My most used wet shaving products of 2014 tag video. I was tagged by Evan Rogers and I nominate all the Wet Shaving YouTubers out there!!! ;) Evan Rogers ...
If there are no more regulars to tag, then why dont you tag the artisens ?
Id like to see what Douglas Smythe or Caties Bubbles or Joseph and Michael
from Razorock use, as well as other shop owners and artisens.
Hello, Tom. Excellent video, excellent image quality. I have one very big
favor - do please shaving video with iKon OSS Dual Head Stainless Bulldog
Razor. On the Internet, there is no high-quality video shave with this
razor. Thanks in advance.
Tom, what I really like about you videos is that you have a really unique
taste when it comes to products. Now, for someone living outside of the
states, I really feel that you are broadening my shaving horizons if it
makes any sense. Thank you man! And make more videos (BTW, you made me buy
the Tabac shaving bowl and the aftershave and I'm extremely happy to see
the way they preform).
+Tom JanzI live in Israel and you can count on that in Israel, you cannot find any of the products you mention. I usually pay tons of money for international shipments. Really horrible. And about the Tabac, sure do! have a great day!
Hey +shay buziashvili, I really appreciate that! I'm glad I'm helping broaden your knowledge of products, I just hope you don't have a hard time finding them! Where are you located? Let me know what you think of Tabac once you give it a try! :)
Wow, Evan...Carrie and I are so honored and humbled to even be mentioned
along with PAA and Caties Bubbles. Such a blessing and we appreciate your
encouragement and support.
Great video bro.I totally agree with you on Soap Commander. I've tried many
artisan soaps and for me Soap Commander is at the top of my list. I love
their scents and Darren provides outstanding customer service. Their
aftershave balms are a must have as well! Look forward to your next video.

Where To Find Traditional Wetshaving Products In The US
Check my blog at //sharpologist.com New traditional wetshavers often want to find products in their area. Here are some common products and where to find ...
@IsaakHunt In Germany, you'll find cheap alternatives at Turkish grocery
stores. Almost everyone of them has Derby blades, 1€ for 5 blades, and they
have Arko shaving creams and shaving sticks really cheap. I like the Arko
shaving cream. It's a bit sticky, but overall performance is quite good for
cream that's worth 1€ per tube. Those Turkish markets often have a
collection of safety razors, but a lot of them are really poor quality, so
I wouldn't recommend them in general.
sod all this "house brand", fancy over priced maze of products. if your in
the UK, boots lather cream for 85p.. yes 85p (125ml) which lasts an age, is
simply a cream which you put n your face to shave. its creamy, lubricating,
"elastic", what ever. after trying lots of premium products, I realized
that are creams are just creams. infact the more expensve ones came with
more problems. simplify your life, bye some boots lather shave cream FELLOW

In Sweden I could find shaving cream and brush of the Body shop in a local
cosmetic store. You can find a pure badger shaving brush in Åhlens. Also,
you can find handmade shaving soaps and creams in related shops. However, I
have never found DE razor and their blades in any shops. But you can find
many different brands including Merkur and my favorite Edvin Jagger razors
in gents(.)se and guapo(.)se. I recommend the latter since it is cheaper:)
I know it's not as immediate at just running to the store, but where I live
in the far Northeast, Barclay Crocker delivers in darn near the next day.
They carry razors, blades, and my own Trumpers :) Again, the key is that I
live in a very rural area, BC must pick and ship the same day I order as
often I DO get my stuff the next day. And when a trip to the mall is a 35
mile drive one way, it makes all the difference in the world.
Thanks for this info. I was aware of some of these things, but some others
are new to me. I've got a lot of Rite Aids and Bath and Body Works around
here, I'll have to try the Real Shaving and C.O. Bigelow creams out. Even
for those willing to order offline, it's good to know what you have
available locally as well, in case you don't re-stock soon enough, or have
to recommend something simple for a beginner, etc.
I use the glycerin flavor of Van Der Hagen. I found it at Albertson's in
AZ, on the bottom shelf of the shaving supplies for $1.99. Super slick
stuff. I use a coffee mug and a boar-hair brush. Lathers up great, but does
take 3 turns of a 30-count. So it takes a while, but man, the lather is
very nice and has enough for three passes. I only have experience with
inexpensive soaps, but I highly recommend this one.
@Raeppl I think it's pretty much the same in Germany here. Most
supermarkets have Wilkison DE blades and a cheaper alternative. You can
also buy cheap synthetic brushes and the Wilkinson Classic plastic safety
razor. Recently I found a simple badger hair brush for about 9€ at a 'Ihr
Platz' drug store, branded 'HJM'. I also found Tabac original and Irish
Moos shaving creams, which are worth the money.
