My mom is going to show you how to make gejang. There's two different types. The other one is marinated in soy sauce, but I think that this one is much tastier.

Crabs (Chilaw) Crabs in Spaghetti Sauce
Join me and my Mom (Margaret) as we spend the day recreating my grandmother's specialty and our favorite meal she use to make....Crabs Chilaw otherwise ...
I do not use any water into my Sauce. Instead I put in about 3-4 Bottles of
Clam Broth And a 1/2 cup of some good Dry White Wine.? It gives the Sauce a
better fish taste also.? Try it next time & you will see the difference in
your Crab Sauce.?
+A REDTAIL Sounds delicious will have to give it a try. This is a recipe that has been handed down from generations. So we do just like the recipe calls for because that's the way my grandmother made it. But something can always be improved upon.....thanks...:-)
It's great to see you to this way! Precious Moments for sure! Wish my mom
and I could be like this, but she's too feisty for me , lol. At least I
have the comfort of making precious memories with my kids! hahaahaha "the
holy trinity" hahahaha, soo funny, I've never heard it that way! I'm so
enjoying this video! TFS my friend! Blessings & Best regards!
+How to organizelifetv withLadiePhoenix Ladie Phoenix, it was fun and brought us both a lot of memories from my grandmother who use to make this dish all the time.....we miss her and her cooking.....xoxo....Debbie
Hello my friend! OMG your mom and you look so much alike, loving it! I
loved your recipe! Wow I loved your ninja! I actually have a ninja blender
which I think you may have seen on my vids, or maybe I haven't uploaded yet
lol. Anyhow, it's great to see your mom and you interacting together it's
awesome!!
+How to organizelifetv withLadiePhoenix Ladie PHoenix, we absolutely love the Ninja it makes wonderful smoothies we are trying to get healthy too it is hard but we keep trying.....hope your having a wonderful weekend.....xoxo....Debbie
How lovely, and lucky! to be cooking a special family recipe with your mom!!
TFS, I'm sure my hubby would love this!! Unfortunately for him, this recipe
is a little over my head, I'm a simple chef :-)
I'll have to send him your way!!
Nice being able to use produce from your own garden!!
Have a wonderful week!! Hugs, April XOXO
+april casey Thanks April, it looks way harder than it is. But its one of those recipes you only make every now and then and it does take a few hours but then you have it and can freeze it. I'll make a big pot of something that might take a bit and then I separate it into smaller portions like soup or chili and have it for a few times. Hope your enjoying the summer on the beautiful lake in your beautiful home......xoxo.....Debbie
Oh Debbie...I can almost smell it and taste it, too. I know this would
have to be awesome...with all the love that you and your Mom put into the
preparation of this dish....I know it will be so special sitting down at
the table with your family to eat it...!!! You definitely need to pass
this down to your daughters....and to your son....!!! This is what life is
all about...!!!!! I am so happy that you got a Ninja...what you got is
probably all I really needed...but I we got a really great deal on the
system that we got, too....and my food processor is about 20 years
old...just like my blender was....and it has been used so much...my blender
actually disintegrated...but it had been used much more than the food
processor. I really wanted the Ninja system to have as a back up to my old
food processor...I think we paid about $169.99 for it...and that was not
too bad considering the Vitamix system very much like it was almost
$800....and there was NO WAY we were going to pay that much...so we are
happy. Ours system came with two person-size smoothie containers that
attached directly to the blades...and sometimes I make the smoothie in the
big blender....I have not been on a smoothie kick lately...but I need to
get on one...that is when I was really loosing weight and being good....I
have been eating way too much bread and potatoes...my two weaknesses....so
hopefully between now that the time we go to the beach I can concentrate on
smoothies and LOW carb dinners. Tonight we had roasted chicken and steamed
broccoli and a nice salad...the same thing we will have tomorrow night
minus the broccoli. Kroger has chicken breasts -- boneless/skinless -- on
sale and I bought a family size tray...I browned them good in my electric
skillet -- it is huge...and seasoned them with Tastefully Simple Garlic
Garlic (I think that is what it is alled) and also the Tastefully Simple
Steak Seasoning...then piled two cut up onions, a head of broccoli, a red,
yellow and orange pepper on top...added more of the two seasonings and some
sea salt and put the top on and cooked it about 20 minutes..then opened it
up and added a cup of white wine..covered it back up and cooked it about 20
more minutes...it was SO GOOD...even better tonight...we had it Monday
night...and again tonight as a leftover...have enough for tomorrow night,
too...!!! I cannot tell you how good it was...it was even better tonight
after soaking in that juice for over 24 hours. It would really REALLY have
been good with some steamed rice or egg noodles or pasta....may have to
break down and have some pasta tomorrow night...!!! LOL...!!!! Debbie, I
love you...so much...thanks so much for sharing your family recipe...I have
never really had anything crab, except crab claws and crab cakes...not sure
you can even get blue crabs anywhere around here...!!! But, I'll bet this
sauce would be good with crab claws, shrimp or lobster, too.....yum
YUM...!!! Take care..hope you have a blast at the beach...I know you
will...I will be thinking of you...xoxo Wanda :D
