several hundred pounds to tow the heaviest configured ram 1500. I bet you won't be saying girl truck when my Tacoma has to tow your truck home. Me and my heavy duty towing strap will be waiting.
Where the Ram Rebel got its name, and where the Toyota Tacoma got its simple bolt strategy.
The 2015 Ram Rebel is not the first Rebel. The 2015 Toyota Tacoma is not the first vehicle to use a simpler fastener philosophy.
Chapyhappy what in the world are you talking about. I'm assuming your going
by body style because F-150 were 1st made in 1975 and Ram was in 80's but
you then stated by your dates Dodge 94 Chevy 99 Ford 98 then that Chevy had
5 more years to make safer truck amd Ford had 4 years and that Dodge
Clearly won. By your math and years Dodge shouldve won since they were
building there Ram 5 years longer but if your watched same video I did the
Ram was lucky to come in 3rd. The Chevy door didn't come apart with space
large enough for drivers head to easily fit through that's just 1 place it
failed horribly. If anything like I stated earlier it was between the Chevy
& Toyota as to the winner. I will give the Dodge 3rd place but that about
it. The Ford should have been retired after seeing how poorly it failed at
this crash test. I wish you would clarify on your math numbers because they
seam like special education math.
dodge power wagon were made in the 40's
to that the tundra did best the doors front and back were able to be opend
and the frame did not fail or bend at the fire wall like the chevy -I got
the dodge dead in the garage and my tundra ouside with 200k mi same
everthing I use it everyday offroad in it dragstrip u name it tow too-cars
ect- I would buy 10 more if I could-I even hit the ass end of a chevy
braking his leaf spring and tail light area was gone needed a new tailgate
too- my tundra looked bad but it was fine the frame pushed his chevy as he
ran the red light at cops estament 60mph and everything from the radiator
back was fine- I replaced only the condenser and the dryer or accumulator
ac works great today - 20k since the accident I wouldn't put my son in any
of those trucks tundra has my winn
I will be the ignorant angry american, i will buy a ford trucks, just not
150's for "dey tuk er jebs" people, have you noticed that during the
japanese incident both powerstroke and duramax production dropped, very few
things are ever 100% american, since it would cost too much, if you want
all american pay the price, but deep down you know you'd choose the cheaper
choice. My ford is slow and burns oil, brakes are next to useless and the
4r100 2/4 clutch is on its way out, but its from 'merica
@KeskinTRS - These are all 90's to early 2000's designs and every one of
these trucks are at least 1 or even 2 generations out of date. The new
F.150's are one of the safest around, but then again that can be said for
ALL the newer designs. Don't know what the hell was with the F.150 from 97
to 03, but Ford screwed up bad on that one. That's why they really focused
on safety on the 2 newer generations. The Chevy Venture van, watch that
crash test, INSANE! That's why they don't have a van ;)
@swauss So have I, the Ford has been just as reliable as my Toyota
mechanically. But it's the little things that make the Ford the blatantly
superior truck. Like, no interior rattles, squeak free leaf springs, a rear
view mirror that doesn't break from a sneeze (same for cupholders), sun
visors that don't separate internally, the ability to tow a real load in
comfort, the fact that the V8 Ford gets 2 MPG better than the V6 Yota, etc.
Ford builds the superior truck, hands down.
First, I wouldn't call an Envoy a truck. Second, not sure where you live
that makes parts difficult to get but any work I have done on the platform
has been, almost without exception, stocking parts or within 72 hours. As
for the Ram, it's a diesel. Literally everything is outrageous on any
diesel no matter who makes it or what truck it is in. And a t100? I can't
come up with the appropriate level of contempt in my vocabulary. One of the
worst trucks ever made by anybody
@swauss My statement about "that year model of Tundra does not compare to
the RAM, F-150, and Silverado," is in reference to the FACT that that year
model of Tundra has lower HP, torque, towing capacity, and hauling capacity
than the others. Maybe the Tundra is the best at handling, driving,
longevity, etc., but that model of Tundra can't do the work of the others.
That isn't according to me, that is FACT. Research your facts before you
pick your arguements.
@Indogyearsimdead How much of the majority of the profits go Japan is a
really good question. However, looking at the 2005 American Toyota
financial reports, the profits made up 6.3% of production costs per truck.
The other 93.7% go to American manufacturers, marketers, repairmen, etc.