Hi there, it seems, Germany is a good place to start wet-shaving. DM, a
large drug-store chain, carries a whope lot of entry-level supplies, so do
other chains. You can easily get house-brand, Nivea and Palmolive
shaving-cream, as well as badger-brushes that are decent and the Gilette
Classic, that is a good razor to try out wet-shaving imho.
@MikeRyu One brand you could try is kiss my face shave cream, ok the
packaging isn't fantastic but I've found you can still get a fantastic
almost meringue like lather from it and its not too expensive either, you
can get that off amazon as well. Agree with you on the idea of mantic "the
legend" 59 doing a video about hard water.
I hope this isn't FUD but I heard a rumor that Bath and Body Works was
discontinuing the C.O. Bigelow / Proraso Eucalyptus shave cream. I love
this cream and hope it's not true. Last time I was in the store they didn't
have any and the sales clerk didn't know if the line was discontinued. Can
anybody confirm this rumor for me?
@eyepatchinc blades can be found relatively easily; even Walmart has blades
(the Wilkinsons are actually pretty good too). Razors are a lot more
difficult, usually you have to get them online though you will
occassionally see them at cutlery stores or specialty grooming stores (like
some Art of Shaving locations).
Just got into wet shaving about 4 months ago and love it. Ran across your
channel and followed your advice to go by a Bath & Body Works. Sure enough
they had the C. O. Bigelow shave cream on sale. Picked up a tube and can't
wait to try it out. Thanks for the videos and the good advice. Keep up the
great work.
I honestly had no idea the Real Shaving Co. stuff was half decent. I got a
tube, and found it being too.. creamy. I foolishly assumed that because it
was in a tube, it was just bad.. So, after seeing this video, I went back
to give it a real try, and it really is quite nice, especially with a
straight razor.
@philbloomer1 I tried Boots' brushless cream the other day and thought it
was pretty poor. I actually have more success with the erasmic foam in a
can! I think it might be because of the hard water where I live. Soaps and
creams just don't work as well. I'd like to see Mantic do a video on hard
water.
I just found Real Shaving Co. products at my Rite-Aid (before I saw this).
I love it! I haven't dived in to my real shaving kit yet, I'm still using
my M3 (gasp!), but it's made a huge difference. I can get quite a bit of
lather just on my hands if I work it for a few minutes.
Thanks I'm just getting started with traditional wet shaving and wasn't
sure what to go with just ordered trumpers almond cream a mekur 34c and a
brush from Edwin jagger can't wait to get started learning what my dad
couldn't teach me. Your visa have a lot of useful info.
Mantic59, My question is about aftershave. I know you recommend witch
hazel, but what about after shave splash? Are there non-alcohol products? Is
it a good idea to use? When do you apply it? Before/after the pores are
closed? Which products would you recommend?
@eelakh You mean the one with a plastic handle, and metal head? I have two
DEs, that, and an old GIllette. Honestly, I have to say I much prefer the
cheap, new Wilkinsons. It's got a fairly steep cutting angle compared to my
Gillette, but it works fine for me.
Looks like I'm not going to be able to find any pre-shave oils locally or
anything all in one place. Looks like I'm either going to have to either go
online or hit 2 or 3 stores to get razor, soap/cream, balms, pre-shave, and
maybe a brush and razor stand.
Wetshaving Tutorial - How to use alum
Welcome to another wetshaving product tutorial, in which I show you how to use alum as part of your shaving routine. My Wetshaving Tutorials How to lather a ...
I prefer to think of the burn as punishment for using bad technique. I
don't rinse it off and its just fine on my skin. Also, I have problems with
deodorants irritating my skin, and alum is a GREAT deodorant. It won't stop
you from sweating, but it keeps you from having BO. Talc and alum work
really well.
I'm not saying this to be gross, but ill say it in case others with the same problem see this. I've tried every deodorant known to man, even prescription stuff from the Doc. On my armpits it'll start out as a rash, then ill get these weeping sores, and eventually ill even start peeling BAD! There's something in most deodorants that I'm allergic to. Alum is the only thing so far that's worked really good for me.I have naturally oily skin, so that's probably why I don't get dried out. I wouldn't say I like the burn, but it makes me focus on my technique.
+Michael Justice Interesting, because (at least on the face) lots of people find it very drying if left on. I have not yet used it as a deodorant, but it clearly works for many.Loving the burn, eh?
