The torque wrench is your friend.....especially on these modern cars. Modern cars are made to be lite-weight....so you don't want to over-torque something....or under-torque it. I've seen brake calipers come loose from improper torqueing. Also seen warped brake rotors from over-torqueing or uneven torqueing.

+JetMechMA Very True. I wish I had mentioned to torque all those bolt to spec. And wish I had the spec. I plan on doing back brakes before winter so the next video I will be sure to mention that.

+JetMechMA I always try to buy Made in USA. And it gets hard with cars finding some parts. I mean you can buy from say a Chrysler dealer and have the part made off shore

Thanks, man! I am thinking of doing my brakes for the first time myself and I have a 2012 200s so this video was really helpful. Quick question though, sorry if its an obvious one, but how come you can't touch the rotors?
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-cci1XPbDQ_E/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABE/y-W8dE-ZcK0/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Anon I thought I had mentioned that.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Bearded Grease Monkey I'd like to add that it doesn't hurt to spray down ALL rotor surfaces with brake cleaner prior to installing. A $5 can of cleaner is a great low-cost investment that'll help ensure the job is done even better. Good video!
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-cci1XPbDQ_E/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABE/y-W8dE-ZcK0/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Mike Pearson Grease from your fingers, whether is it just natural body oil, or grease from doing the job, it isnt good to have that on the surface of the rotors when you first break in your pads. Good question BTW, and sorry for the delayed response.

Not to pro on this one mate, did not grease the sliding shelf so they wear even, and if those are anti lock break system, you always need to open the bleeder valve, or can damage the system causing back pressure.

I notice the dust shield isn't listed on the website for sale or am I missing it?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Steven Teague the first batch is in production. We'll probably include the caliper adapter bolts with them, since they should be changed when the rotor is changed (and you have to pull the rotor to change the dust shield). Look for them around mid-October.

+88BmyVegas Automotive glad this video was out there. We had a hard time with the one rotor. The crank or rotor wheel inside the rotor wasnt on and we had to bust the rotor to get it off. Then replace all the parts inside due to the fact that it wouldn't come off . The other side was easy
