This is soo unfair. (Different episode) 1 person brung a bottle of steroids
across the border and got fined 1000 dollars while a women brought 1000
steroid bottles and got fined 100 00 dollars!!!!
+saran komah You park your car in a no parking zone & you get caught & fined. You fill in a card with a question: are you carrying any food (which you are) & answer no, your caught & fined. You are warned that you will be fined if you give the wrong information to customs, so its not unfair.
Australia is an island continent. They have to have zero tolerance for any
foods and plant life that damage their echo system. Too bad we don't have
the same tolerance level here in the US.
+adcolt54 Ain't that the truth. Now the Republicans are trying to gut the Endangered Species Act, the EPA, the Clean Air Act, the National Parks, and every other environmental protection legislation they can. Bastards.
Meat can be very dangerous - look what foot and mouth disease did in England years ago. Just fill out the form honestly, take it seriously, and you will have nothing to worry about.
The reason why the agents and the laws are tight on fruits, nuts, seeds,
and food coming in and out is because of it can cause damage to local
wildlife and fauna as invasive species.
+John BrittasThat's quite funny, really, considering Australia consists nearly entirely of immigrants... but of course they're racist. Did your little outburst make you feel better? For the record, I'm a German electrical engineer working in Australia for ConocoPhillips. I've worked all over Europe too, as well as a few months in California. I'm glad you think Australia is racist and you'll never come here, the place is too nice for trailer delinquents like yourself.Stay angry, it makes me smile :)
And just for the record, I travel light, never carry food and never lie to any officers anywhere. Never been hassled by any officers in all the countries I have visited. Don't plan to get hassled either. But really, you have to declare duty free chocolates and wine? I wish you Aussie racists get harassed for that next time you visit the US...
+John Brittas Original settlers: 1788... catch up with the times old fella. They're protecting the crops and live stock NOW which provide Australia a good portion of its income. This is youtube, if you want the answers why, try google instead. I'm not hear to hold your hand or dry your tears.Still, could be worse, could be invaded by morons like you and your family.
