Canadian Food to eat in Montreal including Poutine, Smoked Meat and Bagels
When visiting Montreal some classic French Canadian food worth sampling includes poutine, Schwartz's smoked meat sandwiches and St-Viateur Montreal ...
OMG the meat looks so good, and do the bagels! I went to U NB in 1989-1983
I lived off campus but ate lunches on campus, every day they served poutine
in the cafeteria. No special toppings. This was before it was a world wide
craze. I live in Sussex, known as the dairy centre of the Maritimes, we can
get cheese curds, and have had bagels here for a long time. Tim Hortons are
pretty good, but these ones look so much better. I am drooling! I wonder if
that meat can be imported to New Brunswick? We get Montreal style smoked
meat but it does not look as juicy or tender as that.
No, Montreal has so much more persons than all of New Brunswick I imagine, plus, I think topping a poutine with everything but the kitchen sink is a fairly new trend. We do have a 50s style diner here in town that has served "Fonzie Fries" for a number of years, just a poutine topped with onion, peppers, mushrooms, and ground beef. I found it overly salty though. I was in Montreal and Quebec City in the summer f '93, Quebec City is beautiful and the feu d'artifice were spectacular. And, now I am craving that meat all over again....
It's too bad that you only mention 3 kind of foods for Montréal. I know,
for students, tourists with a low budget under 10$ for a meal is ok. But so
many more renowned restaurants that you can experience in Mtl. "Au Pied de
Cochon", "La Fonderie", "L'Académie", even there "Joe Beef" and many more.
But I guess that must be overlooked in an other field of menus and prices.
Keep the good job ! Bienvenue !
+herve30able1 Thank you! I agree with you. We were mostly limited by time and not so much by money. If we come back again we'll make a better attempt to show that side of the restaurant scene as well.
You guys video really made me look for some restaurants that have Poutine
in Melbourne! Looks so Fabulous XD. Can't wait to try it here and film it
although It'd be a bit less authentic I assume...
I miss Montreal so much! I am from the US but I was fortunate enough to
study abroad here. The food is *AMAZING*. My favorite at the Banquise is
Poutine T-Rex!! It is loaded with lots of awesome meats :) :) :)
+NomadicSamuel I live in the rural, Shenandoah Valley of Virginia near a city called Harrisonburg! I am about two hours away from Washington, DC. Where in Canada are you all from??
+Scott Miller Oh, that's cool to hear! We never tried that one specifically. I definitely will the next time we're visiting. Where are you from in the US?

+Michael Lanfield Raw Vegan Fruitarian Actually here in New Zealand, the law has changed and it is indeed what you said. view nonhuman animals as sentient beings. We must stop viewing them as property. but yet we still eat them.
+Michael Lanfield Raw Vegan Fruitarian its not sentient its a dumb domesticated animal..... it could have been done with a sharper knife and done more quickly these guys are amatures but all in all it was done humanely
+FATIMAH1313 We must stop the killing and view nonhuman animals as sentient beings. We must stop viewing them as property. //thevegansandwich.com/why-vegan
muslims do slice the nick and this is better than electric shocks and the
other stuff usually use, but in the video this isn't the right way to do
it! the knife must be sharp and cut the vein immediately without suffering.
if they did that the sheep will die immediately without pain and the bad
blood will get out
NO SUCH THING AS SLICING A THROAT WITHOUT PAIN,,,YOU JUST LIKE TO TELL YOURSELF THAT TO SOOTH YOUR OWN CONSCIENCE...LOL
