How To Deal With Hot Food Cravings On A Raw Food Diet
//www.fruityronster.com Do you want hot food on a raw food diet? Here's a secret: Raw food isn't cold food. And funnily enough, not all cooked food is hot ...
If my friends were too stupid to understand that you get more nutrients
from cooked food then I probably wouldn't waste my time on them.
Not saying that you can't enjoy raw all you want, but in my world where
energy is king you have to eat cooked as well as raw. Otherwise I spend my
time like apes and monkeys having to eat all day just to get enough
calories to survive. We have been eating cooked foods for millions of years
and this is why our brain was able to expand.
The science is out there. nutritionfacts.org is a great place to start.
After that check out Richard Wrangham .
+Fruity Ronster Yeah right because as we all know health has nothing to do with energy. Ignoring or denying the science doesn't make a position right. The only reason you can enjoy a fully raw diet is because of the modern convenience of super markets. Take those away and you are just another starving human looking for starches.
+Mike Staal the science confirms cooked food is damaged food, damage to the nutrients that are the reason we are eating them. If energy is king then why eat cooked food that requires more energy to digest than raw food? our correct diet of raw fruits and vegetables digests most easily and with the least drain on our reserves. I read some of Richard Wrong-ham's book...he says we can't live on nuts and vegetables....he's maybe right, though he doesn't even consider that we can get enough calories on fruit and fruit is filled with the fuel that our brain runs on - glucose. As for humans living on cooked food for millions of years....that's a nice thought, but please consider what you mean by cooked food. Generally what you are doing is boiling water in a metal pan and droppping food into that. Please research how long we have had the ability to control heat to that degree, consistently for a long term period...and how long we had the utensils to do that. How long have we had that kind of control of metal? Fire? etc etc Or perhaps we just threw potatoes onto a fire and picked them out with our hands?Cooked food has advantages. If you have an army of thousands of men, then having stores or grain that transport without the need for refridgeration will help in the logistical nightmare of trying to feed a large army of moving killers. Let's not pretend cooked food is anything to do with health. We are still supreme frugivores and everything in our nature points towards that.
In Canada on a cold day when I feel chilled, there is nothing better than a
hot bowl of soup, way better than fruit when it's cold. I think if you
were to take a poll most people would agree.
Choosing to prepare your videos in the peace of nature is really lovely.
Also my great grandfather was from Scotland and I can see where my
brother's beards come from. Lol
In my case, the cravings come only during winter, because of little variety
and high prices. I don't crave hot/warm food during winter, having a raw
vegan diet doesn't make me want to eat warm foods, I'm perfectly fine with
food at room temperature. I'm not craving traditionally cooked vegan food,
but only frozen veggies (which I used to eat during my transition, straight
from the bag), but they are kind of cooked, as they are blanched prior to
freezing. I learned to ignore these cravings though, and focus on seasonal
winter fruits (oranges, apples) and, of course, bananas (which are imported
here in every season).
No. Even if we have imported ones, I don't like persimmons. I tried Hachiya, but I never liked them. I haven't tried Fuyu though, I didn't see them here where I live.
I don't mind long videos. :)
Question! Why would you trust Denise Minger and her Food Pyramid book?
She's just a blogger, not a researcher or scientist or doctor or
anything... she's just selling a book following the Paleo fad!
+HomeMade Muscles Yeah I completely agree. Lol, sorry I don't have much else to say :)I just do what feels good to me and follows common sense, I think it's working. I use my progress in exercising and general health as my compass for knowing the right way for me to live.
+Keto Calisthenics haha, ok I sort of get your points but still.. trying to make money out of something isn't bad if you're adding value and not scaming people in some way. For example, i've been trying to make this project my source of income. I use it to find people interested in personal training with my and selling a book at the moment. Not because I have some secret plan of manipulating or using my followers. I do it because this way I can focus as much as possible on the project, have time to constantly educate myself and provide everyone with as much quality information as possible. I wouldn't be able to do this if I continued to have an office/soul-sucking job that I hated. This way I can do what I love, be good at it, share as much free information as possible for hundreds of people to benefit and at the same time put food on my table by a few people out there looking to invest a bit money for some extra value in return.I agree that you have to be aware of what people are selling, you're right, but that shouldnt be a reason to narrow things down so much. There are proffetionals that are great at what they do and charge a lot of money for their services. It's their right for all the effort and sweat they've put into mastering their craft. On the other hand you have people like doctors and all kinds of other profffetionals who have degreess etc and use their status to scam and manipulate people or simply not caring and being very bad at their proffession
+HomeMade Muscles Ah I judged her based on her YouTube content, she's always talking at primal meetups etc, so I assumed her nutrition advice would follow suit. Sorry for that. I am fairly well aware of all her work though.I do enjoy her blogs and talks, they are always open minded and informative (especially the low fat one recently). My main concern is that she is a young, good looking girl on the internet trying to make money by donations and sales... I know that's fairly cynical of me , but there you have it :) I find it hard to trust anyone who is trying to sell me anything, especially young good looking ones who haven't even a related qualification....
+Keto Calisthenics Hi there, why would you say that the book is about Paleo? Have you read it? The book is one of the best books on nutrition out there explaining all the biases and fads out there - including paleo. Denise has also written one of the best scientific articles out there debunking the China study (//rawfoodsos.com/2010/07/07/the-china-study-fact-or-fallac/) and she did that despite being a vegetarian a while before. The fact that she doesn't have any official studies doesn't mean she can't be good at interpreting scientific data and disseminating science (probably one of the most important things a scientist should be good at). A lot of successful people didn't even go to college and became amazing scientists (among other stuff) . Take Michael Faraday for example ;)
love your channel bro. I like longer videos when the content is good, and
this one was very good. "Managing Oneself" by Peter F. Drucker is one of my
favorite books, especially if you want to determine how you best learn and
function. I highly recommend it.
I began doing calisthenics after a bad accident, too. I wasn't hurt, but
many young people lost their lives in a bus crash at my school. Seeing the
value of life can be such a huge motivation.
Dude, it's cool to here you've filled so many slots, so quickly. :)
We'll have a week - month old baby as you are busy with the event. We both
wish you all the luck and fun with it, possible.