Hey girl...glad y'all got back safe and sound. I know how tired your are...I am always tired and sad which is not a good combination. I will be so happy when the day comes that we can stay at the beach for a whole month if we want to. I try not to wish my life away...because the days are passing faster and faster. Next week is a short work week...and we are really looking forward to a long weekend...extra long because if all goes as planned my husband will take Thursday and Friday off...he needs a little break...!! I know you will sleep extra restfully in your own bed tonight...as good as vacations are...it is really nice to get back to your own bed. Our RV bed actually sleeps better than our bed in the house, but the close quarters just get to m after a while...another reason we want to trade up to a larger motor home...it is really our dream...and I believe it will come true...after all...if you don't believe...why should it come true? Love you girl....take care and have a wonderful Sunday...xoxo Wanda :D
+Lady W Wanda, just saw this my friend. The blue crabs did turn out good.....I got some video of it just have to get it together. We got back and I doing laundry and cleaning up. Oh, we got the car back yeah!!!!! I am so happy I was lost without it depending on Bart to take me around and he is busy at home you know how it is. I did have a good time cooking this with my Mom it brought back a lot of good memories for us of my grandmother.....we definitely miss her and her cooking. All my kids can cook but the one that does the most would be Audrey the oldest and she doesn't do spicy, but she did ask me to preserve my recipes for her and I plan to start that this summer.....one day if they want they will have it and can look at the video as well. Thats is one of the things I love about making these videos.....one day they will want to look at them. Hope your weekend is going well my friend I will be texting you......xoxo....Debbie
That looks great! I've never seen those blue crabs for sale around here,
but if I ever see them I'll know what to do with them now - lol! Love that
you and your mom could work so well together in the kitchen too :). xoxo
+ChiaChatterVlog Thanks Sherry, you can even do it with crab meat from a can it would be a little different but still give you the same flavor. Crabs and crab meat out of can is expensive though that is why this was such a treat for us. It was fun doing this as it is the first time I have every made the recipe only the third time my Mom had. It was my grandmother's specialty and we miss her.......love you.....xoxo.....Debbie
Hi Debbie! I've never had crab, but my husband loves it. Will have to
de-spice a bit for him, but looks like something that he would enjoy a lot.
You're so lucky to still have your mom. I miss mine everyday. TFS, Love,
Janet
+skierty2Most welcome and doing fine thanks. Hope you're doing well also dear. Yes, I know he would like it and probably my eldest son also. Oh, I know that you're happy to have them around and what a blessing. So many times; even after all of these years, I still pick up the phone to try to call my parents. God Bless you also dear.
+DiaryofaBrainTumorSurvivor Thanks Janet, definitely if you every get your hands on some crabs whatever kind I know your husband will love it.....you can even do it with just crab meat from a can. Yes, thank God I still have both parents I try and not take that for granted. Hope your doing well.....God Bless you and your husband.....xoxo.....Debbie

No, there are many varieties of palm. The ones they get oil from, are grown
specifically for the oil. P.S. Wild animals are displaced with every type
of agriculture, not just Palm Oil. You simply relate more to the plight of
the Orangutan, than you do for the field mouse, or snake... Don't like that
situation? Grow your own food at home; as much as you can...
I love your videos and your energy but I think sometimes your comments seem
a little rude. I would rather get no answer than a straight no like that. I
am just saying that when you write people don't see your face.so it's hard
to tell if you mean good or not. Thank you for all the effort you put in
your videos it is really appreciated :)
lol well, I bet they'd taste good in this tho! As for the taste, maybe some
dulse or kelp? or a hint of tomato paste? Anyway, I used to love hearts of
palm but stopped eating it for some reason I've now forgotten. I'll have to
reresearch. Love your vids as I always learn something and often get a lol
moment! TY sweetest :)
Hey I have a REALLY big request, can u do a vlog Chanel, I know u made
mention that its not that easy as it seem, but when u have the time I would
love to see you vlog buster,ur family, maybe going to get ingredients from
the store and visit some vegan bakeries and restaurants. Just think about
it. :)
This looks interesting. Do you think you could use water chestnuts instead
of hearts of palm? They look and probably taste very similar...Thank you
for making these videos for healthy and vegetarian recipes. I really
appreciate it!
I'm going to try these! yum! I wondered why you said "off line"... ? I
guess people might say that as an abbreviated form of "order them off of
the internet", but it's a really imprecise way to say what they mean.
Kind of the same thing you can do for Tuna Salad.Only difference is you use
jack fruit ,kelp seasoning, walnuts, celery, onions, sweet relish, salt and
pepper. Can throw in some veganaise too.Looks good thanks!!!!
You could have used real crab because it is no meat. Yes a lot of people go
around saying crab meat but its no meat. Ps i did try this and it was
really good i enjoyed it
These look so good!! I usually make them with tempeh but I must give this a
try :) I love the things you come up with, you're so creative in the
kitchen xo Michele
Are Hearts of palm from a palm tree or something? Because i avood palm oil
because it causes deforestation and, Orangutans are force to move or
sometime They die.
Great idea ♥ I usually use chopped up artichokes for my 'crab' cakes I
never thought of using hearts of palm, which I just love. I am so going to
try this!
That's unfortunate. I'd probably publish it... maybe even assist with the
writing if that is your main challenge. Let me know if ever you're
interested.
