Here are a few clips from the six-part TV series. The Tyrant King. The show was aimed at kids and teenagers to encourage them to visit London's famous ...
Finally,in colour. I have teenage memories of the 'bird', the fab gear, and
the groooovy soundtrack. 20 September 1968 I was in London at Battersea
Funfair. The Rotor - a giant centrifugal drum - pressed against its walls &
the floor dropped. As it stopped you gradually slid down the wall -.and the
girls opposite out of their dresses. Why are you so so cheerful-you'll be
in the army next week' said our cab driver, handing us the Evening News -
'Russia invades Czechoslovakia'. The end of an era.
its one of my favourites, and I was glad they d used it here. its : the
thoughts of emerlist davjak, the title track from the lp of the same name
by the nice, who most people dont know as well as elp, but to me were a lot
better.
Incredible! I saw this the first time round - what a memory rush. The
Tyrant King as I remember it was the Tyranosuarus Rex at the Natural
History Museum. Please post the full clip or series. Brilliant groovy
times!
This is so weird for me - for years (right back to what turns out to have
been late 1968!) I've wanted to know what programme featured some teenagers
and an eerie looking nodding creature - I was only 3 when I saw it and it
scared me to death and I remembered it ever since and finally I've seen it
again and it's just how I remembered it and it's still a bit creepy even
now. Amazing.
I remember this very well when it first came on TV. It was a hot summer and
Thames television had just started. Apart from the usual London landmarks,
a lot was filmed in Maida Vale and Harrow Road. I particularly enjoyed the
background music and have been longing to see it again. I will definitely
buy the DVD as I only remember it in black and white.
@vidocq59 the 1st song , which is constant to the series is the thoughts of
emerlist davjack, by the nice ,title track from their 1st lp. theres a
really good sequence later on with pink floyd performing set the controls
