PUT THE POLICE BACK IN THEIR CORRECT PLACE. They are NOT our "life
supervisors", or "cruel slave masters"... THEY ARE OUR SERVANTS and they
have gotten out of hand. STOP THEM IN THEIR TRACKS ... left unchecked, this
situation is going the wrong way FAST. They have turned into the
"jack-booted thugs" that history has been filled with. Take away their
"Military" tools ... they have NO right to be using those tools against the
American Public. They are NOT going to be our BULLIES in the playground!
@ISamuelII How far? Pretty damn far, more often than not. And I wouldn't
call our system corrupt. It certainly has some corruption, and flaws
aplenty, but is actually just and responsive *by comparison* with almost
all other systems in human history. It only remains as good as it is
(however imperfect that might be) when the people hold its feet to the
fire. When incidents like this happen, action must be taken - not just for
the justice for the incident, but for the health of the whole system.
@borderraven Once again... you're citing a California Appellate Division
Case which would have NO impression on a Florida Trial Court. Is that the
best you can do? Unless you produce (which I can) a Fed. App. or U.S. Sup.
Ct. dec., then you still have no real precedent to use here. Keep
searching. BTW: You're looking for substantiation of the False Arrest &
Kidnapping. C.P.C. - 422.6 applies back to Sec.- 422.55 re: "Hate Crimes".
WTF are you talking about? You call that Legal Research? Geez'
@grizzzlyjoe, JASON O'GRADY et al., Petitioners, v. THE SUPERIOR COURT OF
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Respondent; APPLE COMPUTER, INC., Real Party in
Interest. H028579 Court of Appeal of California, Sixth District Filed May
26, 2006 We decline the implicit invitation to embroil ourselves in
questions of what constitutes "legitimate journalis[m]." The shield law is
... "We agree with these implied concessions, and with petitioners'
arguments, that petitioners are reporters, editors, or publishers ..."
Given the description of this video, the police involved willfully &
knowingly committed several crimes. If the local government won't police
its own police, then a state investigation is required. Id the state won't,
then perhaps there's some federal juristiction. This should be handled
criminally, but if the entire criminal justice system holds that police are
above the law, then a civil lawsuit is in order - as well as policitcal
activism to get the DA/sheriff/mayor/whoever replaced.
I'd recommend NOT thumbing this up or down, this is how activists and
freethinkers from the left, right or centre are checked out with the same
trends technology companies use for advertising. Share the word, it's
engineered chaos for a more criminal population (entertainment, drugs, sex
habits, religious extremism) and more authoritarian government (oligarchy,
corporate rule, endless laws, political quagmires, debts, ruthless armed
forces). No one wins but whoever planned it.
The camera is only a weapon if those being filmed are doing something
they'd rather not be caught doing. It seems impossible to establish that
police officers, as public servants, have a right to privacy. (For more
about the right to privacy of public officials, google "Anthony Weiner").
Of course, footage can be manipulated to present a false or exaggerated
case, leading to slander against the people involved. That's an interesting
question that does need to be resolved.
@borderraven Did you actually just cite a California TRIAL Court Case as a
controlling precedent in a Florida matter? And cite a California Statute,
as well. I guess you didn't go to Law School. Now research U.S. Appellate
Law, before you go off half-cocked. Please give me the FULL citation for :
O'Grady v. Superior Court of Santa Clarita County AND ... explain WHY
it's an action against the Superior Court and not the State of California.
Geez' louise ...
Everyone who has the time available to participate, should band together in
an organization who's sole purpose would be like the minutemen of
revolutionary days but not to fight enemy troops or threats... their
purpose would be to respond as quickly as possible to situations like this,
if one of their number was unjustly arrested and hassled, I'm sure 2,000
people showing up at the poliice station might change the officer's mind
about just who is in charge...
Cops lose evidence no matter how obvious it is that they really destroyed
it. Happens all the time, whenever they feel like it. Judges know it, DAs
know it; but they let it go on because the cops are bringing in customers
to the for-profit, incorporated courts. Use a cell phone and upload the
video in real time. Also, study how to powerfully defend against
prosecutions with no corpus dilicti or victim. 1215 dot org 1215 dot org
@ISamuelII Wake up to what? That human socieites, including the United
States, aren't perfect? That's a given, not a surprise. It's precisely
because they aren't imperfect (always has been, always will be) that it's
important to *work* to correct the problems found - and critical that
whatever social/government structures you have have the ability to change
when the people find injustices within it.
@VeryEvilPettingZoo I had a judge once tell me in a court, "we are not here
to discuss the constitution. That has nothjing to do with this case". And I
presume they all take an oath to uphold what he didn'tt want to even think
about. I suggest you look up a Richard Fine from Los Angeles to see how
fine a system we really have. It is never too late to wake up.
Both parties are wrong really, there are many trigger happy/ violent
police officers who abuse their status. On the other hand though, people
should just abide and respect the police. I'd get annoyed too if some
asshole was following and videotaping me all day, even though its legal.
Don't be a dick.
wow fuck the police i jhate damn pigs they think they put there lives on
the line when in reality they jus sit on there ass eat donuts and arrest
people for being drunk or possession of a harmless plant .. jus cuz they
got a badge doesnt mean shitif we all did something they cant stop us
i would resist arrest if i was filming, cops are becoming more corrupt,
theres no need for violence and the cops shouldn't have legal authority to
exercise violent arrest unless their lives or public safety is at danger.
the whole system is becoming corrupt, its disgusting
Someday when all hell breaks out on the streets all these cops are going to
be sorry they didnt uphold there oath. Alot of them will pay big time so I
advise for all you law enforcment out there you better think twice and take
your oath seirousely.
Seem like this people don't give a fuck about anything but thier willfully
content for our constitution and our rights. They will learn what king of
england learn in july 4, 1776. You want to play lets play.
