Thanks for the feedback. I'm not on Cumminsforum, but am on DTR under the
same user name. Lately I've been kind of absorbed in RC planes, and not on
the ATV and diesel truck forums as much.
I would have honestly laughed my ass off if he would have cracked the
manifold by trying to use a center punch on cast steel that had been hot
then cold probally 5k times
+FordTechMakuloco I have a p247b on my 2012 f450 but the truck starts and
runs no problem. Is it safe to drive for a couple days? my business uses
this truck to ship goods OTR 4 days a week. doing about 400km per trip.
Thanks!
+FordTechMakuloco I replaced the sensor in question and cleared the code with a scanner. CEL went away and after a few hours(4-6) of driving the light has returned. Is it possible the sensor I got is faulty? Is there a way to test that?THANK YOU!
+FordTechMakuloco thanks man you're getting a sub out of me!! what about starting up a website where us 6.7 owners can talk to you directly, I and many others would gladly pay for your expertise!!
+FordTechMakuloco yep I just bought one at the dealer. what did you say in the video, I need a 13 mm wrench? I have no bay to do this in is it ok if the sensor gets a little wet? it's pissing rain out!
I have a 2008 6.4 and just had the EGRT sensor on the passenger side of the
up pipe go out. The trucks out of warranty so I'm planning on swapping the
sensor out myself. Any tips for replacing this sensor?
+Myles Carrere Yes they go into a derate mode. Best I can tell you is to remove the rh fender splash shield and glow plug control module connectors to get at it the easiest.
It's throwing the P040D code and making an annoying rattling noise when the truck is at idle or when I go over a bump. Ever since this happened it's been KILLING my power. Does the computer in the truck limit the motor when these sensors go out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you give the part number for this part? I Have a 2012 F350 King Ranch
and this has happened to me at 12k (under warranty) and now again at 63K
(not under warranty). This is my second 6.7. My first one was a 2011 F250
and the dealer had it longer than I did with a problem they couldn't fix.
Ford did nothing on either case.
+Scott Reid I have a video on the 6.4L egt sensors you use a torch to heat the bung.

07 Ram Cummins, on the highway in high gear, watching EGT's and boost...
I mainly took this vid for those guys who wanted to hear what the removed air silencer ring sounded like at highway speed, but it was drowned out by the Nitto ...
everyone told me before I got them that the nitto Mud terains were loud,
but some say mine are louder, if could be because they are 37X13.5 and if
you go with a 33 you will maybe only be 11.5 wide so the tread pattern
might be a little quieter, but people say they are still loud...
And i thought wildcat tires are loud. We had a pair on a 01 Dodge and they
make a good humm on the freeway not enough to make my teeth rattle out of
my head.
+ruizhernandeztrustfiForgot to add.At the end of the day, the stupid filter will clog beyond repair anyways and needs to be replaced and believe me the filter is very very expensive. (a dpf filter can cost +$1000.00 or even more)
REGEN (or "regeneration") is a SCHEME perpetrated by our government to force all diesel owners to waste more fuel trying to clean a filter installed in the exhaust pipe. When the damn thing gets clogged the engine sends raw fuel down the pipe trying to clean it. The result in the long run is the vehicle is way more costly to operate, engine life greatly decreased, inability to idle for long periods of time, loss of power, oil dilution and many many nasty things. It's not worth having a diesel vehicle any more, avoid diesel engines like a plague.
