I have a gtx 970 and an i5 4460 ...i know the proc isn't amazing...and it's incredible how the fps just goes to shit when you play something like eotm... i still think this isn't a universal thing, but more of a shitty optimization of the game by the devs :/

+Domen Jordan Ah it's all in the object count. How many objects are rendered on screen. Although I don't know how optimized their custom graphics engine is, having a bunch of individual objects (with objects attached to them - that's the gear!) playing their own animations is really taxing. But yea, I figure it could be better optimized.Thanks for the comment!

Post Processing is very subjective, I personally find it makes the game look worse, and prefer to play with it off. great video though!

+LuminatX Yea! In fact, many could argue that Shaders to max make characters look too glossy as well.Naturally, when artists design the ambiance, they do it with these settings activated in mind, so their vision is lost on the process. Although on Heart of the Mists, Post Processing on max makes me drowsy. Too misty >.<Thanks for the comment!

Awesome. Now plz do one for AMD. I'm running an R9 380 and a FX9370 with 24GB RAM and I can barely get 30 fps when there's more than 20 people on screen. I've heard Gw2 is running on ancient code and is terribly optimized for AMD, but there is still no excuse for this kind of performance.

I don't have AMD, so I wouldn't be able to talk from experience.R9 380 seems to be comparable with nVidia GTX 980, which is one model above mine (GTX 970).I suggest you limit the amount of models, at the bottom of the Graphics panel. My computer FPS will also tank with many users on screen, like say in the Heart of the Mists or a WvW zerg.Hope that helps!

Have you been to Dry Top and/or Silverwastes? For whatever reason on my current rather bad PC I get significantly less FPS in them two zones compared to the rest of the game. Curious if the Alpha holds up well in them areas.

How's the performance aside from world bosses? Like in LA for example. I'm using FX 8150 and only got like 25-40 in main cities.

+Yusoff M Again a problem with FX series processors. This game is CPU intensive and your CPU has a weak single core performance resulting in your frame rates. I suggest upgrading if you really want smooth FPS as seen on this video.

+Crystalline This video shows just that. If you look on the top left of the screen the fps overlay is there. This is a decently full map and those are the raw fps during teq. The settings and specs are all in the description. Enjoy! :)

+Gedrif You would have a decent 60+ FPS depending on player population. The game should run fine on that set up.

Well your computer must have problems somewhere I had no lag last time I played it. I just built a new computer for guild wars 2, 3 days ago. ATI radeon HD 7770 double diamond edition overclocked. 8gigs , etc. I ran it all maxed out last stress test and it's a beautiful game all I can say. Cost me under 400$ to built a pc running better then a 2000$ pc at future shop.

I still think this game has a long ways to go as far as optimization (and/or Nvidia does). I get around 50-60 FPS on an i5 quad core at 3.6 ghz, 8 gb, GTX 570, and in WvW it drops to about 15 FPS. I actually have to turn off/down several options to achieve that. Of course this is with every sever full and about 50-100 people running around everywhere.

GW2 has optimization issues. Official Beta forum says they are working on it. Some people with [email protected] and gtx680 can't hit 30fps while people with lower end machines hit 60fps. There are a few bugs to be worked out that not everyone is experiencing.

Wow hmm. I remember the devs talking about that any pc could run this (scaling well) since they have many younger players with lower end pc's plus that they want as many as possible to play of course. Hope that gets fixed.

Nice, I just built one 3 days ago, 2.2GHZ triple core, 8800GT graphics card, 6gigs of ram. Running it maxed out no problem at all. Strange that this system is running it like that. Something must be fried.

I play this game on everything low as possible (including resolution), I can hardly see the outlines of stuff and I get 22 FPS at best! and that's if I'm staring a wall with nobody else around me.

Drivers up to date and hardware fine. Game was poorly optimised; it's performing much better this beta (i think). Eitherway, just bought a brand new PC I'll be building in the next few days =]

Very strange as that sounds a lot lower spec than my PC currently; I upgraded my GFX card FROM an 8800GT. New PC is a i5 3570k 3.4gHz quad-core, HD7870 gfx card, 8gb ddr3 1600mhz RAM.

I played this game on low and I still really enjoyed it. Now I'll upgrade to a laptop and play it on medium and after I will but a AIO and I will be able to play it on high

Update your drivers, other then that something is fried in your pc if your lagging with these specs.