Needless to say, at most, 6.3% of the money goes to Japan. Imagine how much
money comes back to the United States from Mexican-built "domestic" trucks.
the thing here is, the toyota is a smaller truck with less weight pushing
against the chassis and cab when the truck hits the barrier. Less weight =
lower momentum = safter from 40 to dead stop. Now in a full sized pickup
(3/4 ton, 1 ton) the chassis is much stronger and bulkier than that of the
half ton's/ 1/4 tons. I would stand a much greater chance at living in my
05 Ram 3500 than any 1/2 ton, or 1/4 ton tacoma out there.
@swauss Do you not pay attention to what you are reading? I didn't say
anything about the new Tundras. I am talking about the old ones, the model
that is in this video. This model wasn't avaliable with the 5.7. I know
that the new Tundras can hang with the others, but this model cannot tow or
haul what the others can. That is a proven fact with "internet" research
and REAL world research. I don't care what you have owned.
those were 07, unfortunately, because of the vehicle's size marques often
don't try as hard because of the false perception of safety. a great
example of this is the crown victoria / grand marquis/ police interceptor
that was just stopped production, it had pretty terrible crash ratings but
most people assume its safe, just cause its large. truth be told, a volvo
s80 is probably worlds safer than any of these pickups.
Nice car test , but i would like to have a safe car. mmmm let me think like
someone using brains instead of his pride, do i want to be at home talking
to my wife and kids about the accident and say, lucky i've had a safe car?
or do i want to be in a freezer, waiting to be burried and let the family
think about what went wrong at the accident and let them tell" he was such
a pride American?" Ok give me the Toyota .
guy in chevy gets in a crash im a little banged up but im good the guy in
ford does the same thing he dies on impact guy in dodge does the same thing
survies barley the guy in toyota does the same thing he jumps out of the
truck and says honey i got you that car you always wanted gives her a ford
she dies the next day the people that live here now wants concrete removed
from the middle of the road
@Indogyearsimdead Well, at least honda and toyota are creating jobs for
americans, while chevy and dodge are outsourcing to Canada and Mexico. So a
portion of the profits ended up in the hands of U.S. workers. Unlike
homeboy with his new Challenger or Camaro which put money into the hands of
Mexicans and Canadians. At least the mustang is built in the usa, that's
the one I'd buy anyway.
@mik3mx09 the stroke is the only thing remotely similar just look at engine
pictures the stroke really mean nothing it just determines were your power
curve is yugo stroke and honda civic very similar stroke but nothing in
common i know some one will thing i am a retard but a nasa engineer could
not tell some people spout his job and they listen not a cevy enigine
nerrrrrr
@Mobbster05 yeah but this style of the tundra was not a full-size
competitor either. in 07 when they changed them, that's when toyota really
got into the competetive truck market by offering all of which you named.
401 ft lbs of torque from a 5.7l, for example. or the best in class braking
capabilities. not taking one side or another, im a jeep guy. but facts are
facts
@swauss Tacoma is a mini size truck during that time which only compare to
Ford Ranger, and it doesnt even have as much Hp as a Ford. 2004 f150 did
betterthan 2007 Toyota Tundra. If you saying American car suck then Toyota
and Honda suck. Toyota mostly being manufacture and engineer in america and
Honda most of it part is from Canada and America.
I'd rather get killed in my chevy than, even sit in a tundra, ... people
just need to except for fact, The GM trucks are hands down the best all
around ... they may not be the best at everything, but their the best at
most and second in the rest ... not to mention they don't have more body
roll than 300 lb bitch rolling down the stairs

+stedydoch9911 I personally wouldn't bother with any make truck that didn't have a solid front axle....my ol' long gone Ram 1500 had one...now I'm looking at six year old Fords, in F350, V10....still solid front end.
I feel like this test would have been more fair if all the trucks used the
same exact tires. That way you can really test how well the manufacturers
did.
+Andrew gibbs yeah those are mall crawlers lol there just for looks but we laugh at high trucks with skinny tires we have alot of sand here so that's about all we can do. we do have legal mountain trails but alot military folks with jeeps go there the locals prefer mud or sand
+Andrew gibbs no man a mall crawler is just high with wide wheels a nice paint job with alot of chrome underneath it's nothing bad look it up for yourself we have alot of those trucks here in fact I have one right now go on you're Google and search hawaii 4x4 then you'll see what I mean. mall crawlers is for just going cruising not offroading
thanks we build them loud tall and proudwhat do you mean by mall crawlers if you are talking about jeeps ill get mad againstock jeep wranglers have 30'' of water fording which is handy if ur in a floodsnorkels make it even better for sand and water
+Andrew gibbs yeah in fact we do have alot of jeeps in hawaii. alot of military folks have jeeps the locals here loves toyota as a matter of fact the mainland folks trip out how we modify the toyota's out here but you'll find mall crawlers all the way to mountain cruisers straight axle burfield machines pretty awesome. I like you're guys mud trucks.
toyotaz arnt that bad i just like ford and jeep acualy my friend has a toyota and he has it set up as a rock crawler in the main states mostly you see jeeps all around
